I know it's 6 years ago but I'll try my luck anyway Did you use the standard throttle cable? What's the make and model of the carb please? Are you running premix? I'm working on two of these in Australia at the moment, appreciate anyone's feedback
I am from Thailand The model that I have is Yamaha sa50 ME Original Cylineder, original exhaust pipe. and all original engines except carburetor. I replaced the carburetor with a Yamaha y80 carburetor. idle jet No.35. and main jet No.100. The air inlet of the carburetor does not include any filters. Depending on the performance of your engine too. The color of the spark plugs so beautiful color the oil, not too much or too little. The maximum speed I can do is top speed 62km/hr. Measured by GPS
@@pathompongphayakkasam hi dear, i also want to try as u did..btw can u advise how u connect the carburetor to the engine and the fuel hose..understand the original have unique BVS system..
@@musecic The way I connect the carburetor to the engine is I first built a .carburetor intake manifold to fit the Y80 carburetor and engine. which the connector between these two, the original parts cannot be put together. It's a piece that I made by myself. The preliminary method is I use stainless steel plate with the same square size as the original Then drill holes for tightening with bolts to the engine and holes for air and oil passages. and a stainless steel pipe machined to a size that fits into the carburetor Y80 can fit from Connected to have an air that when wearing the carburetor, the carburetor will be in the right plane so that the float in the carburetor works normally. When the two parts, which are stainless steel plate and the pipes that I had machined to the desired size and distance, so I welded them together. (I meant welding parts on the carburetor intake manifold. After finishing the carburetor intake manifold I installed it to the engine seal with a gasket. and with liquid gasket to ensure there are no air leaks. As for the fuel supply to the carburetor, you can use the motorcycle Petcock, also known as the Gas Vacuum Fuel Pump Valve, in the way that is commonly used in motorcycles. Another thing that I would like to recommend is the y80 carburetor. The choke hand should be adapted to the pull handle choke on the part that handles the motorcycle by using the appropriate length cable. for ease of use. While starting the engine or while the engine is still not hot, it will help make the engine easier to start. My bike that I have installed on the left hand grip. When opening the shoke while the engine is still not hot, it makes starting the engine easier. After a hot engine there is no need to use it again. Spare parts of this motorcycle that are still the most available in the world. Most of them are found in Malaysia. And there is a group of people who preserve and still use this motorcycle. 😉
Did you just buy a carb and throw it on or did it require any modification? I have an 82 passola and the carb is completely shot and I am desperate for a new one. This is something I might have to look into if I can purchase a Piaggio carb.

After a lot of mucking around it turns out the original carburettor is the way to go!
