  • Hi everyone! This is episode four of my Baltics plus Finland series in which I travel to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland. In this video, I swap one Baltic capital for another by travelling from Vilnius to Riga. I decided to travel by bus which took about five hours, and this video will show you my experience as well as what to expect when taking this journey in winter.
    The vlog starts with me walking to the Vilnius bus station, which is the biggest bus station in the Baltics. I arrive early to familiarise myself with and explore the bus station, and grab a quick coffee before boarding.
    I provide commentary on various elements of the journey, both verbal and in written form (as I didn't want to talk too much to annoy the other passengers!). We will drive through some interesting towns and magical landscapes covered in snow.
    After arrival in Riga, I give a quick summary of my experience and some useful tips to keep in mind if you're ever thinking of doing this trip.
    I then head into Riga to find my accommodation and give a tour of it, before calling it a day after a long bus journey!
    I hope you find this video informative and enjoyable. If you haven't done so already, please give this video a LIKE and please SUBSCRIBE to the channel. It really helps me out and doesn't cost you anything! It also allows me to make more videos such as these, for your free enjoyment.
    Happy exploring!
    Willie

    Always interesting to see your travel to/between places, Willie. A few vloggers have used Flixbus and they always seem to get good reviews. Amazing apartment too! Looking forward to seeing Riga😊

      Thanks Sheila, it was a very beautiful journey driving through all that forest and snow! The apartment was fantastic. I've only used FlixBus once before, when travelling from Tirana to Skopje - but that was not a bus like this! Riga content coming soon :)

      Thanks Emmerentia. I did the summer trip back in 2008 and yes, a very different experience. No warm hat and long johns, but shorts and flip flops instead. Glad you got to see more of the countryside and other places in Lithuania. Dankie vir die ondersteuning!

    Wow! Man! So glad to hear the Brit accent, my pleasure you visit my country, of course you know no Queen of England there, just Dukes of Lithuania, or may be you gonna find a king Mindaugas.. that’s gonna be a treasure.. So , enjoy our country, and feel free.. don’t be shy to ask anything, we don’t harm your royalty..Enjoy!🇱🇹🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👋

    You can also take a train from Vilnius to Riga, the travel is quite enjoyable. I prefer it over the bus every time, a bit more expensive though.

      Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm really pleased that you enjoy my content! Price-wise it is definitely the Funchal coffee and perhaps quality-wise too, but the Vilnius coffee kept me warm when needed! More videos coming soon so watch out for those :)

      I think you got a great price for your stay . Please let me know which places in Funchal would you recommend for me as you know I’m going in June for three weeks. Thank you Merry Christmas and happy new year .

    • @willieexplore
      @willieexplore  6 місяців тому

      @@adel-711 very happy to help! I can recommend the place I stayed at but note that there is no lift so you will need to take stairs to your room. If you want to splash out on a bit more luxury, there are many price comparison websites to help. If you're planning to do a lot of walking in Funchal, I'd recommend a central location.
