I saw this in the 80s on tv as a kid, I always remembered it. It's a good jingle, complete with the montuno for some international flair and a big minorized ending.
Cheesy? Better than every commercial out there trying to push their products through very unfunny humor. Makes you feel like one of the elites by using this credit card.
I remember this commercial, I would have been 10 when it came out. I was singing this song but to house hunters international. my wife thought it was from love boat, but I said, no its an old Mastercard commercial. she thinks they ripped it off from love boat.
I was about 13 or 14 when this commercial was new, depending on what time of year it was. (My birthday is August 30th.) Some people on here find the jingle to be annoying, but I've always thought it was fun and catchy, as is the commercial, itself. I've never been a world traveler, but this commercial makes it look like fun!
I believe MasterCard has done a good job over the years of introducing new ways to pay. But, the product MasterCard II has never been issued by any Pennsylvania bank.

Among the Berks County, PA banks that issued MasterCard credit cards in the 1980's were American Bank, Hamilton Bank, Bank of Pennsylvania, and National Bank of Boyertown. All four banks are now defunct.
If they did 2020 remake of this commercial, I wonder how it would look like. Airline Safety videos of the past decade seem more epic with more realistic scenes compared to this commercial.

It was basically the first 'Debit' card, billed as a way to use your own money without carrying cash or having to write a check.
