I'm watching this episode from my bed in Bklyn, NY. It is Motzei Shabbos at 4:00 AM and I can't sleep. I have stage 4 cancer and I have my doubts about surviving another year. However, after listening to this episode it gives me renewed hope and chizuk that one day I will spread my miracle story too!
I'm from Israel and it's amazing how, as a Jew, I can connect to my fellow Jew's feelings. Your words touced mt heart. Wishing you refuah shlemah dear sister.
This was amazing, I was tearing up 🥹 when God answered David’s prayer and his cousin woke up from coma. Barukh Hashem. Everything David shared was really speaking to what I’m going through. Thank you.
Incredible interview! Couldve listened another hour! Thank you for sharing so many personal details of your life. Crying from inspiration! May Hashem give you koach to continue all the impt work you do and may you and your family be healthy together, until 120!
Watching from Ohio in USA. Amazing story. Even though I'm not Jewish I know in my heart that I must have Jewish ancestry even though I can't prove it. Or at least a lost ten triber!! Love you all!!
I’m watching from Havelock North, New Zealand, and found David’s story awesome and a true testimony of FAITH in Yahveh God. Since I’ve truly known God of the Torah, I trust Him more day by day. I listened to a Messianic fellow-believer who lives 5 hours drive away, last Erev Shabbat testify to her brother a month ago, in Jakarta, suffer a motor cycle accident aged 51 and die within 48 hours. He’d been unwell with colds/flu for weeks. She was on the phone to him one day, then could not reach him the next, over hours of trying to reach him, feeling cross with him. Next a call comes from an unknown voice. “Hello lady, do you know this man, Ben?” “My brother….” “Well …,accident, off his bike into a deep drain, unconscious, but his phone was open and we are answering your calls. Where do we take your brother?Regina in NZ, thinks quickly, stricken with shock, calls to Yahveh to help her; “send him to his brother… we’ll pay.” Goes in taxi, a long way, (hospital care, ambulances are not an option as in Israel with Magen David Adom, or NZ). He’s unconscious until the following day. Two brothers watch over him in bed, he seems near death, but wakes the next morning, walks to the bathroom and can talk with family. Regina has been praying on the phone to him, (as she did years ago for me on the night I was sickest with Covid). Ben says later that day he needs to go to hospital…. Once there, waiting in the Emergency Department Ben, having walked in, has been talking with each of his two brothers, then says he feels tired, and rests his head on a brother’s shoulder… observed by another waiting patient, she says “he’s gone”. “No, he’s asleep”. She was in fact, right. Medical assessment found him to have a depressed skull fracture…. He’d bought a new cough syrup, that had caused drowsiness, and he’d tragically gone to work… Regina’s last conversation with him had been to encourage him to ask Yeshua to help /heal him….they were a family of Messianic believers. Regina still mourns from NZ, I understand but reassure her of the miracles of the situation, that Ben had all his siblings around him, Regina, the eldest, on Zoom, as he passed into the sleep of death. His phone had been open for a stranger to speak to the one person who could best advise Him.. Yahveh’s hand was surely guiding the best possible outcome for Ben. He’d experienced great losses in his life, wife, child, home, business, I know not why. But this true tale I share with you, is yet only another of the love, goodness and mercy God has for those who call to Him. HaleluYah🕎🕊🌏
Christy, like you, I truly feel Jewish. On one hand there is no need to know, but for the sake of a daughter who understands my deep faith and a son who does not, I believe I should seek to know more with blood testing. Meanwhile I stand firmly with Israel and always shall do. 🙏🏻🇮🇱💙
What an incredibly moving, and inspirational episode. David is both brilliant and courageous for telling the story of his life. Please consider having him back with his devoted wife.
Loved this. watching from NY Queens. I am an addict in recovery and also got diagnosed with ADHD . This interview is so powerful and spot on. Addiction is a spiritual mality and the solution is connection with Hashem which is only found once the substance is removed. Thank You!!
Watching from North Carolina USA. Baruch Hashem! May Hashem continue to guide David in His direq… May we all conquer the yetzer ha-ra by helping to spread Torah. What an inspiring story of resilience and struggle. May all your Chodesh endeavors succeed!❤ (from a Noahide who is waiting on conversion)
Boker tov. Watching from Houston, TX. I love what you guys do. I have learned and unlearned so much. I am always so inspired and changed every time that I watch. You guys are doing far more than you may realize. May Hashem continue to bless you all in all things. Shalom
Wow. Just wow. I could listen to this interview over and over again. I am currently in graduate school for social work and relating to your love for helping others, aka Hashem’s children, resonated with me so much. It helps me push through this final year of school. You are so incredibly inspiring and deserve so much bracha and happiness!!
I’m converting to Orthodox Judaism and when he said “you became religious when you downloaded WhatsApp”, I never laughed so hard in my life 😂 I never been in so many chats before now that I’m converting. I’m watching from Bergenfield NJ

I’m watching from lower east side Manhattan Amazing May Hashem continue to give R’ David hatzlacha in all his Avodas Hakodesh! Strength and happiness together with his wife and family😊
This was incredible. Wow. Rabbi Kalmus and his wife are both hero’s. Each of them leaning into the life that HaShem gave them and giving their all to their purpose. I feel like what Rabbi Akiva said about his wife if true about Rabbi Kalmus’ wife… all this is hers. Thank you Rabbi Kalmus for being so open with your life, and struggles, and how incredibly you are fighting to fulfill this incredible purpose that you have!
Listening in yerushalayim. I had a similar experience, severe anxiety, which wasn’t relieved through various medications, therapy, seminars, judaism etc. i grew up religious, and still am, but have real difficulties davening and learning. Through the 12 steps, where I learned that I can’t do it alone, but if i let go, and allow G-d to take control, i can live a normal life. I haven’t been able to connect to breslov or any torah specific approach, and i have regular downs where i fall away from my connection to G-d, and my life slips backwards, and i have to find G-d again.
Trying changing your diet....neurological, mental or autoimmune issues are frequently connected to problems with the gut. Try the keto diet it has a massive positive effect ....burn fat for fuel, not sugar. It sounds crazy, but it works.
I'm watching this episode from beautiful Nahariya. Israel. We made aliyah from Canada almost 4 years ago and are grateful to Hashem for bringing us to Eretz Yisroel!
Watched from Lawrence NY. The Absolute Most Riveting Story Yet! Watched with my wife on the couch motzei shbbs. We laughed - We cried - We really felt his pain happiness and that last story in the hospital - we are still in shock! Kol Hakavod to you both. R David - Outstanding Work!
Watching from Brooklyn NY... fascinating discussion. My husband(alav hashalom) enjoyed discussing with others about the existence vs non-existence of Hashem or Judaism vs. Others... I liked hearing this journey.
Wow wow woe, this was on a whole new level of inspiration!! What a heart this man possesses, what an incredible, person, a true role model for the world! May Hashem continue to bless him with mental health, with his huge projects for the Jewish nation, may he see loads of Nachat from his children, Shalom bayit, loads and loads of success!! Thank you for opening up to us and sharing such intimate details about your life, you are truly one of a kind!! Hashem is with you on your life's journey every step of the way, it's so clear how much He loves you! Thank you for sharing! Wishing you all the best!!! Watching from Brooklyn NY ❣️
For those struggling with anxiety depression etc - If you are open to a holistic approach, you can try eating golden flax meal...flax seeds are so tiny that if they are eaten without grinding them, they will be excreted whole, without being digested. Hence the need to eat the flax meal instead. Golden flax meal is of higher quality than the brown version. It goes well with yogurt, salad, milk, or anything...i just mix it with water and make a cereal...if i want immediate results i eat half of a cup or a cup of flax meal...it contains omega oils which are essential for brain function and since i dont like the aftertaste of fish oil capsules, i stick with golden flax meal...it makes a big difference...i keep it in the ref or freezer for freshness...since you are struggling right now, you should probably start with a mega-dose - at least a cupful or two for a day or two or three...then you can just go down to a quarter to a half cup or a few tablespoons per day...Bob's Red Mill is an excellent brand which is available at local health food stores and online...also exercise is an amazing way to get those feel good hormones flowing and will wonders and magic as well
