I had the pleasure of attending a scotch tasting at Total Wine last week that had a livestream of Dr. Lumsden (and another gentleman whose name escapes me) where he took us through samples of the Glenmorangie "Original," the Lasanta 12 year, and Tale of Tokyo (as well two offerings from Ardbeg, the 10 year and the Uigeadail, but I was already familiar with both of those). And I thought Tale of Tokyo was absolutely sublime. One of the notes that I picked up on throughout was almost like incense, like a sandalwood or nag champa. I eventually picked up a bottle for myself (I found it for just under $100USD at another store). I tend to favor more peaty smoky Islays but Tale of Tokyo is a delight. Glenmorangie actually suggests using it in a Rob Roy, with sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters, and garnished with cherries and a sprig of rosemary. So I tried that as well, and it is delicious!
That sounds like a good idea... I think ill give it a try!
I am looking forward to trying this tail, definitely the cake was best for me, and ladies and gentlemen try that Rye you are not going to be disappointed! It's delicious and I'm not a Rye drinker, It is very very good.
Awesome video Bill!!!
Tale of cake is definitely my favorite!😂 I've been on the overnight shift and recently moved but I'm back and you still the greatest my brother!!!

Yes, I read your captions.
Glad to hear. I try to think of something new for every video, but nobody has ever mentioned it so thought it would be good to know if people cared.
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary i'm usually at least mildly amused by them
I appreciate the pour myself
Approved..
Do we know how many Mizunara cask was used? Or was it just another trick they played? mix like one barrel with 20 barrels of bourbon cask
Based off the flavor, I don't think it was anything like that. Feels like a good amount.
I think it was between 20 and 30 barrels based off my unverified research
Mandarin orange? You dork! 😅
That is an interesting oak to use. Not to knock it but it reminds me of the coffee made from the coffee berries pooped out by a lemur or the sushi made from poisonous blow fish. Why go through all that for something so troublesome? Maybe that is the allure…….
I'm such a dork
What part of New England are you located? I am in Mass
Same. Central MA. Northborough
What is your favourite from the Tale of... series?
So far, A Tale of Cake is my favorite, with A Tale of the Forest in close second.
The "Tales.." series could have been great, but I feel I'm paying mainly for a fancy box...
