Two incredible guitarists. None superior to the other IMO. Oli has a much more cleaner and shreddy style. Steve's style is more dirty and has more teeth, he makes every note count. That's cool because they can both play side by side and both bring something personal to the show. Great performance. Wish I was there!
What a talent Steve Hill is, a fantastic guitar player and more! I had the pleasure of seeing him at THE REGENT THEATRE in Oshawa Ontario about a year or so ago, did some classic blues songs including the great Robert Johnson and some originals. If playing some of the best guitar wasn’t enough he also had a kick drum, with a hi-hat that he played simultaneously and a drum stick attached to his guitar headstock to hit the crash symbol with!👍🎸🇨🇦
I don't think that it actually is a competition; they're just jamming and having a blast together. Both are superb. Not everything has to be adversarial.

lots of people writing nonsense here. BOTH use overdrive, but one has single coil pickups and the other humbuckers. That explains the difference in saturation. One plays with his fingers the other uses a pick on his thumb and does chicken pickin' . Steve Hill's picking is very agressive, while Oli Brown's is much more precise and fast. So to say one is better because he doesn't use overdrive is ridiculous in this case. Play on a tele with a clean tone and you'll see how much it doesn't sound anything like Oli Brown in this clip. Before trying to sound like an expert and write your very profound analysis, try to just open your ears and eyes or at least have the humility to admit you don't know what you're talking about! And PLEASE gimme a break with the 12-bar shuffle in E minor pentatonic that is overdone. THIS IS A BLUES JAM and a guitar DUEL! Its guitar porn! What are you talking about poprip ??? How can you be sûre Oli Brown is using a single coil ??? I play guitar I am using a telecaster with humbucker (hotrail from seymour duncan) i can assure you it looks like a single coil ... If i play on a fender tube amp with the volume at 5 it sound like I'm using an overdrive but it's all about the hotrail pickup it gives a saturate sound. Steve hill is way much to Busy and he is using a very dirty sound That makes him more dangerous but in fact it is Oli Brown who is the best . Do you really Know what you're talking about ?????

I'm not talking about who's the best, I don't know where exactly you read this in my comment. I'm talking about the fact that people talk through their asses. I'm saying that they both use "overdrive" (whether its a pedal or their amp's tone breakin into saturation). None of them has a clean tone. Oli has single coils. That's my point. Look at other Oli Brown's shows on you tube in HD and you will clearly see regular single coils. Anyways, as I said, I know what I'm talking about. And saying one is better is juvenile. In this case both are extremely talented and are at the top of their games using a different approach. Chicken pickin give's you a more precise playing with lots of notes but the dirty finger playin' of Steve Hill is pretty damn difficult to do like he does.

Both trying too hard, the Blues at its best is when it's simple. Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore should be the go to teachers for Steve. He's got the better handle on the blues and could be superb if he calms down and structures his riffs more. Oli as much as I love him is more of an experimental rock guitarist and it shows here.
