Yea, true about the gym membership! Getting me back in shape! My wife was laughing at me, yelping like a puppy from the pain getting out of bed the next morning!😅 I, however, love the scope. It is clear, holds zero fine after I tightened the rings, and I know how to deal with parallax. I know there are better, but I never had anything near that nice for the first 20 years I shot firearms out to 300 yards on groundhogs IF I had a scope at all. 4x to 6x fixed ×13 or 25mm. Most WW2 sniper scopes were 2x or 4x fixed and 1/2" to 1" objectives. The gun kit was $240 on sale with the accessories! I can remember when a recoil hardened scope like that was that much after inflation and I'm not a senior citizen. A stock like that for a Mauser, etc, is $200+ USED. A comprable scope that can handle a springer and mounts goes for around $100. It's intended customer is introductory small (not tiny) game hunters, not dedicated airgunners, they nailed that in spades! I will check mine, stock screws in wood often loosten up as it cures. Great review and good points! 😊

Wow! All the negative comments! I have nothing bad to say about mine at all. Before I bought it, I watched several reviews on it and read hundreds of comments, 90+ percent were positive. Try pricing out a stock of that quality for a rifle. The negatives were cocking effort and not being given a scope worth more than the rifle in the box. nothing as scathing as I see here. Mabey, you got a lemmon. Anything is possible. I didn't expect $1500 PCP airgun. I wanted to upgrade from my Red Ryder and Remington pump .177 to get groundhogs, etc. With at 30 yards and not have to buy or carry an airpump. I was impressed with the quality and one hole accuracy. It's a hunting rifle, where the first cold shot goes is what counts. It's gas charged, compressing any gas geneates heat heat raises pressure. Let it cool off. If the first shot hits the bullseye every time (it does) and the second is within 1/2" it's fine for hunting. Maybe it likes a little fouling in the bbl. If you miss It's your fault at that point. They don't sell parts? The parts are free for 5 years, and for the price of shipping, the people who know how will fix it and guarantee their work. I am a long-range shooter and machinist with experience in metallurgy. Great materials and workmanship, sights dead on from factory, even though I got excited and didn't clean it before I shot it, it was holding 1" at 25 yds with Gamo pellets it came with after it laid down. The furnished pellets are very inconsistent in size, and a lot are deformed. Learning how to consistently hold a break barrel helps. My scope drifted a little until I tightened the rings. They were loose from the factory. I have learned that I do not need 9x at 30 yards to hit anything I intend to use this for, especially after shooting iron sights at 300+ and 6 power to 450. Paralax adj is nice for focus but virtually unnecessary for accuracy. If you learn a little known trick about how to use a scope. Crosshair movement occurs at ranges other than Paralax setting due to eye position movement. Try clamping your gun down, sight in on something at different ranges and magnifications and without touching the gun move your head around while looking thru the scope, see the crosshairs moving on the target at all but a certain range and power? Worse at close range? Adjustable Paralax removes that, however, If you develop the habit of NOT pushing up close to the scope until you get a full sight picture (I intentionally mount my scopes a little forwards for this reason) and instead stay back and keep a thin dark defocused ring around the outside of the image CENTERED in the field of view while sighting you will have your pupil AND the crosshairs centered at any shooting range, and if you always go for the same thickness of dark ring your pupil distance will be consistent. I have done this for 20 years at up to 400 yards good enough for hunting with some cheap scopes similar to this. Not that I prefer to do so, more scope is always better, but it is possible. This is a hunting rifle. it's perfectly adequate for that even with its open sights. if you want a scope that makes a .177 hole look like a basketball, made it for competition then go for it. I use the zero point hold aiming process and tape the short range zero that gives the optimum zero point hold, the dead on middle range, and the maximum zero point range to the stock. My eyes suck and I can hit pine cones every time with the factory open sights at 25 yards with this in slight wind with cheap Apolo pellets. I learned how to hit 300+yd 6" targets with K98 Mauser iron sights and 24" steel at 320yds with factory open sights on factory revolvers. I never close one eye. I had 850 yards at home and a loading bench, range finder, wind flags, and chronograph used for a dozen calibers. Most WW2 snipers were lucky to have a fixed 4x25mm scout scope. In other words, I can appreciate better scopes and own them, but out to 400 ish yards, I often used cheap Daisy airgun scopes from Walmart for HUNTING just to tick off my friends with their $2k scopes! Of course, their rigs were superior for bug butt accuracy at those ranges in low light, and I loved shooting them, but a farmer's budget didn't allow that for dinking groundhogs at 350 yards! There's a lock ring in front of the eyepiece, loosten the bell and back off the lock ring all the way and set up for your optimum shooting distance and magnification and turn the eyepiece until it's focused for you then lock it down. Moving this will not affect zero. I like super clear 25x60 30mm iluminated reticle Paralax range finder turret scopes, too, and have some. But if you learn your gun and range estimation, windage and hold-over by FEEL you will do just fine without it at any range any airgun can hit, and the ranges most firearm hunters use with that Gamo scope. I wouldn't have dreamed of having one that nice for the first 20 years I shot anything.
Im not sure why Gamo never considers putting a 1/2x20 threading on the end of their barrels....would be a massive selling point and move past their goofy proprietary 'moderator' systems they use. any gamo I have that doesnt have shrouding or some kind of moderator has a horrible loud snapping noise when firing. how cool would that be if you could reduce the length and weight of the gun if you want to shoot loud, and apply different cans to the break barrels to test out?
So it’s 100% metal and wood including the breech and sites? 5 year warranty. Does it have a parts manual available so I can just order the parts I need instead of paying high cost shipping? What happens to the warranty when I take it apart to properly lube it with high quality molybdenum sulfide lubricant to preserve the wear parts?

Is there any reason to get this non adjustable trigger 25 cal break barrel over the Hatsan fully adjustable trigger , adjustable cheek piece ,genuine Turkish walnut, pistol grip thumbhole stock and its a lot quieter with its QuietEnergy fully shrouded barrel and integrated sound moderator ,25 cal that is cheaper in price ? One other thing you can adjust the parallax on this and other scopes like this . All you have to do is turn the front element . Just unscrew the front cap and set it aside , then unscrew the front element you will see 2 small notches to help you unscrew it . unscrew it to about 1/2 a inch . Wipe off the greece on the threads at least 10 threads down then put some lock tite on the top 10 threads you wiped clean and put a little on the cap after you wipe the greece off those threads also . Now just hold the exposed threads that are sticking out 1/2 a inch in place so it doesn't turn and screw back on the cap about 3 full turns . Let that dry real good . Now when you screw the cap in and out and you will see it screws in and out the element . Screw it all the way in for longer parallax and screw the cap out for close up shots . You can screw it out and you will see that you can now use the higher power alike 9x at closer distances up to just 5 feet away . It turns your scope into a bug buster scope . If you want you can even take it a step further you can mark the top of the scope with a marker or tape and add a metal or plastic sleeve that fits tightly over the cap that you can now turn and the make the sleeve long enough to stick over the mark you have on the scopes body and you can now use it as a adjustable parallax range finder just like the scopes with the bell adjustments you see on front parallax scope . You just made a bell scope . Start with the cap all the way out and adjust it till you are in sharp focus at say 1 yards and make a mark on your scope body and do the same thing at any distance you want all the way out to infinity . This is super easy to do . I did this on my Optima 3x9 that came with a hatsan gun and now I have a rangefinding bug buster type scope .
The gamo is 299.00 and the hatsan model 65 is 199.00 Hatsan is made of good quality steel and with all the feathers I listed above makes it a lot better choice over the cheaper made gamo . If you want to pay 100.00 more for less of a gun then the gamo is the way to go .
Mine was a piece of junk that lost half its power by the 10th shot and even though I've kept it in a sealed case when not using it and have cleaned it every single time it's already developing rust. WTF! Did they use pot metal to build this thing?
Would have to see your gun to know about the power issue. First off. Make use of the warranty if you are having issues. As for the rust. When I lived in SC I had a terrible time with keeping my guns rust free. Make sure you coat them with something like MP5 oil from Air Venturi. Also, make sure that your rifle case is using closed cell foam and not open cell foam. I did not know there was a difference and several of my guns got really messed up even though they were in a case. I switched to closed cell foam and all is well. Also, I found using a silicone gun sock is better than a rifle case for humid conditions. On the power front. If you don’t have a chrony, get one. Else your are just guessing. More than likely the gun was dieseling when you first got it which is normal. Once the oils burn off, which takes about 10 to 20 shots, it will settle down and act normally. But again, if you are convinced something’s wrong with it, just get with Gamo and send it back for service. That is what the warranty is for. Cheers AGW
Yep they sell a 35 cal i have one and it shoots a whopping 236 fps! Yes i did say 236 fps! My Daisy Red Ryder is more powerful ! The 25 came in the box with bad seals and Gamo wants me to pay shipping both ways to send a bar out of the box gun back to them to be fixed ! Ok so it cost me one way $70.00 to ship it back then $70.00 to ship it back to me thats $140.00 in shipping on a gun i only paid $139.00 for do to think its woth sending back ? I don't
I made the mistake of buying one and it is a piece of junk that lost half its power by the 10th shot. I've also been completely anal about cleaning it and keeping it in a sealed case and somehow it is developing rust spots already. I swear they made that damn thing out of recycled pot metal.

I don't

Didn’t buy one because no 10x mag. Deal breaker
I made the mistake of buying one and it is a piece of junk that lost half its power by the 10th shot. I've also been completely anal about cleaning it and keeping it in a sealed case and somehow it is developing rust spots already. I swear they made that damn thing out of recycled pot metal.
I have owned over 100 airguns,I see know advantages in 25cal.
