Love it my man. Everything from Labor Days and Float is like this... A good mix of this and his new stuff is off None Shall Pass which IMO is one of his best albums but it gets overshadowed a lot. Really, any song you chose from his 20+ year career will be good... You could literally just type in his name and pick any song off the list lol.

Loving your Aesop reacts, homie. His earlier projects, like this one, are definitely more dense and obtuse, so salute to you for truly digging into it. 🫡✌️

This was when a lot of ears perked up like 'WHO is this Aesop Rock dude?' In 2000, when Float was released, Big Bang made a serious impact.

1:17 'whoa this is like metaphors on top of metaphors and my metaphors are doing jumping jacks and bench presses' LMFAO i LOVED EVERY SECOND OF THIS u DID HIS ART PROUD!! i was not expecting a breakdown SO THANK YOU FOR SPENING THE TIME/ENERGY ON DOING THAT. it was GLORIOUS! 15:16 'this is amazing in the way like you have to live life you have to go through certain things or maybe learn some things...and then suddenly one line is going to click...' there's lines from his art that, originally i would'v edited out in an abridged version & then a decade later i hear it different & it becomes sacred to me. that's why i called every line i don't get a hidden treasure hunt & i always find wealth at the end of the journey

I'M soooOOO stoked for sick friend!! everything before Skelethon is more like Big Bang & SIck Friend. He's got about 10 straight narratives like Aggressive Steven. U prefering a style yet??

@@RavenousCatalyst594what song would you have introduced first to hook Saeed and why? I went with Agg Steve bc it’s easier to find his story arc, he doesn’t compromise on his lyrics, and the sound engineering is more dynamic than his earlier lo-fi work

@@theologyofthebody2870 I think Aggressive Steven was the best song u could'v chosen. Aes' storytelling is definitely streamlined on ITS album & I think when ur introducing Aes to somebody a streamlined version is the best start. One of the things I love about the album is it gives us a lot of songs we can use to ease people into his art. I wouldn't have started Saeed with Big Bang, but I was sooo impressed with his reaction to Aggressive Steven that I figured he'd appreciate it. Plus his reaction added to what i get from Big Bang & after 20+ years w/ only my thoughts on it this was priceless. before ITS i'm trying to think what i would'v requested he react to, probably 9-5ers Anthem but thank aes we have ITS

18:10 'promise yo I'm gonna need a dictionary for this one man' i have to look up at least one word in every song I LOVE IT! this one i looked up Pedagauge(a teacher that teaches how to teach) & litigants(oppostie sides in a court battle) so like Doom litigants are those debating different types of doom, different doom scenarios, oh woe is me the whole world is evil kind of stuff & he eclipsed them

Drake & current rappers, are what Terrance & Phillip from South Park represent. Celebrities Acts that just FART IN UR FACE & how we've come to applaud them & IT IS WAY INSULTING, for example that DRAKE ends 50%+ of his lines w/ same word & considers that a rhyme pattern

4:18 'wow a frigid liquid bag bone. so you know you think you're good or you know you're sturdy but sometimes you just swaying as well' FAHKING AWESOME TAKE!! I'D NEVER IN ALL MY 20+YRS LISTENING TO IT, UNDERSTOOD THE LINE THAT WAY & IT'S FAHKING AWESOME. I always heard it based on knowing that our spinal cord is surrounded/supported by liquid, (Cerebrospinal fluid flows in & around the hollow spaces in the brain & spinal cord to help cushion them from injury & provide nutrients') sooo i took it as a clever play on the intricacies of a system the unique justapose in relationships that keep the whole a'FLOAT' (album big bang is on lol)

Man that comment about this is the type of music you have to live life a bit and come back to it to get it. 100%, never thought about that but damn is it right about a lot of Aesop. The whole first verse scheme where he's talking about being broke and stressing over the bill collector and just making things hard by not following the society standards is something that just went over my head when I was 17-18. Come back to this song after making so many dumb mistakes and living on my own paycheck to paycheck and that whole verse just popped out to me when I revisited it years ago.

Big Bang always fights for top spot as my fav, like each album release it always knuckles up til it gets back up there -- so i thoroughly enjoyed this reaction man. I worked 3rd shift for 15-16 years and was able to listen to music, so it was about 65% aes straight thru. U do amazing w each aes reaction, much better than i did thats for sure - i started w this album actually^ anyway, U ever consider doing a whole chronological catalog? Keep it up.

I know this video is 2 months old and thus this comment will probably go unread, but I just want to throw a bit of constructive criticism out there, which is that it makes for a more engaging video as well as a chance for better analysis if you listen to the song once all the way through without pausing and THEN go back through again while pausing and adding your commentary. It’s extremely difficult, if not impossible, to fully & truly take in a song and its lyrics when pausing every few seconds (especially with regard to how different portions of the song connect to one another).
