Thank you everyone for your continued support and for watching!!
This was fascinating! I usually very briefly look at frames, but never closely enough. The Splash Mountain frame is worth so much 'cause they are retheming the ride.
I had no idea. I have frames. Def going on my list. They're EVERYWHERE.😮
Your research is so informative! Definitely a new BOLO group! Thx!!
I occasionally will buy a picture just for the frame; not so often any more since most are new plastic ones but once in a while, I find a good one. I've done really well with the old ''Hollywood Regency' mid-century gold colored frames, some with openwork or folding ones that often have matching mirrored vanity trays.
I just learned about old frames because of an antique painting I have that is built into one. I can’t reference off the top of my head, but there are sites and hood articles and blogs on them. Your info was enlightening. Appreciate it!
Great video. I gravitate toward antique frames so it was great seeing what kind of newer frames to look out for. As to old frames, I like wood in addition to the ornate brass ones you showed. I always grab oval wood frames, which are harder to find. If you can ID the wood it helps with the listing...oak..maple..walnut..etc. I like the deep frames, from the 1800s. Here's a search term: DEEP ANTIQUE VICTORIAN OVAL SHADOW BOX PICTURE FRAME. But they don't have to be oval. We run into these in Connecticut. Another antique style is ornate wood gesso frames, usually gilt. These can be more brittle and often have chips, but that's ok, better without.
I’m so surprised!!!
I won a Jay Strongwater frame at a Junior League function and sold it on eBay for hundreds of dollars. It was a beautiful frame. This video has great info! Thank you!
I’m just dying watching this about the Spiders! Same thing happened to me the other day and I didn’t want to look for anything for days and made my husband spray around the outside of the house! 😱
Hello! Just finished watching your picture frame video again- so much great info. I wanted to add an item I see
thanks Shannon; this was very interesting & I informative; frames are now on my radar. have a great day.
Love your research vids...thank you!
Fabulous research and information as always, Shannon. I've sold a few ornate frames here and there, but once again, you've ignited my need to dig into some research! Cost per frame in a thrift store here in Massachusetts, though...hard to find things for a dollar ! 😊 But this for sure will be on my list either way. Thank you!
Love your research videos, Shannon! I did well selling frames on Etsy, even the “ornate style” frames made of resin. I agree, not much competition and very cheap to find. I don’t think I’ve paid more than $1 for a frame.
Thanks for the info! I occasionally sell frames, but I'm now inspired to go seek more to sell.
Thank you so much! I'm going to start looking closer at picture frames! Great job!
Great info! I wonder if you have any tips on photographing frames with glass inserted. I seem to always be able to see myself in the photos! ☺
Hey Shannon, I'm rewatching this video, and I thought of a couple of research videos I would love to see. Neckties and scarves, I'm not sure if there are any scarves worth anything, but if there are, that would be great. My thriftstores always have a ton of scarves and neckties.
I have a ton of frames in my death pile. Most were free to me. One category you may look into is Waterford Crystal frames. They sell for good money. I bought one at a tag sale for $10, sold for $75. Had its original box and dust bag. Definitely keep an eye out for them.
I think Splash Mountain closed a few years ago, that may be why so many were in the top Disney frame solds.
