Millions of Foreigner fans that loved the first 4 albums (and still do) hated "I Want to Know...' It was a TOTAL Journey-crybaby song that would have been fine had it been done by Journey. I still would have hated it, but could have accepted it BEING a Journey song, because that's what they did. Today, this is the only Foreigner song Foreigner is known for because it's crybaby/gospel which is music across the board, and has been for years. Mick Jones was/is a real a-hole that was brutally vicious to Lou, the stress causing Lou terrible problems over the years.
I was actually ok with it because of Lou's great vocal performance on it, but agreed with Lou that the band was going in that direction too much. There was other great songs on that Agent Provocateur album but definitely also a lot of synth like never before and I don't think Lou was thrilled about the disappearing guitar prominence. Same thing happened with Rush around that same time and Alex Lifeson was not too happy about it.
That was the song the hit #1 and stayed for 10 weeks! Mick screwed Lou over because of it. Yeah Mick you had 95% and Lou contributed 5%. Selfish b-tard. Lou told you to take the whole 100%!
