Facts, very informative and this information is what gives us more respect for the wrestlers on the road. It ain’t easy, but great to shed light on it.
Two hours might seem like too long, but it can never be too long. Remember, people listen to these shows during work, house chores, and during gaming sessions. They really do help to pass the time.
Two hours is never too long when the topics and conversation are this compelling. Not once did I feel this episode dragged, I was completely sucked in and glued to my screen. With Stevie and Maven's Friday uploads, I couldn't ask for a better start to the weekend!
Those two remind me of sports talk radio back in the days. Now i dont listen to sports talk radio because i learned sports are rigged and scripted like pro wrestling. Now it sounds stupid to hear idiots fight over whos stats are better.
Stevie every summer I’d see you in wildwood at the Atilis gym. Your pic is still on the wall w/all the other boys who would do the annual summer show at the convention center in wildwood. Thanks for the memories brother
Steve, I was never a fan of yours but your intelligence of the wrestling business and the way you speak has made me a fan. In other words your investment into wrestling when you were young is now paying off into me. Keep doing what you are doing.
Could listen to Stevie talk all day, such a calming presence and voice, and a huge untapped knowledge source. Fantastic host and interviewing also (keep it up!)
I was too young to really have a grasp of who Stevie or Maven was WWE wise, but these guys are awesome and have enabled me have a blast learning so much about the backstage side of the business. Keep doing what you’re doing Stevie I love your honesty and I love this channel!!
I'm calling it now. If you guys continue in this fashion with the down to earth and astute insight on the business, with inside stories thrown in here and there, you guys will become a gigantic podcast. Especially if you guys would be able to do this live and even get some guests in studio to interview and break bread with. You have such a great personality, id honestly love to see you start a Joe Rogan style podcast.
Yeah, 2 episodes in and I know I will be listening to/watching the full episodes of this. Only watch segments from others, but this is so good! Love the analysis segments especially!
Wow…I’m so impressed. Been a die hard fan of “The Business” for 30+ years, and I still learned something new in each segment of this show. Fantastic job Stevie and James!

He's been touring with his band a bunch and still shows up to shows during the week. Good to have that kind of boss, I do wonder how sustainable it'll be long term.
No he didn't. Get off of Bret Hart's dick. Accidents happen, look at Droz incident. Brock breaking Holly's neck. Brock getting rattled after trying a SSP.
It's not all Goldbergs fault. Bret Hart choose to wrestle when he knew his neck was fucked up. And also he said he wasn't mad at Goldberg anymore until Goldberg made his big return years ago
@@Beetleguss I don't think it's really fair to say that he chose to continue wrestling. He was severely concussed and people with head injuries aren't able to make sensible choices. @Bernicia295 there's plenty out about it. The doctors told him he was fine, accidents happen and he got concussed, it's just a risk and always has been. What happens after is what matters. He was misdiagnosed and told he was fine so continued to wrestle, this was the bigger problem.

Bret Hart has always taken his job seriously. I don't just mean the craft of being a wrestling performer where the main goal is to protect your coworker. I mean he just plain takes it very seriously. Being a wrestler is not just something he did for a living, it was his identity as a human being. Bret always comes across as being a wrestler first and an enterainer second. He takes it personally. When that identity is built into a person's psyche and then you take that away from them, it can be very difficult to let it go. It's one thing to retire or be used up by a business. It's another to be retired by a guy you dont respect as a wrestler, but even told on many occasions to take it easy, lest you injure the guy you are working with. I'm guessing that having pride in his profession and investing his identity in being a wrestler, and the best one at that, you would want to validate that fact by going out on your own terms. First he gets screwed by Vince McMahon, then his career is ended by Goldberg of all people. It probably wasnt what a man who considers himself the best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be had in mind when he sacrificed to be the best at what he did. It's a tough pill to swallow. Would letting it go help him to suffer less? Yes. But when being a wrestler is so closely tied with your personal sense of self it is easier said than done. @@MrGarebear13 Such an intellectually weak argument. Bret's continued wrestling throughout the rest of December 1999 and early January 2000 is what ACTUALLY retired him. To claim otherwise is intellectually dishonest and even Stevie in this episode questions the cumulative effects of wrestling with a concussion and continuing to sustain injury to that concussed brain. So yes, by now in 2024 (24 years later), Bret should get over it and take some personal responsibility for his decision to keep wrestling with a concussion, irrespective/regardless of whether he was aware of the dangers of doing so or not and whether he was worried about losing his spot and/or whether he was concerned for his pay/other fears for taking time off. time to call a spade a spade instead of just siding with Bret Hart and his bitterness just because he is Bret Hart. Even Bret Hart can be (and very much is) wrong for projecting/misplacing his anger and blame.
