About us:
We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We decided we wanted to document our lap for the future and began sharing weekly travel vlogs of our life on the road and fell in love vlogging, filmmaking and sharing our lives with you. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. We have gone on some crazy adventures since then and it is all thanks to you tuning in to join us every week.

The Skyrail keeps stopping to let people on and off, just as it stopped for you. The plant that grabbed and wouldn't let go is called Wait-a-While... obviously 😄It's everywhere in the rainforest. Its a great region to explore. Enjoy! Looking forward to watching more travels
Yep figured that later when we saw them slowing it down at the drop of stations haha That plant would not let go can see where they got the name from!

Ive had some fun experiences the skyrail, the SES vertical rescue team in cairns regularly trains rescue techniques at night while its closed, in the unlikely event the skyrail breaks down, they would have to climb the various towers and then slide down the cable to the cars, rappel inside and set up a rig to lower everyone to the ground. And if stuck over the river everyone would be lowered into flood boats! Definitely tested the nerves!

Just a tip, anything with a heating element (like a straightener) has a decent amount of draw, so idle the truck while you’re using it and the DC charger will keep the battery topped up.

all of those poles, concrete and lines had to be completed with helicopters as the builders needed to make sure that there was as little damage to the rainforests as possible. looking out towards the sea you can actually see Green Island. Great work guys.. 👍👍👍👍
If the protesters would not had stop the Skyrail they would have cut the trees. Thanks Manfred he sat in one tree for a long time and even got married up there. I wonder if you saw the markets in Kuranda they are nice and lots of good food.

Thanks for watching. Sky rail stopping was very weird 😂 but when it was stopped it was so quiet up there all you could hear was the birds and insect! Would have been so nice to see the water clear that would have been amazing! Hope you guys are travelling well and catching some fish!! And crabs 😁

Happy birthday Megan and congrats on 30k subs. Jack please just bit the bullet and go lithium. Your 240ah is only 120 in reality. If you drain it more than that it will kill it very quickly. Money wise there are great option at a reasonable price out there. Personally I went with 200ah VoltX batteries for $850 each, you can get the 100ah for about $469. Once you do it you won’t know yourself.

You picked a fantastic time to be up here, & with all our rain we’ve had this winter it’s very green.
While your up this way.
Take a drive up to Cape Tribulation.
It’s so worth it, & I recommend it to everyone.
There is a ample parking up there.
It’s honestly when you think of the rainforest meets the sea, & it literally does.
Also Palm Cove it’s beautiful on the esplanade with all the Palm Trees on the water’s edge.
It’s what my kids call “instagram perfect”
Another place is Pt Douglas as that’s beautiful also.
One last thing is please enjoy our beautiful winter guys 👍👍

We actually went up that way last year and your right cape tribulation is next level hey! Palm cove has that holiday vibe. we did pop in and check out port Douglas a couple weeks ago it was not what we expected it was bigger than we anticipated similar to palm cove but on steroids haha.

Butterfly Park under the Kuranda cable cars.
Jack, after seeing Megan on her tip toes when cooking, what if you put the max trax down with a piece of carpet over it, if it’s stable enough to stand on. That way you don’t have to carry anything else with you as they are always available and easy access. Just a thought 👍🏻

I'm a fan of corriander. It's an essential ingredient in a lot of the South African recipes I enjoy (particularly Bitlong) and it's not bad in a salad as well. 😁

Another great way to start the week watching you guys over a coffee - thanks for another entertaining vid, couple of nice mile stones guys congrats, Megan - you still look like you're 20 you super star🤩🤩, thanks for the little out takes - you guys crack me up, "take my hand take my hand..... pull my finger hahhahahahahhhhh, you didn't mention the butterfly enclosure - is it still there??? also the little train that used to run between Cairns and Kuranda, doing early walk and miss breakfast is called intermittent fasting and if you want to drop a few kg it's one way to do it, just stretch the time between walking up and your first meal over a couple of weeks - I can vouch that it works. Will be interesting to see how your new batteries go running the inverter - given you will effectively only get about half the usable amps

The butterfly enclosure was still up and running although we didn't stop and check it out now thinking we should have tho! we have kept up our walking before brekky and have noticed a difference in body fat we feel much better. so far the battery's are going well but dam does our laptop chew the power when Megans editing! Hay you guys should of took the train up and sky rail back down best of both worlds .. imagine Jack on a train that go’s through tunnels 🤣🤣🙂, but you have to start in Cairns and a really good French restraint in Kuranda amazing crape’s . Also if you haven’t done it the Mossman Gorge walk is amazing those big trees a photographers parodies, yes not raining would be good but it is a rain forest 🤔🤣🙂. I think it is the better than the Daintree walk or just different I know money is tight but you only live once’s 🙂.

Looks like I was there around the same time as you and in the middle of editing my Kuranda Video now..... I love the Skyrail but you really need to do the Train up and Skyrail back to Smithfield....gives you a whole different prospective. Next time hey :), but also do the Glass bottom gondola too
The skyrail does stop a lot and makes you freak out whats going on, but after a few visits, it's seems to do it all the time!
How good was the skysail hey! yeah we definitely looked into the train ride and wish we had done it! But we still had an absolute ball that's the main thing hey. Also is Kuranda just a beautiful place.

9:06 Who needs a drone when you can be the drone ;-) The short clip of driving down the Kuranda Range at 17:42 reminded me of a time years ago when I met a couple who lived in Kuranda , she was driving down the range and the brakes on the car got way hot and jammed on so she had to leave the car on the shoulder of the road to go get help ( pre mobile phone days ) when she got back the car was gone .
Stolen ? Nooo , the brakes cooled down while she was gone and the car rolled and went over the edge , bye bye car 😢

That is such a beautiful part of the the country... Want to be careful of cassowarys though if you see them in the wild... they can be very dangerous if provoked... Lol that looked like what they call the "wait a while"vine on you mate... because once it hooks on to you it takes ages to get out of it. lol I hte corriander... I am one of those people where it tastes like soap... lol even as a child back in 1980 I remember that winding road down into Cairns... We would fly to or drive to Cairns from Brisbane and then drive to Mareeba to visit family,
Cairns is an amazing part of the world for sure! The troopy struggled up that hill but it is a nice drive! Couldn't imagine how long it took take lay that bitumen! bloody big hill haha

The jerky parts you see are because our camera doesn't have built in stabilisation I (Jack) always pick up on it. only problem is we are not in the same spot to re film it when it comes to editing the video. we are saving our Pennys for a built in stabilisation lenses it will make a huge difference.

Just a Question, how do you go with getting stuff sent to post offices, how long does it take, how long will they keep it there etc etc etc ?
We use a system called parcel collect at Australia post max weight is 21kg works great for us! 😊👍
