You seem like a good guy..promoting the locals and bringing fair picture of these sleepy towns. Ergo ..helping lift people out of poverty .one person CAN make a difference and you are a perfect example of that..thank you !
One of the most thorough, fairly and equitably shot video of a lazy, but yet tremendously productive surf towns I've ever seen. Your leisurely stroll, care and respect of the native locals is a huge comfort to the eyes.
I finally feel confident to explore Punta de Mita more after 7 years living in PV! Thank you for showing us the area and affordable places to go. I've made trips up that way before, but felt intimidated by the private communities and high end shops. You showed us more of the local scene... ¡Gracias! 🙏🙏🙏
This was a really good video. It was relaxed and took its time in showing the different areas of the town really giving one a sense of the place from high end to modest. And your breakdown of costs at the end was also really helpful. But the cost of some of the real estate advertised was eye opening indicating that it's an area that is being developed for a higher end clientele which means inevitably it will lose some of its charm in the years to come and price out the local population.
think planet earth, You are correct and I think it is a growing problem in the area. Much of the beach access in the area has been bought up by large, high-end projects, and public access is very limited. The town of Punta de Mita is one of the few exceptions in this area and I hope that it develops with support for the local businesses that exist there.
Amazing shots of this beautiful surfing town. They make me feel like I want to stay for a long time surfing every golden sunset. Thank you for this great production, Jim!
Punta de Mita is a luxurious resort town on the Pacific coast of Nayarit, Mexico. It is home to ritzy 5-star hotels, golf courses, pristine surfing beaches, and a sleepy Mexican pueblo. There are a handful of things to do in Punta Mita that combine both luxury and local experiences.
What a fabulous video and such a great place to experience through your eyes and talent . A joy to watch your month there unfold from your camera and onto my screen. Everyone looks relaxed and gloriously happy. All as it should be in sunny, fabulous Mexico.
Awesome, Jim!! I didn't know about this channel! But I think it's one of the best travel/living channels out there! well done, and thanks for sharing these experiences! Bobby!
The guys car with the cut fruit is made of two cars welded together. He is very nice! The oxxo is where you can get the bus out of town. Highly advised as the sewage coming out of the manhole by the new construction while we were there in January was spewing out and going down to stinkys. Your really rolling the dice swimming or surfing in the water near town! We also found out that the nice beach with good surf on the other side of the breakwaters has an outfall from the 4 seasons resort just by the edge of the golf course. Of course there is not much else to do in this town except eating and with raw sewage pumping up right in the main road downtown we left our accommodations two days before even needed to. The people in town were very nice but with our neighbours barfing all night after surfing at stinkys all day we just packed it in.
Wow ty for sharing that. I have been wanting to travel to see something new. It would be great to take my grandson and I. I am delighted you you also had fun there.
Joseph Hurtsellers, In Punta Mita, there is very little Real Estate available and a 2 bedroom condo is going for $500k. I will be putting out a video soon about more rentals. In Bucerías or Vallarta, just down the road, you can find places for half the price or even less. I will post more videos soon.
@@LivingOverseasTV Thanks so very much, my wife and I actually purchased a place in bucerias about 6 months ago. We are very glad we did based on what is happening there with real estate now. Hello, I'm a big fan of your channel UwU, the content is very cool, Claudia Fabiola is my English teacher and I learn a lot, the channel is very cool 👍🏻
I have an inflatable SUP i used when we stayed at Secrets Bahia Mita Surf and Spa which is to the east of where you were. I had a blast surfing it there. Thanks for highlighting the Onda, it looks like a good place to bring an inflatable. They can be unwieldy to bring into a hotel room
Scott King, Thanks for sharing your experience. I surfed Bahia once during my stay in Punta Mita and it was great. I agree, bringing the board into the room can be a challenge but it's still better than pumping it up every day. Next week I'm heading towards PlayaTroncones and la Salidita for more SUP surfing :)
I was there back in 1995 I believe it was. Things have really changed! These prices are pretty close to what you would find in the states. Good to know as I’m considering moving to Mexico for part of the year. Nice place to visit, but too expensive and seems like a tourist trap
Parker Bolt, Prices here are very expensive compared to other places in Mexico but very cheap compared to other places with a quality surfing beach like this. Try comparing the prices to Malibu. If you don't need to be within walking distance to great surfing you can cut your costs in half around Bucerias and other less popular beach areas.
Very informative video Jim. You get better each time I watch. The descriptions and prices help. Do you think it would be worth a day trip to do surf lessons? We are staying in PV in June. Thanks.
M J, Thanks! Yes, I absolutely think it would be worth it. You can take the public bus to Punta Mita from Puerto Vallarta. I also think the boat trip from the Marine Collective is worth the time. Let us know how the surf lesson goes.
Great informative video, I truly enjoyed it. Keep up the great work. One question, how and from where did you make the reservation for lodging? Were you aware of this container hotel or did you go to the most reasonable priced hotel with private "rooms", which I like, because of the private bathroom. Could never do hostels...or share a bathroom. What are the most reasonable priced months, besides winter. I don't care for cold weather or cold water beaches. Take care and stay safe.
Ernestina Sanchez, There are links in the description. You can book rooms from Onda directly at: ondasurfhotel.mx/ Originally I found Onda just walking around Punta de Mita. I have stayed there many times now. I think their rates are higher from mid-November through January. Let us know if you visit there!
I've tried yoga on a paddle board before....but I definitely do not look as good and was rather more comically to watch than successful at executing the moves, lol. Great video, keep up the good work.

Old Hardrock, I agree. I really like that it's still one of the few towns in the area that has direct beach access. I hope that the locals can hang on to that. Too much has already been taken away by rich resorts and private villas.
