  • Policy Seminar:
European Green Deal -- Farm to Fork Strategy for Sustainable Food
Co-Organized by IFPRI and the European Union
    FEB 18, 2020 - 12:15 PM TO 01:30 PM EST
The “Farm to Fork” Strategy, part of the European Commission’s Green Deal, is integral to Europe’s ambitious response to climate change challenges along the food chain. The “Farm to Fork” strategy reflects the ongoing transformation of food systems worldwide and the goal of making Europe’s food system the gold standard for sustainability. “Farm to Fork” is also linked directly to current discussions on the future of the Common Agricultural Policy.
The EU experience is highly relevant to the debate around food system transformation-Europe’s policy- and private-driven initiatives demonstrate that green best practices can be successful in jointly increasing economic efficiency and environmental and climate sustainability. This seminar will review the “Farm to Fork” strategy and its implications for European and global agriculture.

I appreciate some comments Tassos made especially later in this video....seems to actually consider other aspects than just the goal of getting rid of CO2 ! He seems to actually care about the PEOPLE ! I especially appreciated comments by M. Ann......who seems to understand how crucial regenerating soil is to all & to succeed with changing, cleaning up environment & air (CO2 emissions).

Green sustainability isn't all about just reducing Carbon CO2. It also includes the illimination of harmful pesticides and insecticides etc. That are harmful to the environment and even seep into our drinking water.
More and more episodes of cancer are appearing in humans in areas of intensive farming, these farms typically rely on bad practices to get the most out of their land.
That's why bio solutions, using nature's own remedy's are a balanced solution that we should all be turning to.
