    When it comes to taking care of naturally textured hair, always go with what works best for your hair method and product wise. Never get caught up in copying anyone else’s exact curly hair care routine, because no 2 heads of hair are alike, so through trial and error don’t be afraid to find out what truly best suits your hair and scalps individual needs and stick to it. Don’t get caught in engaging in tons of product hopping like a lot of curlies get into doing, and then it ends up affecting the overall health of their hair and scalp that way. For a hair mask, I would highly recommend the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Conditioner. I just purchased a twin pack of that today along with the new Aussie Miracle Repairer Conditioner. The EVA NYC MASK is also a really good product to try. I have used it in the past and really loved it a lot. I honestly find certain beauty supply and certain drugstore conditioners to provide much better slip and moisturization to my hair than plenty of expensive conditioners that I have tried. In your hair care regimen, you should always have 3 types of shampoos: moisturizing shampoo, clarifying shampoo, and a exfoliating/scrub type of hair and scalp cleansing shampoo. Our hair and scalps are exposed to do much, pollution, dirt, oil, lots of product buildup, and more. I was just using one cleanser for my hair and scalp, until I learned better through a professional cosmetologist that just using 1 shampoo all the time doesn’t cut it. Our hair and scalps need to go through exfoliation, clarification, and moisturization. No one needs to buy super expensive for that. Because, just because a product is very expensive, there’s no guarantees attached to it that it will perform tons better than inexpensive products. Since all products have ingredients in them with chemical names attached to them, including water. product is chemical free. And, our hair only absorbs 36% of any product we put on it, regardless if it costs 5 dollars or $50 instead. Finding what works best for you through trial and error and when you start finding what works best for your individual’s specific hair needs stick with such. It actually takes around 3-6 weeks for a person to see a level of marked improvement to their hair with any product, unless it gives you an allergic reaction or your hair responds badly to it, way before that 3-6 week period, they you have every right to trash it, as you see fit. If you ever notice areas of breakage or split ends, make an appointment with a salon to have such be properly taken cared of ASAP. Never Rey and repair such at home, because a person will just simply be prolonging the inevitable, which is going to a professional cosmetologist anyways. Not all professional cosmetologists are the same, so definitely always do your research real good before you go to have any professional cosmetologist ever put their hands on your head, period. When it comes to protein testaments, that is something that has to be recommended upon by someone who is able to analyze your hair up close and personal, because, so many times I’ve seen people use products with protein in them in large amounts too frequently and protein overload occurred. They automatically thought that the cure to every hair woe they had was to use something with protein in it, well our hair is made predominantly up of keratin protein, so unless something is done to one’s hair, where the keratin bonds in your hair has been severely broken, then you would need to have a protein treatment used or a bond reconstructor. Bond reconstructing products are actually better for the hair, since they don’t dry out the hair, as they go to work helping to re-strengthen the hair’s bonds not only temporarily, but for the long-haul. Protein treatments and bond reconstructing treatment products don’t work the same. Protein based products are not something one should ever use on their hair, just because they feel, that their hair needs a protein boost. If the keratin protein in your hair hasn’t been severely weakened in any way, then the hair isn’t in need of a lot of unnecessary protein based products being used it, which can lead to marked dryness and in many case cause damage, that one will then need to have to work to reverse. You can have healthy hair and still incorporate bond reconstructing products into your hair care regimen and use them without fear and as long as you use them correctly. Like I said previously, the only time you should trash a product before giving it 3-6 weeks to really work to visibly improve the overall look and feel of one’s hair, is if you catch an allergic reaction or it somehow just doesn’t agree with your hair at all, then you got to do what’s best for your hair and trash 🗑️ it. I use products from Olaplex within my current hair care regime. I definitely don’t use every Olaplex product from their line in my hair and honestly no one needs to. I only use what was recommended to me by the professional cosmetologist that I now only go to see for maintenance follow up visits at this time. I of course use non Olaplex products too, that happens to rock best with both my hair and scalp, of which the professional cosmetologist I see has no problems with. However, I had gone over 15+ years without a professional cosmetologist touching my head, because I was trying to take care of everything on my own. That ended up being my issue, figuring that after I decided to transition and go natural that I could handle it all on my own. That end up leading to problems, plus my becoming a major product junkie ended up causing a lot of issues too. That eventually all of it had need to be overturned. I have found that sticking to a streamlined, yet simple hair care regimen and being consistent with it is always the best route to go. I can tell you, at this point, I am a reformed product junkie. Because, no one needs tons of shampoos, tons of conditioners, tons of deep conditioners or hair masks, tons of leave ins, tons of hair oils, tons of hair moisturizers, tons of curl creams, tons of styling gels, etc, within their product stash at home at any given time. You only need a few products and that is it.
    As long as you find products that work best for your individual hair, then that’s what matters most. Every hair care product out there in the world is not gonna work the exact same for everyone’s hair. As a human being, you are free to try products from any brand you desire that is within your budget. And, what doesn’t work for you, my dear, one thing I always recommend is to save your receipt, and if you can get your money back for a product that either gave you an allergic reaction or that just doesn’t mesh well with your individual hair best at all, then most definitely return it and get your money back for it. But, because, I have never tried every product within every hair care brand and honestly never will, it would be unfair to me to tell you what brands you should stay away from and what brands you should buy from the most. I would never stop anyone from engaging in what is called “trial and error” and learning what works best for their hair the old fashioned way.
    Something that a lot of individuals with naturally textured hair, don’t understand is that refreshing your hair with water is not the best for it. If that is something that’s fine on a weekly basis, it actually adds to frizz and what us asked hydras fatigue. What is a much better option is either a special curl refresher mist, or actually using a rose water mist. As long a you aren’t allergic to rose water, or you don’t like the smell of roses all that much, then I would say skip it. But, rose water offers a great way to control frizz and add shine. Rose water has a similar ph level to human hair and therefore provides powerful hydration to your strands therefore making it less dull and frizzy. It can be used in between hair washes on both the hair and scalp or even on one’s hair wash day too. It is easier to use it in mist form and rose water is something that is so;d at a lot of stores, so it’s not hard to come by, even online as well.
    I certainly wish you all the best with your curly hair journey. Sending lots of positive, curly vibes your way 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕!

    Your hair is so pretty ❤❤ but the reason why so much hair is falling out while brushing is because it's a styling brush(denam) rather than a detangling brush. I would recommend using the denam brush after u have detangled your hair to prevent hair from falling.

    Hi there! I also started my curly hair journey 2 years ago and I’ve learned a few things so far. The ausie line I don’t think is that good of a brand and same thing with shea moisture. I’ve been using Camille rose and mielle, those two brands are great for curly hair. And I also use skala for curl cream and it’s been a game changer!

    New subscriber! Im a lazy natural too lol. Have you tried brushing through your hair in the shower while its full of the aussie moist conditioner? I use that conditioner with the Tangle Teezer brush and its a lot less hair loss during detangling. The Denman brush always takes out a ton of my hair because the bristles are too heavy. Then once im out, i use my spray leave in and products to style like you do.

    when a gel cast forms over ur hair, do u add anything to soften it (like oil) or does it naturally go away throughout the day?

    • @kktmariee
      @kktmariee  6 місяців тому

      okay so i used to use an oil to scrunch it to soften it up but i ran out and then never bought more LMAO, so now i just let it naturally go away over night 🫡
