I've had my Crosstrek Wilderness (Alpine green) for about a month. Mine was $48,000 (Canadian) taxes and all included. Not one second of buyer's remorse. I absolutely love the car and my wife says if we didn't have 2 years left to pay on her Civic, we would have a second one in the driveway.

I just got the new Alpine Green CTW as well…love it. Sticker price was $34,790 (U.S.), no moon roof or HK speakers, but through a few discounts I ended up paying $32,396. Saved enough I even got the 4 yr/70,000 mile extended warranty.

I bought this exact model/color just a month ago and I really do love it. Exactly what I was looking for. In one month, I'm already over 5500 km lol

One advantage of the Wilderness is the increased towing capacity. 3,500 lbs vs 1,500.

Just bought exactly this colour (alpine green) and what a handsome colour, it's SO beautiful! Also so easy to spot in the partking lot of blacks and whites especially with the gold trim on the hood. The ride is so smooth and I am very surprised with the awesome leg capacity inside for my 6'1" husband. Love it for city drive and countryside. If you want more horsepower - obviously you have to buy a bigger SUV. DUH!

i test drove one today and i agree that it needs a more powerful motor. i previously drove a forester 2.5 x 2004 5 speed manual trans and that had get up and go but Im doing auto trans now. It also needs that front camera. pity they dont have it. I tried the screen. dont have anything to compare it to but i take your word for it that its slow. im torn between the alpine green and the burnt orange.Thought the ride was quiet and suspension was good. Felt smooth and solid and quick handling.

While I totally understand why everyone wants a turbo in a Crosstrek, I actually don't really want to push them to do that. I think people need to remember that Subaru is not a huge car manufacturer. They don't have very many models, and they don't have vary many trim levels because it gets incredibly expensive. Part of what makes Subaru such a great car maker is that they keep their variables limited so they can re-use parts between vehicles and making them with extremely high quality. They probably don't produce vary many turbo variants and adding a turbo variant to a different car with different weight, different torque, bigger wheels, and supporting 3500lbs of towing capacity is not as simple as slapping a turbo on it. Adding a turbo variant could raise the cost for both the Crosstrek and the WRX, just because they have more turbos to manufacture and also have another spec they have to add to the assembly line. Subaru is really good at making bullet proof cars for super cheap because they keep their overhead low and don't chase squirrels like slapping a turbo on a Crosstrek. If they can figure out how to do that without sacrificing production costs and repairability, I'm all for it. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about having fun. But at the same time, what you're asking for goes against what makes Subaru such a great brand.
Subaru also makes some of THE MOST REPAIRABLE vehicles on the road. Adding a variant could force them to either cut corners or squeeze profits out of other areas like making certain replacement parts either more expensive or impossible to replace without taking it to a dealership. Dodge literally made their LED headlights on the Durango unreplaceable.... There's no bulb to pop out and swap. You literally have to buy an entire headlight assembly to replace a headlight.... Oh and you have to remove the bumper to replace it. What they did should be illegal. But that's how you squeeze profit and save money to make up for their massive production volume. I'm fine with a chill Crosstrek that gets there when it gets there haha.

I think if they made a Turbo option on the Wilderness tuned for… Rally mode. They would sell a lot of them. If they can charge 2k+ for the Harmon system they could charge a premium for a Turbo option. Maybe 2026?

I really like mine but I agree there are some misses. You mentioned the lack of a front camera, so that's one. I also think not including a heated steering wheel is a big miss. As for wanting the 2.4L Turbo, I'm right there with you. Of course, I'm thinking that would push the price to around $40K. One thing I noticed is that you did your acceleration test in I-Mode. Believe it or not, S-Mode does help it feel a little quicker.

Why are all reviews stating that it's not 0-60 in 5 sec. I traded my 2014 Trek for a 2024 wilderness. I love it because it's much faster than my 2014 and it's an all round everyday and bad ass off road hunting and fishing extension of me. And love alpine green as everyone's first comment is " I love the color". I am sooo happy with this vehicle as I was with my 2014. And the cabin is beautiful.

I figure if I find it necessary I'll buy an aftermarket front camera. And it doesn't actually have a full size spare, so I will likely be buying a full size matching wheel and tire and locking it down on a roof basket if I go on long adventures.

The thought of a vehicle weighing less than it's towing capacity is strange. Towing 3500lbs with a CVT transmission also seems like a recipe for disaster. Everything about this vehicle seems right. Except for that transmission.

To have a "Wilderness" or any Crosstrek without heated steering is horrible. In Canada, they get it in the Oynx, which is a great line. Also, rear light is not LED but regular hallogen.
