As far as the WCT goes, Jordy is not my favorite contest surfer to watch, and in fact, my favorite surfer on the Tour, Michel Bourez, may be his polar opposite. That being said, however, this clip evidences why Jordy is my favorite free surfer and is potentially the best free surfer in the world. Also, this video highlights how he is more than just a surfer, but is a true athlete because he is so in tune with his equipment. He is a true inspiration for my surfing.

Jordy has looked better and better compared to everyone else, despite that injury. I reckon that 6'2'' will take him to a title.... unless Kelly figures it out and goes back to the longer boards. Then he'll have a challenge!

I think Jordy should be thanking you all for funding his 60-80 boards. you pay 850 for 1 and he gets 60 for free, plus sales money on the ones he sells. I haven't paid more than 375 for a surfboard for about 15 years, and hopefully never will. I love watching kooks with 800 dollar boards that pay for a logo and wouldn't know the difference between what they are riding and what they are not. the surf industry has gone to shit, huge mark ups with no reward. all those model boards are machine shaped and you want to pay nearly 1000 dollars for it??? yes pro boards are weak as piss and break when u sneeze on them but come on, your all paying to fund pro surfers to fly around the world and surf perfect waves, while u stand on the beach at your local break watching mushy waves roll in, holding your 800 dollar board thinking it is going to turn you into a super surfer because it has the same logo as your favourite surfer or better yet is apparently the same model they ride. I'm getting a custom board hand shaped and freighted for 350 by a shaper who's son is on the WQS. obviously his son gets free boards but he isn't charging me or others 800 to fund his sons boards. no one had even heard of js surfboards until parko won his world title now everyone rides em and pays top dollar for them. do u think parko will win a other world title? hell no he won't but will the price of js surfboard reflect that, I fucking doubt it. so keep it up kooks and spend ya hard earned money on a board you really have no idea about. surfing used to be an individualist sport, now it's full of sheep that do the same as the next person cos they are too scared to try something new on their own.

Like many other things, surfboards are shape art, with performance and handling personalities,… and some of us like spending money on that, in support of the artists and supply chain. And eventually we / I find a magic shape-model-and-size.
