+HisRoyalCarlness I squad with my good friend and we usually do a figure 8 style tactic (blow away the person on the other guy's tail) and it works amazingly now that we got it down to an art. But when we first started practicing, we had 7 kills each and 2 deaths each....2 deaths because we accidentally flew into each other hilariously. We actually realised after a 2 hour session of playing that we had rammed into each other more than the enemy teams had shot us down.
OK so "energy" fighting has a very big risk in simulation, its always a good thing to read the max speed rating for the aircraft. Or you might dive and half way threw your wings break away.
Just as a note on your first tip, it is probably more helpful to bind wasd to controlling pitch and roll, with Ctrl and shift controlling the throttle. This allows you to fly defensively while looking behind you, rather than only being able to pitch up or down.
if you use the wizard to change your settings to advanced keyboard control instead of basic keyboard control it makes wasdqe your pitch roll and yaw as well as makes shift throttle up and ctrl throttle down, like the layout of an actual aircraft.
This is how I get enemy off my tail:I spazz when I'm rlly da,aged or enemy is on my tail when I see bullet stop shooting I look behind NO ONE THERE YESSSSSSSS
Here are my personal tips: 1. If your plane gets significant damage, don’t be afraid to turn around and land at base for repairs. You get more points for surviving the battle and it’s worth more than risking a damaged plane to a dogfight. This especially reloads your plane so if you have a bomber, you won’t have to wait as long. 2. A lot of planes have flaps. The most common one are the combat flaps. Always use these in a game. It will make maneuvering much more easier. Some planes include flaps for takeoff or landing. 3. KEYBOARD USERS. Planes with multi armaments can be used separately. If you are targeting ground enemies, press Num pad 2 to use the cannons separately on them. 4. For console players, I recommend buying a keyboard and mouse. It makes controlling the plane much more easier at getting kills. 5. Don’t underestimate bombers. Bombers are commonly slow and sluggish but players that spent points on GA and GP as well as manually using turrets can effectively destroy even the strongest of fighters. 6. If your plane is going down, try to make a land on the battlefield. You get an extra 20 points and it’s fun to do. 7. If you are grinding a skill tree, and you unlock terrible plane (ex. Do 217) if you research the next unlock, you don’t have to use the recently unlocked plane. You can just order one of the previous ones and use the current crew for it. It will make unlocking faster if you use a plane that you are comfortable with. 8. BOMBERS ONLY. Don’t bring your plane down into the battle. Bomber aircraft are not meant for air-to-air combat and you will just be swarmed by players seeing the bigger fish in the water. Stay high and bomb objectives, only fight when they come to you. 9. Don’t crash planes into each other. You get nothing out of it and just waste a game.
Oh boy oh boy I love how Webe says that UK,Germany,USA,and Japan all have there own tactics but then just says "Good for low tier grinding, good late tier prop aircraft, and the Legendary Mig-15,and doesn't say what the Russian air tactic is. But us non-new players all know its: "Fly in the general direction of the enemy, maybe climb(it doesn't matter in Russian aircraft)fire your guns in the general direction of the enemy, kill the enemy with 1 round, rinse and repeat until the enemy team are all dead and raging in chat" But good video.
Well I am a new one player and today I was doing some dogfighting and then suddenly 2 planes which were better than mine started teaming up on me. I don’t know how but I was trying really hard to get them off my tail plus my guns were jammed so couldn’t do anything. I flew between this mountain and quickly dove and at the last I pulled up. One of them just crashed and the other was still on my tail. So what I did was I got a high altitude and then let him get some shots on me. After that I pretended that I lost control of the plane and was gonna crash. So he flew away and just when he did that I got under him and gave him one hell of a surprise
I wish there was a 'half liked it' button, there was a lot I learned from that. There was also a lot of, 'Well duh!" and a little bit of, 'Hey wait, I need more info'. But well done overall :)
I just got my first HE-111 and it is AWESOME. I was in a match, and after bombing almost all of the enemy tanks, I looked around to see what else I could do before the match ended. I look towards the center of the map to and see a huge bulk of the other players fighting there, having their turning fights and chasing each other in their fighters. I decided to barge through with my new bomber and let my gunners do the work, and it was funny to see the enemy planes scramble to try to take me out or fly away from me. My gunners downed two planes and got a ton of hits on others before the match ended.
About the playing fairly category…I’d add to not ram on purpose…it’s a huge problem in arcade battles. Accidents do happen but I see a lot of people (and have experienced myself) get rammed by other players on purpose. I know in low tier it doesn’t matter much since plane repairs are so cheap. But once you start going into like tier 3 planes, repairs can start to get costly (especially with planes like the p51 and the p47). Don’t ram someone just because you couldn’t shoot them down and you ran out of ammo…just don’t. If you run out of ammo, fall back/climb/disengage, and re-engage when you’re plane reloads. Use the time to even get a better angle at the enemy so you don’t miss so much on your next attempt. Also remember you’re flying in 3d space!! Don’t just turn after someone. Take advantage of the fact that you can turn going up or down and even lose energy quickly if you’re going too fast by climbing and doing a barrel roll or two and extending your flaps. These tactics can keep you on your opponent’s 6 or get you there more easily. Lastly, learn how to fly defensively. If you’re getting chased and shot at, maneuver, but also some planes (like the US fighters) are really good at out-speeding others so sometimes it may be better to just book it and gtfo, or climb and make them stall out. You may also want to lure opponents to your teammates or friendly AAA. This is really useful in RB where AAA can cause some real damage. Sometimes opponents will have tunnel vision and blindly chase you into friendly territory and by the time they realize they’re surrounded by your friendly planes and forces it’s too late (and you’ll give someone on your team a chance to score an easy kill). I’ve been playing WT since 2013 and I’ve learned these things the hard way and I’m still learning. People say WT isn’t fun anymore but I find it quite addicting especially if you know what you want to do (grind, play for fun, play realistically, etc.). Like for example I’ll play a few rounds with my good planes (since they take over a day to repair) in RB with complete controls and use purely the cockpit view if I want to have fun (I enjoy the realistic flight model with the cockpit view…just so much more immersive), but I’ll play with my low tiers on AB with mouse controls if I’m grinding… always something to do on WT!
@@PrykarJR so by default they’re set to auto-repair. The starting planes don’t require points to repair. But other planes require points or they can be repaired in time (lower tier planes can take minutes while higher tier planes can actually take days). The first few battles you have with any plane, the repairs are free. This isn’t a huge problem because repairs up until mid tier planes are cheap enough to use points to repair them (after like rank 3, repairs start getting pricy, but that’s not a problem for me because I tend to linger in ranks 1 to 3…those planes are super fun). If you wanna grind, stick to tier 1 planes. The repairs are close to free and it’s great to score high with easy kills. Plus you get the hang of the game
@@ricardofranco7419 Thank you for explaining something I didn’t understand and some other stuff. Now I feel guilty for ramming that teir 4 plane head first with the default plane.
@@PrykarJR haha yeah, I mean it happens by accident but in the lower tiers people are still learning to play so they want to get the kill. So they miss a lot and don’t get enough hits to take down the enemy so they try to ram them when they run out of ammo. No need to feel guilty. Just learn and you’ll do better 😉🙌

When you miss the target and you do a loop, you should do a 1/2 barrel roll when you hit the apex of the loop. Would be like if you ride a roller coaster with a loop, soon as it hits the top of the loop, get up on TOP of the loop and finish the loop on the OUTSIDE of the loop. you literally do not lose any more speed if you didn't do it...... you still stay on target (as long as you STOP the roll soon as your plane is right side up) and as you finish the loop you are in a better position to do a hard bank or keep straight line or.... whatever. It's a maneuver real pilots use. A true Immelman you don't finish the loop.... soon as you roll your plane upright at the top, you just keep going. It is literally the fastest, most efficient way to turn around and go the opposite direction. not only is it the fastest way to do a 180..... you also gain a good amount of altitude by doing it too. Not only are you still moving at a good clip when you complete it, but higher up too and going a complete 180 degrees from your original heading. By finishing the loop and going into a dive after you do it..... well.... you turn completely around, are at a higher altitude and in a dive ready for your next run. The Immelman is probably the easiest and most simple "stunt maneuver" you can pull off with high precision pretty much 100% of the time. ua-cam.com/video/4TjHs7XMOgo/v-deo.html - This shows a by-plane doing it at a airshow, and he ends it in a dive at the end. ua-cam.com/video/QcE7CTgwYo8/v-deo.html&feature=emb_logo - This shows it from a plane P.O.V.
Thanks bro, you helped me find the pitch axis. I've been seeing everyone using it and I never knew how to use it and I found it thanks to you, appreciate it! Keep up the good work!
Quite good tutorial :) Although I would discuss with one thing - the steering settings are all completely personal and I think that you have much better control over airplane when you are using your mouse, not keys (on keyboard or mouse). Also I believe that not many people will use boom and zoom tactic, because it requires quite a lot of patience and a little bit of planning ;) Also joining one big clusterfuck can sometimes give you a lot of fun :)
9:45 I wish people would stop perpetuating this myth. Airplanes have virtually no armor. There are only small pieces of armor that protect the pilot, and they can't stop a direct hit anyway as they are less than 10mm thick. The difference in thickness for the pilot armor on Japanese to American aircraft is virtually non-existent. The difference is in how the airplane is built, not in how its armored. Japanese aircraft were sometimes built without self-sealing fuel tanks and with lighter and less redundant sparing and the like in their airframes compared to the American ones. Thus most American planes can take more hits and not lose a critical component or burst into flames, but its not because they have armor plates installed that are deflecting more shots.
Play fair also means: don't camp in your spawn when you're the last guy and the map is unbalanced towards your enemy automatically losing after time (like Saipan can sometimes be).
+PeaceTheDragon -Gaming,Animation and More you need to pay money or get a premium account, which costs money, but don't worry, unless you are a p2wer they are worthless
Webe... I started playing war thunder, and now I'm so much better, and the only tip I used is the pitch up and down on the mouse's sidebuttons. Thank you!
TY So much been palying for 3 yrs and just muddling. Start with US Bombers and torpedo runs then trying to graduate. Fantastic data and build for a f2p game!
Here is what i do when i play as a tank. If the target is far away, i snipe him off like normal. But if it is close, then i charge and ram into it, spraying it with my machine guns and the cannon. (MGs on tanks are usefull too!)
Great tips mate, i usually finish 1st 2nd or 3rd on my team so i'm not bad at the game but i found the tip about binding a 'pull up' key intriguing and will definitely try it out. Also, never tried tank battles before, it was good to see some footage of it, i didn't know they had the neat little damage indication window in the top right and that might make me slightly more inclined to try it out :)
This game is like WoWS, WoWP, and WoWT but mixed together and take the amount of storage it takes to get one of the games which is like a lot of gigs when you add it up
Thanks webe u really helped me even though i am tier 3 I didnt know u can loop with one button that is very useful to me can u make a vid about defesife tactics i am not bad when it comes to shaking someone off but could use some help thank you
+Zohaib Ahmed Hey man! I don't really do WarThunder anymore, but channels I can recommend are MagzTV, SquireFlyer, TheOrangeDoom ect! Great for that kinda of content!

When i play arcade battles it always feels like we're outnumbered because half of our team alway seem to be at the h8ghest altitude doing god knows what
Energy fighting is especially useful in RB. On arcade almost anyone can climb at ridiculous rates so it’s not outside of the realm of possibility that you’ll occasionally get some fire from below. In RB though… that’s totally not the case! I love energy fighting in combination with choosing my targets like a buffet 😅😋
Just wondering, how did you use these countdown slides with the war thunder theme, as in where did you get them to use them. I am just starting my channel and am going to be uploading some war thunder top 10s in a similar way to you and I would love to use these countdown slides in my videos.
The only planes I use are Germany’s. Any Stuka (except R-2), the Do-17, and the Bf-109. I love the Stuka, as it brings to life the bombing aspect of the game. Everyone thinks it’s all about dogfighting, but bombing plays a huge role, and the Stuka is the plane for the job!
When I play biplane I kill everyone When I use any other than biplanes instant death even though I am fighting in br4+ with biplanes can't with anything else
I'm new to War Thunder, I'm a former veteran World of Tanks player so I'm currently only playing tanks in WT. I don't know which tree to go up, I can't really tell the difference... I like bombers and planes that won't die as quickly as others :)
+Harut Rehanyan you will be surprised, bombers are targeted quiet a lot in Realistic battles as they own the objectives. I personally Finished the German tech tree first, they have some pretty sweet jets and medium tier aircraft which to be honest. Own in their own respective.
Also, Consider tanks. Not many like but alot love them. i personally have maxed German, British and almost russian tanks. They are alot of fun. Regarding Planes, just hop in a couple custom battles of realistic best way to get use to the controls and different flight models compared to Arcade. Down side is you cant earn Lions or RP in custom :L Happy Flying - J
It's personal preference, but for me - W&S to pitch up and down doesn't feel natural. For me they are what my brain prefers to use for speed up, slow down.
my advice for beginners. fly and improve all nations to buy yourself time, and don't try to move up tiers very fast. with biplanes you can practice all the maneuvers in slow motion :) and get really good at it before you start facing experienced opponents with fast planes and get wasted. by flying all nations you also get to learn your opponent planes. once you have a high rank you wont be able to face inexperienced opponents to practice your skills, so take your time moving up. and don't buy planes that are above your overall tier level. you will face higher ranking opponents with better planes than your overall plane levels.

Thanks bro, you helped me find the pitch axis. I've been seeing everyone using it and I never knew how to use it and I found it thanks to you, appreciate it! Keep up the good work!
lmao I can imagine someone reporting to a moderator telling them that this one player keeps kicking their ass! XD

Tip# 11: Play on PC and spend money on vehicles/upgrades.
Actually it's not really a pay to win paying makes it easy to get better planes but you still need to be somewhat good at the game
i think it's quite p2w on the tanks
Prilixy tanks don’t count
This video Should be in museum
Watching this video in 2023 and seeing all the old tips is very nostalgic

Thanks. I just starting WT, and it’s a big transition from World of Tanks, a game I play a lot

The one where you dive up and down is called " Boom and Zoom" and was used by p47's
Didn't know about crew points and that flying technique, Thankyou.
Great tips WeBe. cheer's mate
Play fair also means: don't camp in your spawn when you're the last guy and the map is unbalanced towards your enemy automatically losing after time (like Saipan can sometimes be).
Just realized this video is 365 days old today :P

+WeBe how do i get golden eagles?!
Thank you!
Iv flown starfighters jets gliders Pilot wings to il 2 birds of steel to Star Wars

Such a perfect clear articulating for anyone to understand not to mention -very informative.

Me, already on TIER IV but with a potato aim: *interesting*
TY So much been palying for 3 yrs and just muddling. Start with US Bombers and torpedo runs then trying to graduate. Fantastic data and build for a f2p game!
For number 1, I actually have shift as throttle up and ctrl as throttle down, and W and S change my pitch
I just got the game today and good thing I saw your video pop up very very helpful thank you
"Crew skills are an important part of war thunder"
Me: I didn't forget to put on crew skills, I merely failed to see
watching an ad for war thunder before watching a video about war thunder... well done googlebot.
great vid, informative, clearly spoken advice, understandable directives, thumbs u and subscribed thank you for a great vid man .
Here is what i do when i play as a tank.
If the target is far away, i snipe him off like normal.
But if it is close, then i charge and ram into it, spraying it with my machine guns and the cannon. (MGs on tanks are usefull too!)
can war thunder PS4 players play with war thunder PC players
+Savior Drake I doubt it. PC players would have quite a big advantage
+Savior Drake Yes they can.
+Savior Drake PS4 players and PC players can share the same battles. I have the game on both systems but I prefer PC.
+gajunas dabusinskas Good, but weaker earlier. You need to unlock couple of planes and then they are very good. Best turn fighters.
+Savior Drake yes you can i talked with people on pc while on ps4( i played with mouse and keyboard)
Just started to play. Great video, thanks for tips!

Great video. well presented you have earned another sub mate!
Shift + Ctrl is next to my left hand already though.
I do agree that PgUp and PgDn would be a disaster.
It's still a convenience to have it on your mouse tho.
even though this vid is old these tips helped me alot! tnx!
Aweome tips , thanks , and new subber :)
hello, thanks for your video, what is Key M84 and M85? the two buttons left of your mouse?

I was teribble at the game before but these tips helped me a lot thanks :3
Glad I could help!
I am tier IV German both tank and aircraft. Thanks to the video I know what is BR and that German AC is meant for boom and zoom.
if you didn't know that it's a miracle you've gotten this far
Thanks to this vid I know why I am dealing with tier 5 finals.....bet I am lucky
+Tra Roberts He's a dirka dirka.
An old video I know but that key binding thing...gah. Do mousers need any more advantages?
As a mouser I say yes we do muahaha.
This game is like WoWS, WoWP, and WoWT but mixed together and take the amount of storage it takes to get one of the games which is like a lot of gigs when you add it up

+Zohaib Ahmed Hey man! I don't really do WarThunder anymore, but channels I can recommend are MagzTV, SquireFlyer, TheOrangeDoom ect! Great for that kinda of content!
+WeBe MagzTV is my favorite one :D cuz he is PRO at war thunder and always explain how and why he does that so if u arent so good or just want some good fun watch his videos

When i play arcade battles it always feels like we're outnumbered because half of our team alway seem to be at the h8ghest altitude doing god knows what
Can u make the Flying fly like in battlefield 1943 Haven’t anyone ever played that game it’s not that hard of a question
Downloaded this last week...literally have been hooked ever since.
Are there any other flight sims like this at all?
Wait how do you move the camera without moving the plane? Is it the same for tanks as well?
8/10 video!
Press and hold down c to look around
I think the pitch up and pitch down would be more useful for evading aircraft while being able to look at them
simulator is the only way to go. much more fun to play realisticly
For pc
The thing is I play in ps4,and I can't even takeoff, the aircraft just rolls on the ground,I wish I had a pc

Just wondering, how did you use these countdown slides with the war thunder theme, as in where did you get them to use them. I am just starting my channel and am going to be uploading some war thunder top 10s in a similar way to you and I would love to use these countdown slides in my videos.
Thanks bro it really works you are a pro! :O :)
THANK YOU THAT VIDEO WAS REALLY USEFULL!!! :D
#1 Tip; newbies are just one-shot easy targets for the Old Guard. A pointless grind.
I set my graphic options to the highest possible but it still doesn't look anything like yours.. wtf is the problem?:(
How do you start the game? I've down loaded the game but I don't know how to start the game.
Launch the game from the icon and click play in the bottom left
I just got this game and I am having a blast
The only planes I use are Germany’s. Any Stuka (except R-2), the Do-17, and the Bf-109. I love the Stuka, as it brings to life the bombing aspect of the game. Everyone thinks it’s all about dogfighting, but bombing plays a huge role, and the Stuka is the plane for the job!
Is there an advantage to using a keyboard and mouse over a PS4 control?
Bro please make n video where you go over your settings.
When I play biplane I kill everyone
When I use any other than biplanes instant death even though I am fighting in br4+ with biplanes can't with anything else
Most of them are bots when you are at low tiers
same
I've been playing American for my entire war thunder career but I'm getting tired of it and I want to try a different nation which one should I pick?
+Poshu Ng RAF or luftwaffe or USSR that is what i play
German
+Two Nerdy Noobs Luftwaffle loool
+Poshu Ng USSR is the most powerful one.
Hermann Fegelein Fuck no.
I had a feeling the trick to this game was mouse aiming
It would be cool if there were joystick only servers
Sim battles have that
I guess…. WeBe subscribing to this man
I use WASDQE for plane control and right shift and control for gas up and down
Hey WeBe, have you 100% maxed out every Brit plane? If so, how long did it take? (I'm doing the same thing.
Is Germany a good country to choose
Husayn Harith yes as they have Stukas
_"...so avoid being shot at..."_
Well.. he's not wrong 😂
What's the point of playing realistic battles? More income? Just for the challenge?
A lot more income, and a bit harder, the most challenging is Simulator.
Oh ok. Thanks
Also, Consider tanks. Not many like but alot love them. i personally have maxed German, British and almost russian tanks. They are alot of fun.
Regarding Planes, just hop in a couple custom battles of realistic best way to get use to the controls and different flight models compared to Arcade. Down side is you cant earn Lions or RP in custom :L
Happy Flying

should I increase my gunner skill in crew setting for a fighter plane
is it gonna increase my accuracy???? pls answer ASAP
XENON no, as you have no gunners XD
Thx for all the good tips for a new player like my self ✌️🤣 Hope to see you in the battlefield mate 🤓🛩️ hopefully on same team 😂
Why not bind your pitch up and down to W,S and make shift, ctrl your accelerator??
It's personal preference, but for me - W&S to pitch up and down doesn't feel natural. For me they are what my brain prefers to use for speed up, slow down.
"so avoid being shot"
every other nation: wanna have a bad flight
This game is just absolutely brilliant, it's one of those games I wouldn't mind spending money on now that I know it's so frikin good.
#1:
up and down = w and s
left and right = q and e
roll left and right = a and d
Who wishes that they were still in the beginners lobby’s were it was all easier then and fun.
are battle-ratings stacked up, or is the highest battle rating on your best vehical used to measure your skill
my advice for beginners. fly and improve all nations to buy yourself time, and don't try to move up tiers very fast. with biplanes you can practice all the maneuvers in slow motion :) and get really good at it before you start facing experienced opponents with fast planes and get wasted. by flying all nations you also get to learn your opponent planes. once you have a high rank you wont be able to face inexperienced opponents to practice your skills, so take your time moving up. and don't buy planes that are above your overall tier level. you will face higher ranking opponents with better planes than your overall plane levels.
Ahh, a perfect video for me, someone who has been playing since 2016 and has over 1700 hours of game time :D
