This is a apples and elephants comparison. I drive a new Z4 M40i and I didn’t even consider a Porsche. Boxster/TT/SLC would be more appropriate to compare rather than saying don’t buy a 4 cylinder Z4, rather buy a 6 cylinder 911. The 911 is an icon and the Z4 is a revolution. In my experience the Z4 with the M40i spec has amazing road holding yet the ride isn’t firm due to the adaptive M suspension. Steering is a bit over-assisted but precise. As a daily driver the Z4 is a pleasure. I even had to drive it on the occasional gravel road with no fuss at all. So from gravel to highway it carries you with power and luxury with a bunch of safety tech - a better all rounder you’d be hard pressed to find.
I agree with you. You have the top of the line version which will obviously be better than the one I drove. The z4 is a great roadster and can't beat the great BMW interior and tech. All I was saying is that the Porsche 911/Boxter/Cayman are pure sports cars and handles as such. The BMW is more of a roadster with a great sporty feel. Both are great cars and appeals to different buyers. No right or wrong here. Congratulations on your car!
The Porsche Boxster just handles way better than Z4 with the mid engine balance. Z4 has better tech and interior, and the powerful b58 engine, but the steering has zero feedback. I tested both and decided to buy a 981 boxster S and cannot be happier.
Great Video, I have just sold my 2018 911 991.2 T for a Z4 3.0i MSport While i agree the 911 is the better handling car the Z4 offers a different experience.
I noticed the bouncy suspension too, especially at high speeds, not as confident as a Porsche. It was quie unfortunate. Would you know if there is any way to fix this, perhaps stiffen it?
Sorry...I am not very familiar with modifications, but I am sure there are aftermarket shocks and suspensions. It is quite a good casual cruiser though.

My only concern is with depreciation.
Unfortunately all cars depreciate. The 911 holds it value quite well though.
@@carminered3229 ..that's my point Porsche appreciates and beemers are a penny a pound.

You should have driven the m40 not 3.0
Excellent !!
What a stupid comparison. 2 completely different cars, starting with the fact that one is a convertible and the price of the Porsche is much higher.
What a ridiculous comparaison
Good Job!!!😀
