This worked flawlessly!! I upgraded my 512GB SD to a 1TB SD and it took 21 hours, however, after the waiting time and doing the steps on the video it works and I no longer have to worry about space on my switch! Thank you Sthetix!!!!
was litterally going from a 512 to a 1tb and it was taking forever but the bar kept saying 1 hr 5 mins.. after 2 hours i got bad sectors and said screw it. but glad it worked for u. just wish i could choose NOT to transfer games just os and hacks to save time

HOS version not supported/or emummc corrupt......failed to lounch HOS" . please help. it took 11h to clone it. thank you

Forcing thats much of work to sd card sounds dangerous for a fingernail sized memory. Is there a possibility of them deteriorating due to high temperatures? I spent 100 dollars for 1tb card dont wanna to take risk :(

worked great, thx! I first made a backup of my old smaller sdcard (512Gb) with win32DiskImager on a windows pc, than i flashed this image to the new one (1Tb). then I put the 1Tb card in my pc and opened Aomei Partition Assistant and recognised that my emuMCC partition was unfortunately NOT the last partition on the card. So I could not expand the visible partition. To solve this problem I had to move my emuMMC Partition to the end, so it is the last partition of my 1Tb microsd. I did this with Aomei Partition Assistant. After that I could resize the visible partition. After resizing I could finish the whole process as described in your video with "fixing RAW". --> The bigger microSD works great!

Great guide. Migrated from 128gb sd to 256gb without any issues. I would recommend using a usb 3.0 card reader though as it took a while with my usb 2.0 card reader.

Well I followed your guide and it didnt copy over any of my files for some reason to the new card so i gotta error saying "Error while loading fss0:" But the fix was to just copy/paste my backup to the new card and everything worked.👍. Btw HDD Raw Copy Tool was an Awesome alternative for cloning since AOMEI was transferring so slow it wouldve taken me 3 days lol. I even used the old version you had in the video and it was completely useless for some reason. Thx for the guide though....Im now rockin a 1 TB card in my Switch👍😌
It didn't work for me. I followed all the steps as described. After installing the new SD card and going to "Migrate emuMMC", "Fix RAW" is grayed out. If I try to boot anyway, I get a fatal error: "Invalid GPT signature". Edit: It worked after doing the drive clone a second time. Likely the first time was cancelled prematurely due to an I/O error.

I am upgradimg from 256 to 512gb but it has gone 3% in 15 hours... i have an sd adaptor slot in my laptop and an anker usb c micro sd reader, which i put the other micro sd in... is this why its taking so long? I have the other option to put the micro sd card adaptor inside the ankor micro sd reader as there is two slots. Should i cancel the current procedure and do that instead? Will it be quicker if there both on the same ankor micro sd reader?
So i'm trying to migrate from a very full 1tb to a new 1.5tb and i'm 6 hours in it says Current Operation Progress 1%, total progress 1% and filesystem scanning 10%. Will it be done (in a few days) when filesystem scanning reaches 100 percent, or is that just the first part and this is actually going to take weeks?

I am getting a weird issue...in which Aomei shows me about 12 partitions while in windows it just shows me 3 (emu, android,...). If I clone source sd card to the new one, once I swap the sd card "fix raw" is disabled and if I try to launch it will give me an error saying that it only has gpt partition. Hi! I have followed your guide but at the end the option "fix raw" is greyed out and when I try to boot, I get an error... What do you think I did wrong? When I insert the original SD, the "fix raw" option is there. Also when I go to the "SD partition section", on the original card, I see green and red bar like yours. I get the same results... :( A green bar and an orange (instead of red). The readable files of the FAT32 partition are there but I cannot set the raw partition. The migration is from a 128gb SD to 256gb brand new kingston SD. I'm thinking that the problem could potentially be the card readers... I'm using 2 different cheap Chinese card readers. Maybe the information of the cards is not read correctly by the program?
@@sthetixofficial Hi again. I've managed to fix it and I would like to share my findings in case someone else gets stuck. Firstly, I used a different laptop (I don't think that was part of the problem, but I did it anyway.). Secondly, I used the onboard card reader of the laptop to read the original/source mini SD and a good quality USB3 card reader that a friend of mine was using to transfer photos and other media files for the target SD. I've followed the guide as before and everything worked fine! I suspect that the problem was the super cheap Chinese SD card readers that I was using... The clone program was not able to properly read all the necessary information of the RAW partition (that's why the switch was recognising it as an android (orange) partition. Anyway, thought you guys wanted to know... Thank you very much stetixofficial for creating this guide and for taking the time to answer me.
i've had some trouble with my sd card so I did a hard format and trying to clone the partition again but I keep getting sd card is locked or being used by other program when nothing is running only have the partition software any fix for this ?
@sthetix I have a question: My Switch is currently running version: 16.0.3|AMS 1.5.3|S . I had someone mod my Switch and he said he installed a chip into it (It blinks green when I turn the console on and it boots up like normal), and I can install games with tinfoil. I did everything and the "RAW FIX" it transferred but it is not using the new space from bigger MicroSD after it booted up. How do I add more space to it?

@@sthetixofficial Wrong. SD Card is fine. I did the whole thing again with the HDD Raw copy tool (again +10 hours of copying) and was able to boot in hekate and play also the games, but the cloned sd card is just the same size like my originial card with 29GB EmuNand and 400GB partition, but this time with a 500GB unallocated partition which I can't use. There is no way to merge the 400GB with the unallocated partition. The only way I guess is to delete the whole SD Card, set it up with the EmuNAND and install all games manually. Totally a joke. Wasted more than 20 hours for nothing.
@@AlexKidd_83 THE same thing happened to me with a brand NEW 512gb Samsung...I tried at least 3 times and same...I cloned the drive with HDD Raw Copy same as you card would worrk perfect but it would be the old size...so what I had to do was to use AOMEI to expande the partition THEN format the new expanded partition with GUIFotmat(Fat32) and copy all the games back to the newly formatted(expanded) partition. be careful NOT to use the HIDDEN parition for emmuc partition...leave that alone and only use the space where there is nothing.

Just do what I'm currently doing, delete the games and reinstall after.

maybe your visible partition is fat32. backup the files, reformat to exfat and paste the files again

How long did it take for you? I’m doing the same right now 1tb > 1.5tb migration my 1tb is 99% full to….
@smokinv8 honestly it took like 4 days. But what you need to know is that the first percentage complete is like 3/4 of the time it will take overall

if you don't have the emunand inside a hidden partition then copy pasting will work
Didn't work for me when I tried upgrading from 1 tb to 1.5 tb SD card. Get Unknown pk1 version HOs version not supported or emmc corrupt
maybe you need to use a different card brand.
@@sthetixofficial did hdd raw copy and resized manually and it worked.
There is a bug in hekate that broke it for me and others on 1.5 tb sd, supposed to be fixed in new version
you should make a Mod Video for Switch Same as your Luma 3DS videos :)

my switch has 3 options on boot SYSMMC (Semistock) SYSMMC(CFW) and EMUMMC(CFW) for booting into stock OS and CFW, will your guide work on this occasion too? or I will loose the option for the Semistock ?

Hi! I have followed your guide but at the end the option "fix raw" is greyed out and when I try to boot, I get an error... What do you think I did wrong?
When I insert the original SD, the "fix raw" option is there.
Also when I go to the "SD partition section", on the original card, I see green and red bar like yours. On the new card, I see green and yellow (Android)... 🤷🏽♂️
Maybe the app didnt copy the partition correctly?
@@sthetixofficial thank you for the reply... I tried it a second time... I wiped completely the target card, deleted all the partitions and carefully followed the process again. I get the same results... :( A green bar and an orange (instead of red). The readable files of the FAT32 partition are there but I cannot set the raw partition. The migration is from a 128gb SD to 256gb brand new kingston SD.
I'm thinking that the problem could potentially be the card readers... I'm using 2 different cheap Chinese card readers. Maybe the information of the cards is not read correctly by the program?

@@sthetixofficial Hi again. I've managed to fix it and I would like to share my findings in case someone else gets stuck.
Firstly, I used a different laptop (I don't think that was part of the problem, but I did it anyway.).
Secondly, I used the onboard card reader of the laptop to read the original/source mini SD and a good quality USB3 card reader that a friend of mine was using to transfer photos and other media files for the target SD.
I've followed the guide as before and everything worked fine!
I suspect that the problem was the super cheap Chinese SD card readers that I was using... The clone program was not able to properly read all the necessary information of the RAW partition (that's why the switch was recognising it as an android (orange) partition.
Anyway, thought you guys wanted to know...

Followed this to the T, sadly, the new card presents a failed to mount SD card when adding to the switch. Oh well, must have to follow another method
i've had some trouble with my sd card so I did a hard format and trying to clone the partition again but I keep getting sd card is locked or being used by other program when nothing is running only have the partition software any fix for this ?

@sthetix I have a question: My Switch is currently running version: 16.0.3|AMS 1.5.3|S . I had someone mod my Switch and he said he installed a chip into it (It blinks green when I turn the console on and it boots up like normal), and I can install games with tinfoil. Can I just copy and paste all the files from the 128GB to my 1TB micro sd card without any issues or do I need to follow this guide? Thanks!

I tried dling the free version like I think you showed/did, but it says to do the clone/commands, I have to get the pro version ;(

because if you have the emummc inside the hidden partition, you need a specific way to clone it.
I did everything and the "RAW FIX" it transferred but it is not using the new space from bigger MicroSD after it booted up. How do I add more space to it?

You think is it possible that backup my sd card to my internal pc's storage. Then restoring them to new sd card from my pc's ssd? (Only using one card at the same time) Because I ordered new sd card and it is not arrived yet.
possible if the app support it. I think aomei cannot do it. You can try using the hddguru.com/software/HDD-Raw-Copy-Tool/ instead

I did everything as showed in your video, but after inserting the cloned SD Card and trying to boot hekate i get the message ,,Failed to init or mount SD". Going from 512 GB to 1TB. How can I fix this?
Your sd card is damaged , try checking it again using your PC.
@@sthetixofficial Wrong. SD Card is fine. I did the whole thing again with the HDD Raw copy tool (again +10 hours of copying) and was able to boot in hekate and play also the games, but the cloned sd card is just the same size like my originial card with 29GB EmuNand and 400GB partition, but this time with a 500GB unallocated partition which I can't use. There is no way to merge the 400GB with the unallocated partition. The only way I guess is to delete the whole SD Card, set it up with the EmuNAND and install all games manually. Totally a joke. Wasted more than 20 hours for nothing.
@@AlexKidd_83 THE same thing happened to me with a brand NEW 512gb Samsung...I tried at least 3 times and same...I cloned the drive with HDD Raw Copy same as you card would worrk perfect but it would be the old size...so what I had to do was to use AOMEI to expande the partition THEN format the new expanded partition with GUIFotmat(Fat32) and copy all the games back to the newly formatted(expanded) partition. be careful NOT to use the HIDDEN parition for emmuc partition...leave that alone and only use the space where there is nothing.
Hey, just so you know in the Android app UA-cam does not let you select all notifications. It has a failure. For some reason you account is set to child friendly so that's why you can't do that
