Every team that’s usually in the top 10 has basically an entire new roster by the start of the new season. None of them are tested. None of them are proven. They’re all on paper. Why would it be any different for BYU
I speak Russian fluently, and have listened to too many interviews with Egor this off-season. The Russian pronunciation is dYO-meen, but the yo letter looks like an English "e" so it is usually said as "eh" in English, thus dEH-min. Most importantly, that's how he says it himself when speaking English, so sticking with that: YEY-gor dEH-min
I love the preseason 9th place ranking. Just like football was ranked near the bottom. And now they're 5-0 about to become 6-0. I think it's just as possible, or even slightly more possible, the BYU's basketball team will at some point be leading the conference in the same way that right now BYU is in second place in the conference in football. There's no reason for anyone to think that we are that good based on prior experiences and so we just need to go out and show them. Clearly I think the basketball team will do that but until it starts to show the results the way the football team has started to show results over the first half of the season, there's no reason to believe that they are any better than 9th place.
No Big 12 team was in the elite 8 last season. The conference had several teams in the tournament though. How many national championships were won by a team from the Big 12 in the last 50 years?
Who ranks BYU pre-season 9th in mens hoops?? BYU could be 9th nationally!!
based on a unproven team on paper, why?
@@matthewhunter6421that’s why he said “could be” I get it, readings hard.

😂@@jonathanmoody6631IRL? Proven and college basketball doesn't happen until months into the season in 2024. Way too much new roster changes yearly

I'm a Duke abd USC fan but i saw highlights of that scrimmage. Your team does have talent for sure.
BYU finishes top 5 in conference. Definite single (low) digit seed in the NCAA tourny. I expect sweet 16 appearance, probably great 8.
Final four is a must for Byu!

BYU is going to have a heck of a bench.

3 in the last 6 years….
Baylor and Kansas have won after 2020
Just another example of pre-season rankings being full of flaws......total crap shoot!!
I think 9'th place finish is too low.
Egor want his name pronounced Demin just how it reads normally. Deh-min
Trey Stewart is much maligned!? By who?
