    Still the same as my 2020 touring but honestly it was a fantastic purchase. Eats up highway miles and way more nimble than my Tahoe, but still has tremendous space behind the 2nd row. That v6 is legendary.

      @@luperamos7307 Looks. Pilot is ugly. And the new pilot is way more crampt. I sat in one (Im a husky broadshoulder 5'9'" man) because I wanted the updgrade iVTM4 with the better torque and heat capacity... and I hated it. It was so crampt in the driver seat.
      Then I got in a 23 Passport, and I was like... WOW. Big difference in comfort and space. Way more comofortable. Less sexy interior for sure, but my legs had ROOM. My thighs and lovehandles could breath.
      Seat was so comfy. Pilot interior feels like a 2015 Civic in size. Might have the 3rd row, but it just doesnt have the comfortable size of the Passport.
      Passport is like that happy medium between a 2024 Pilot and a 2020 Tahoe.

    I have had my 2019 PP EX-L for 4 years/49k miles. Love it. Your review is spot on. Although I do prefer the simple infotainment screen and actual HVAC controls vs a giant tablet. The engine is a gem, transmission - eh ok. I find the best results by keeping mine in "S" all the time except the freeways. Keeps it from hunting for gears too much and upshifting to too high of a gear on side roads. The icing on the cake is I got mine for $31.5k+TTL in 10/2019 as an end of year model sale.

    I love my 2020 Passport Elite. The cabin is spacious and the controls on the dash and steering wheel are easy to access and use. I don't need/want a massive display. In mixed highway/street driving around San Diego, I get around 19-20 mpg. On the highway on cruise control near the speed limit (65-70), I've got 26 mpg. If I put it in Eco mode on cruise control on the highway, I may eek out 27 or 28 mpg.
    I agree with the assessment of adaptive cruise control. It can be sluggish to accelerate, and it does like tapping on the brakes a lot. I've also noticed that, on downhill grades, the cruise control doesn't do very well at holding the car at the set speed. I've seen it run up over 8 to 10 mph over the set speed before I had to tap on the brakes (knocking it off cruise control) to slow the car down. My old BMW 5-Series would keep the car within 2 mph of the set speed on downhill grades.
    I have taken my Elite AWD off-road in the deserts near San Diego, but was very timid with it, mainly because of the 20-inch wheels. I would be more inclined to do so with a Trail Sport model. It would be nice if Honda put some recovery points / tow points on the Trail Sport if they're hyping it as off-road capable.

    The 2024 Passport Trailsport has (over all other current Passport models and the 2023 Passport Trailsport) revised spring rates, enhanced damper valve tuning and different stabilizer bars for increased articulation for better off-roadability. In addition to the wider track, 18" wheels and All-Terrain General Grabber tires.
    So the 2024 Passport Trailsport, is more than an appearance package, unlike the 2023 Trailsport that was pretty much an appearance package, other than the wheels/tires/track.

    While I agree that the adaptive cruise is pretty timid, the lane centering is much better than many competitors. Admittedly, I'm not as well versed in the competition as a car reviewer, but the experience I do have places the Honda lane centering well above others. However, the adaptive cruise... that thing is a chicken, BUT works well. Calling something "meh" and "fine" in the same sentence as well is a bit confusing. You've done so many reviews, keep in mind, that fine is probably good to most of us muggles :) Perspective and all.

    I have the 23 Passport Trailsport. I agree with you about the push button shift, not my favorite. I think the front visibility is a bit limited with fat A pillars and high hood. My 20 ridgeline has a more sloped hood but I think the newer one has the straighter higher hood. Have to be extra careful in tight situations like parking lots. I don’t care about sound systems in cars, maybe because I’m hearing impaired anyway. The all wheel drive is really impressive off road. I’ve had a Nissan xterra and a 4 runner so I’ve done some off road driving. The Trailsport drive system is great. Obviously less ground clearance, lack of protection, no recovery points but it can get through some pretty rough roads. Nice review.

    • @mikespies786
      @mikespies786 11 місяців тому

      Hi, Jerry- this is the first comment I've read that mentions that high hood- a feature that my wife and I both dislike. Can I ask how long you've owned the Passport and if this concern dwindles with time? We have a 2024 Black Edition on order and the only concern we have is this, which also creates a very large trough between the front windshield and the high hood- it looks like an area that could be problematic for debris/ice/snow, despite the heated wiper feature.

      @jerrys5946 11 місяців тому +1

      @@mikespies786 I don't have the ice and snow problem, I live in AZ and I haven't had any debris issues. I've gotten used to it but it is the biggest vehicle I've driven regularly in a long time. I've had a CR-V previously along with Honda Accords, Civics, and a Tesla Model 3. The high hood is not a deal breaker, it is actually a really nice vehicle. I thought I was going to be doing a lot more traveling in it including some forest roads but my life changed and it is basically a grocery getter for me. But it is a good vehicle, lots of nice features, very comfortable. And it is not as big a front end as most large SUVs and pickups, just bigger than what I've been used to. I think you'll be happy with it overall. Oh, I just went over one year of ownership and I'm comfortable with it, just something to be aware of.

      If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. It’s a true testament to Honda’s ultra reliability. You must lease a new car every 3 years.

      @IsaiahEBelk No, I own a 23 Type R that I'll keep forever.
      You enjoy your $50k 2024 Honda Passport equivalent of a $35k 2017 Honda Pilot.

      @@Mario_kart1320 You buy what you like plain & simple. Coming from someone who claims to own a Type R, you sure have a lot of interest on what people enjoy to buy.

    That interior is looking extremely dated. Replacing that 2013 dashboard with something more modern like an LED panel would have made this vehicle somewhat competitive
