Good video. I’m a low wing aircraft pilot but the 206 sounds like a good option for someone that needs a payload carrying, shirt field aircraft. I imagine it’s popular in Alaska.
I’ve flown all over Alaska for work and have traveled on quite a few of these. They are also popular with some freight haulers from hubs to small villages also. Many air taxi services with a few planes have one of these in their fleet. As far a low wing aircraft, a Cherokee 6 is comparable and is also used the same way. Flying around the Alaska Peninsula for about 4 years 30 years ago Peninsula Airlines had a bunch of these I flew in.
For short strips we prefer the 206, robust landing gear, powerful engine and it can land with a STOL kit anywhere with 200/300 meters, in DrUgs stuff the fuel isn’t a issue, they ran with fuel in the wings and has some barriles inside with more fuel sooo is the perfect aicraft for this stuff
You should look into the Turbo 206 use by undercover DEA not sure if there's ever been a pubic STC on the set up, but this was many years ago, it was a quick litter intercept aircraft. But perhaps there's a pubic STC No worries about the shock cooling the engine as you could easley clime or drop down to 50 feet above the water and not worry about the destoring the stock engine. From the change intemp
A clapped out king air with timed out engines for a one or two shot trip can still be had for mill ..probably much less..drug runners often ditched or burned planes after a run

185 is more popular in Alaska but it’s a 206 pretty much just tail wheel
They take floats well too.
The only people who care about the wing position are private pilots.

@@Chris_at_Home Agree. C206 and cherokee 6 are really great planes and often overlooked.

"7000 strong mans to chalk their hands" 🤣🤣🤣 definitely chalked my hands a few times back in the day.
LOL... I learned on a 206...
Not a cartel FI though... :-)
206 has a nice wing
King air today starts at $7m. Not 1.
Correct, i was referring to the past times and not new. Seeing these inflation rates hits hard :(

Chalk 😂
tsss! Nothing illegal, sir!
Chalk is quite heavy. 😀
@@bigmetalbirds ordered by the kilo!
Very easily downed with small arms.
So what happens if you buy a 206 and then the DEA dogs smell some residue coke on the plane (even though you've only used it for legit purposes)?

How do you know that was el chapos favorite plane? What is your source 😂
