Not to mention the nuclear plant is way cheaper per MW per month so the margin gets much wider over time. And for the first month it's actually exactly equal.
The upkeep alone makes Nuclear 3 times more efficient than wind and that's based on the MAX wind production, and that's not even counting the upkeep required at the transformer station. Oh well, Matt will be Matt.
Matt I believe you need an account's area in your city, because listening to you argue for wind turbines just hurt my head, you said it costs 22.5k per MW for the nuclear plant for year one, then 41k for a wind turbine the first year then declared 41k was "way cheaper"
I've been doing my own city skylines 2 playthrough, and my city is currently level 12 when I discovered a trick to make a lot more money. Drop electrity and water tax so you get a +5 happieness from each, the little money you make from the tax is nothing compared to the money people spend when they're more happy. I went from barley making money to a +3 arrow. I left my city running over night, and i went from 1-ish mil to 22mil (would've been more but new special building paused my game). Seriously, give it a try, and money will be flowing. You can also individualize what specific groups get taxed if you expand each section.
8:21-8:27 Doing a job right now where the architect thought we could curve our sheet vinyl and put a ton of pointless curves in the blueprint. They continue throughout the rooms and hallways... that have opaque walls so nobody will ever be able to tell unless they look at the blueprint
you could made some specialized industries and raise the tax to 15% for them ( the raw materials only ) , i did that on my city and now i'm getting money like hundreds of millions per hour, and sometimes it bugged like the starts of each month then i getting minus income, but as time goes i got back to surplus income like before
0:42 Duesbury Bridge. At first I thought it said Doesburg Bridge, Doesburg being my home town! A really small obscure city in The Netherlands! Too bad :(
I love this game which is odd considering these types of games are generally so far from the things I like… but it’s so fun lol I’m interested to see how this series progresses
You know it's funny, the one thing I realized after looking at all this shit, is that their is no fishing pond amenities or fisheries or offshore oil fields. That needs to be an update.
The price to build the wind turbines for them to make the exact amount of the nuclear power plant is around 3M, that’s 2 Million cheaper. BUT. The upkeep is over the double, 2.2M
Day 35 (I think) of asking RCE to play Creeper World. It's a series of RTS game about fighting floods and managing resources. There's also loads of community content. CW3 and CW4 are both really good choices. CW4 has a custom Colony map that's very highly rated (number 6 highest-rated custom map) called The Wave, where you have to prepare for and fight off a huge tsunami. It's very challenging, but also quite fun.
Upkeep is per month. So if you want to calculate the cost per MW for the first year you have to multiply it by 12 and add the cost. (12 * 1 000 000) + 5 000 000 = 17 000 000
You should make a city called: Architects are the best, the city is built for architects to live in and enjoy, and the name is to lure them in to the city as they think it is a good place to live. Now when you get to a good population size you should cut it off from the rest of the world and destroy the city or something like that.
Lol, i can't when rc say about making the hearses drive a long distance to warm up the body and make it stinky like that was diabolical. Imagine hating someone that you deliberately make people take a long time to send their bodies so that it rot lol
Matt, you might wanna build up some money (maybe offscreen to get everything done) to pay off all of your loans, so that your city produces all the money and the loans don´t take any. That would be really good money engineering, beacuse the most efficient way to manage a city is without moneyoutput from loans. (At least that´s, what I think, but i´m just an examinated warehouse operator. Forklift certified. Trusses in racks are pretty stable and if the racks have sheets of wood on them, they make multilayer - metal and wood - pillarbirdges *echoing voice: those racks are so long...*)
Oh does this game have water phisics now? I sort of quit because I could not figure out how to turn imported sewage into exported power taking money from both ends of the process. The game is pretty opaque on how to import and export anything but power
MATT: does the math and finds wind turbines to be twice the cost per MW of nuclear.
MAtt: WOW WIND IS WAY CHEAPER LETS BUILD THESE
I heard that
Not to mention the nuclear plant is way cheaper per MW per month so the margin gets much wider over time. And for the first month it's actually exactly equal.
I had to re listen, I thought I was going mad
Architect math
@@pseudocoder78 and to boot, the wind turbines are all low voltage and he has to now pay upkeep on transformers
Nuclear is like half the cost/mw than wind..... Matt's math is architect level

HES AGING AHHH
But you can only build one
I am used to Matt not finding efficient solutions at this point.

RCE:- "IT'S SO EXPENSIVE!" also RCE:- **builds 20 cemeteries side by side**
And then he wonders why this city struggles so much while his one-off gimmick cities thrive.
He admitted that he's a click bait engineer ! He's an architect.
yup especially since landscaping doesn’t cost anything lol

RCE the central bank boosts export prices so get that so your electricity sells for more
That "I want it to mimic the alps" felt a little too real, like it came from a real conversation Matt had
Talk about a literal money pit lol
Hearing “So much poop its coming out the front” while getting my snacks ready i almost lost it 😂 💀
Make the road curvy to "mimic the Alps" 😂 good stuff

As an Architecture student, I fully condone hate relationship between us and you civil engineers

Have you really just made us sit through 20 minutes and all you did was dig a massive hole and plant some wind turbines 🤣

Just pause most of the cemeteries or graveyards to stop paying the upkeep

@@abcdefgcdefg5178 I believe it's a PC exclusive.
@sarahk821 ok no worries I have all the consoles and a pc, just wanted to check out the game, thank you!
Dang, doing so well for awhile then this episode hit.
the thumbnail looks like FIRE IN THE HOLE 🗣🔥 🕳
I just quickly did the Calculation to check which is cheaper :
Nuclear : Purchase: 5 000 000
Upkeep : 1. 000 000
Produce 750 Mw
6 000 000/750 = 8000
Therefore nuclear costs 8000 per Mw.
Wind : Purchase : 25 000
Upkeep : 15 000
Produces 5 Mw
40 000/5 = 8000
Therefore wind costs 8000 per Mw
Upkeep is per month. So if you want to calculate the cost per MW for the first year you have to multiply it by 12 and add the cost.
(12 * 1 000 000) + 5 000 000 = 17 000 000
Game company needs to sponsor a video with a full copy of the game. Would watch the shit out of this.

Peer Pressure here! Time to play FrostPunk! The engineers need your help! You going to let the architects win!?
literally in the beginning of the episode i was thinking that it was impressive how profitable the city was lol
He finally remembered the loan!
the waste treatment doesnt make sewage water but does pollute the ground
more timberborns soon ??? :3
Should have made the hole triangular, since engineers love triangles I guess architects hate them.
We need another prison for the architects and a storage for the nuclear power plant.

It is only now I've realised the shapes in the residential district.
Only episode where the architects won.
With all this poop you are collecting, Engipoopia is also a fitting name. Ngl
With how much poop is around the city, you should consider calling the city EngiPOOPia
I still find it hilarious that Biffa won't fix your traffic because there's too much efficient design for his channel XD

How about fix it, and then expand.
Joe-thermal power. Some people just naturally run hot. May as well exploit them for electrical power.

Should have used "Quick Math!" to compute cost per MW. You wouldn't have gotten confused.
Hey Matt, would it be possible to fill an entire tile with poo using the trick you did to fill the volcano-moat around alCRAPtraz?

I'd like to think the architects could see the error of their ways and repent to escape. More of a purgarchtory
Transformer stations dont need roads to work and it does not change efficiencyof it.
