Yes, I have a couple other full concerts from this tour that I will upload in the future. All are from the same source - a friend of mine who was hired by Davy to video the concerts for prospective projects that sadly never materialized.

I am most impressed by Peter on bass. He didn''t play bass on Headquarters with exception of "you may just be the one" He has said he didn't like playing bass. INHO, Chip Douglas was awesome so it made sense for him to play on Headquarters. I give Peter credit for being a team player and playing bass for this project and I think he sounds pretty good,. I was also surprised by some of Mike's lead guitar work. Mike has mentioned in interviews that he realized he isn't a great guitarist, but just like Peter on bass, I think Mike sounds pretty good on his lead guitar bits.
BTW, I always liked Mike's Monkees songs as much or more than any of those provided by Don K's team. And I will always say Peter's keyboard solo on "The Girl I knew Somewhere" is as good as anything that the wrecking crew came up with.
I will always love the Monkees. All things considered, when you hear them playing "Sunny Girlfriend" in this concert, I really think you can say you would not have expected 4 guys picked to play a fake band for a TV show would sound that good playing an original song all by themselves. Same is true for "Mary Mary."
Of course, it is also great to see Davy playing guitar on a song he co-wrote. Lastly, Micky really grew into being a decent drummer over the years . Apparently, he kept on practicing after Headquarters. On latter Monkees recordings made after Headquarters, Micky focused on his vocals and let studio drummers play instead. Chip Douglas has spoken about the difficulties he experienced trying to record Micky at the time Headquarters was being recorded. Micky was relatively new on drums at that time. They used Chip's Bass work to cover up Micky's unsteady drumming. But now you can hear Micky is perfectly fine as a drummer and can sing while playing, not every drummer can do that. Chip Douglas has commented on how much better Micky became over the years and you can hear it in this concert. I give him credit for gaining that skill over the years when his primary income had nothing to do with learning to be a good drummer Go Micky!!!!!!

Wow! These guys have grown as musicians. No one now can doubt their talent. If at one time they were not a real rock group they certainly are now. They proved with that concert that The Monkees can hold their own when it comes to music. Some of the songs Mike Nesmith wrote in my opinion boarder on the kind of stuff CCR did. (For those of you who do not know who CCR is that's "Creedance Clear Water Rivival" That was a great concert.

I can remember back when the rumor that the Monkees were not a band and didn't play their instruments. I was incensed at that. Well they have proven to be great musicians and a group that stood the test of time! Many other bands over time don't have the apparent comraderie Mike, Micky, Peter, and (God rest his soul) Davy. demonstrate to thìs day . I agree- they belong in the Rock and Roll hall of fame!

Man, I miss these guys. They were supposed to be prime-time TV characters but they turned into a real band. Their abilities as pop-rock songwriters, together and individually, seem/ed obvious. Listen to the new comps they're doing here, as well as those from the Headquarters album. If Mike and Peter and Don Kirshner could've come to terms in 1968, there might've been far more hits and they might've eased better into the changing musical trends of that age.

I always loved the Monkees. The first album I ever bought was Meet The Monkees at Lechmere Sales in Dedham, MA. So, it was an honor for me to be able to interview three of the Monkees on my national radio show---Mickey, Davy and Peter. Micky and Davy were down to Earth and very sweet---Peter not so much. But, I love this video. May Davy Rest In Peace. He is missed.

Before we lose any more Monkees... Put these cats in the R&RHoF ASAP!!! Music videos, "reality" tv... MTV! The synthesizer, boy bands, the list is endless when you think about all they accomplished as a group. Sure they were "PREFABricated" but the cats who put these 4 dudes together struck gold... Mike was a musical genius and arguably was a key component in the founding of Country Rock. Peter was also a musical genius and was a master of multiple instruments. When he left the band after that 33 & 1/12 Revolutions Per show the group suffered greatly. After Mike left it was pretty much riding on fumes. RIP Davy. And Micky... My nigga! That cat LEARNED to rock them skins and was, IMO, the best vocalist of the 3 GREAT singers in the group... And what other band can boast that "the 4 Kings of EMI" threw THEM a party?!?!?! MTV needs to do another all day marathon like they did in '86 and let today's upcoming gens get a taste of "Monkeemania" like Boomers and Xers did... The Monkees may be 50 but the tv show, and most of the music, are STILL somehow timeless... Very few other groups of then and today can claim that fact to their list of accomplishments. the haters of then, AND today are estuped ... History WILL redeem the Monkees!!! but let it happen BEFORE another is lost to us as has been Davy... And Head was a great flick!!! WAAAY ahead of it's time! The Monkees! Man to have been at that party with them and the Fab Four... Imagine! (No pun intended)

God Bless Our beloved Davy who is singing his heart out in heaven and never ever will be forgotten. I am glad the boys got together twice one for the memorial for Davy who was not only their band mate but their brother and did a tour this year. I wish they would get inducted in the R&R Hall of Fame. They proved time and time again to the critics and did it for 47 yrs. I wish their was something we could do about it. This was music and I enjoy it. Their TV series was great and heart broken when it stopped and I never missed a show. They are wonderful and always will be. Thanks again and I so much enjoyed.

    Suzanne,
Thank you for posting this wonderful video of the Monkees UK 1997 “Just Us” reunion tour.
It’s a shame they didn’t make it to the USA that year.
With David and Peter’s passing that won’t happen again, which makes this film an important moment in their history.
The next step is to get them into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, where they deserve to be.
This performance documents just how good they really were (and are).
