Kummy

Kummi is a popular folk dance in the Tamil Nadu -of India. Standing in a circle pattern, the women perform the dance. The absence of any accompanying music is a unique element of the dance performance. Dancing may be different, in some places it is very simple with rhythmic clapping . In some other places dancers imitate various harvesting activities. Kummi is often accompanied by kummi songs.The rhythmic clapping that generates the rhythms where the dancers holding hands, move forward, bend down, and clap their hands in a repetitive dancing routine.
