7:40 I find the '900 billion dollar jiggle physics' thing hilarious because it shows how little these people know about game development. I can't speak for this game specifically, but adding reasonably good looking jiggle physics to and already completed model takes like, 2 minutes or less for an experienced game dev on most popular engines, depending how much they rush. It's a lot more accurate to think of it as a single 'jiggleness' slider rather than some 900 billion dollar witchcraft of technology. Seriously, go search up how to add jiggle physics in UE5, you'll be amazed at how easy it is.

Stellar Blade to me feels like a throwback to when big budget games focused on being fun and having attractive waifus. Tbh I thought the gameplay was mid. I hate that when you lock on you start to walk and mobility in combat was not what I expected. Also, dodging and parrying almost felt more like rng. The enemies attack also felt off due to revving and the slow guard readying felt strange. Not bad by any means but way overhyped. I will still get it on sale.
@@guitarsaremyfriendzzz7077 I do feel like guarding is a bit off in the demo, but the part about mobility is mostly due to the demo being a demo, since your can see there's an ability chart that enhance your combat speed (which is a much later in game thing). Plus it's better to think about guarding mechanic like that of Sekiro, but instead of deflecting you have to do evasion here and there so that Eve won't take too much damage and breaking her posture, but that's just my take

7:40 I find the '900 billion dollar jiggle physics' thing hilarious because it shows how little these people know about game development.
I can't speak for this game specifically, but adding reasonably good looking jiggle physics to and already completed model takes like, 2 minutes or less for an experienced game dev on most popular engines, depending how much they rush. It's a lot more accurate to think of it as a single 'jiggleness' slider rather than some 900 billion dollar witchcraft of technology.
Seriously, go search up how to add jiggle physics in UE5, you'll be amazed at how easy it is.

Even seeing models being made for VRchat I see that it's simple as weight painting the areas and then the testing.

Stellar Blade to me feels like a throwback to when big budget games focused on being fun and having attractive waifus. These games can still have realistic graphics and cater to an audience that just wants to game, not be talked down on all the time, cause then you lose the escapism, which is why a lot of us game. Also the CEO being married, to a talented female artist at that, will spark lots of jealousy. 😅

Tbh I thought the gameplay was mid. I hate that when you lock on you start to walk and mobility in combat was not what I expected. Also, dodging and parrying almost felt more like rng. The enemies attack also felt off due to revving and the slow guard readying felt strange.
Not bad by any means but way overhyped.
I will still get it on sale.
@@guitarsaremyfriendzzz7077 I do feel like guarding is a bit off in the demo, but the part about mobility is mostly due to the demo being a demo, since your can see there's an ability chart that enhance your combat speed (which is a much later in game thing). Plus it's better to think about guarding mechanic like that of Sekiro, but instead of deflecting you have to do evasion here and there so that Eve won't take too much damage and breaking her posture, but that's just my take
You can tell Eve was designed by a woman based only on the fact she’s cutely accessorized while still having such hot outfits. She’s made for male gaze while also having a fun factor for ladies. It’s good.
