I love y’all’s beans. I love your shop because when you buy vegetables, you have an option on the seeds you want to purchase I love that. I’m in Houston Texas and we have a feed store here and he sells. He’s one of the old school. he sells seats by the scoop… He told me a lot of feed stores don’t do that anymore, but I always buy cover crop from him
Coastal central Florida please send us some of your rain. I have not had enough rain to wet the cement of driveway in several months. My garden went from glorious to dead. Even plants that I have had for several years have died. Yes I water and mulch but it just isn’t like rain.
We had those worms on tomato plants when I was a kid my sister planted some tomatoes and we got worms. My brother picked him up put my coffee can and put some lighter fluid on him and let it on fire, but I don’t know what they did to keep them off theplant all I used to hear when I was a kid was Sevendust so maybe that’s what they did
Spider mites are my nemesis. I’ve never been able to wipe them out but if I do battle with them all season long I can keep them from doing quite so much damage.
After all I’ve gone through this year with my health issues. Plus my wife I was able to get mad while trying to put a farm implement on tractor, having a very hard time with it, so I picked up that implements and trying to make it go on . Then I thought oh I’ve messed up now for such. I had done more damage to my back . Well the next morning I was able to walk with out pain, that was about 4 months ago.to this day I’m still walking. I got out and made a small garden. I just order some supplies from you guys yesterday Greg. Before the bugs get here.
Here in S/E middle TN on the Plateau we've been getting 3-5 days of rain 0.5-1.5 per day and then 3-4 days of dry. It's been pretty good so far. My corn is struggling a bit and my okra is slow to grow but everything else is trucking along. You can use any of the aerial parts dried as a tea for anxiety and relaxation(most commonly the flowers). The Old Goat is in the sifter in the corner. I always dust flea beetles with white wood ash, been working for 30+ years
I call aphids something else. It's really a random selection of words I can't use among polite society LOL. They are easy to kill, but not easy to get rid of. I haven't found an organic one and done solution. Haven't had much rain, but if I want rain I spray for insects, then it comes and washes it all away. No rain in the 5 day forecast so tine to spray I guess.
The spring season was hard for me. I’ve been gardening for a few years now and I have found that black beauty zucchini is my go to for zucchini. And this year my zucchini has been pitiful. While my zucchini suffered this year I have found a lot of success growing a few different culinary herbs. I was able to successfully grow basil thyme rosemary and sage!
A couple of years ago during your Christmas show you each recommended one product that Hoss doesn’t sell. Greg, you suggested the Benchmade Bugout. I bought one on your suggestion and it’s been in my pocket every day since it arrived. Worth every penny. If it’s not the perfect knife, it is the perfect every day carry. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have more trouble with leaf footed bugs. This year my peas have turned into a trap crop for that problem. I had a good onion crop this year as well. The Old Goat is in the metal bucket on the first shelf behind Sheila.
I have a red passion flower, Lady Margaret, which is a hybrid. Makes fruit, but hollow inside. They do propagate by vines just popping up around the mother.
Well, the Ole Goat seams to be ready to help mix or scoop something up for the garden. Looks like he is inspecting the galvanized scoop on the bottom shelf behind Mama Hoss (Love those Overhauls Mama Hoss!!!). Nice knife there!!! Benchmade is the real deal for sure. I bought a electrostatic spray unit to try this year. It is "supposed" to give a more uniform application and stickage to the plants due to the electrostatic attraction. I have not used it yet though. Another insecticide I like to use is Monterey's Garden Insect Control which is a Spinosad based organic product. Sort of between the BT and BugBuster products on the pesticide scale IMO.
The old goat is on in the metal cup on the bottom shelf by Mama Hoss. We don't have to go fishing we just sit on the front porch and the fish are coming to us. Would be nice if the cornmeal would come too. We would have us a fish fry 🤤.
The Old Goat is in the metal sifter behind Momma Hoss. I love the Row by Row Garden Show, I learn so much with every episode I watch! I actually have a notebook that I take notes with every week when I watch the show. Thank You for sharing all the knowledge!!!
I used Bug Buster II on my Zucchini and Peppers. Been picking cucumbers so I used Spinosad on them. I am getting those little pickle worms. Got to stay on top of them.
Old Goat is in the sifter behind Mama Hoss. I have so many lady bugs, dragon fly's, and many other good bugs this year so I have not been spraying anything this year. The only bug that I hate is the Melittia Cucurbitae to the point I am going to stop growing squash in the spring and just do a fall planting.
I had those horrible squash bugs, and I got so desperate to get rid of them, I took dawn degreaser dish soap (heavy on the soap) and water in a sprayer, and it killed them but I still did a second spray just in case.

We had an odd spell mid spring and I believe it is the reason my corn is tasseling early. Planta only about 2-3 feet tall. Should I pull them out and start over, or will they produce? I am in Central Alabama.
Question- what bug is it that makes soapy looking bubbles and is a little green bug inside? Never had em' before now. Ole goat is in the flour shifter behind Mrs. Hoss
I have been invaded this year by thousands and thousands of rolly pollies!! I live in NW Georgia. They are all in my vegetable and flower beds. My chickens would be obese if they ate em all! I don't want to use anything not safe for me or my animals and we get so much rain I hate using DT cause I have to constantly reapply. What would you suggest? Thank you ahead of time!
I have heard horticultural oil no go for the Florida sun . Not much difference than Georgia sun. I thought oil causes more sunburn to plants. Please clarify.
That is a tough one. I did find a homemade remedy, I do not know if it works or not. For a homemade remedy, mix three parts castor oil and one part dish soap. Add four tablespoons of the mixture to a gallon of water. Soak the tunnels and entrances to evict the moles and soak the holes to evict gophers.
