Interesting video. I lived in your area (Holiday Park) for years because I worked at the Maple Leaf foods slaughter/packing plant (the old one called intercon and the newer one) and rents were lower. It's nice, but also can be very sketchy for crime in Saskatoon. My car was broken into there, and my house. Only time in my life. This was early 2000s. Unfortunately the areas south of 22nd Street West are higher crime and increase stabbings etc recently. Mostly at night. Most look pretty nice, and I loved Holiday park (Past 11th St. ) because it has nice parks and close to the river and Meewasin trail system, but it's a bit deceiving. Saskatonians call that whole area "Alphabet City" because of the avenue h, I, j, etc. Overall though, I love Saskatoon and the city police do a decent job of keeping crime from exploding. Saskatoon is a great city to live in. Population is booming. I wouldn't say we have any ghettos though. But drugs are a problem in that part of the city. I also lived in Meadow Green in my 18-20yrs in the apartments you showed. It has gone downhill a bit since the 90s but could be way worse. I wouldn't be scared to go there alone, except maybe late night or weekend nights.

I really don't know what the point of this video is? If there are violent people and drug dealers did you expect them to come out on their balconies and onto the parking lot to see you? Maybe try and sell you drugs or assault you? The slum landlords in this area main concern is to rent these apartments out for welfare rates and refuse to do the maintenance on the grounds and amenities. This video is basically attacking the poor that are attempting to do their best under the circumstances they find themselves in. As for the criminals living here it is up to residents to report criminal behavior they witness so it can be responded to by law enforcement. If you actually cared about the people loving in this area you might want to find a way to reach out to them and actually do something that will help them. Slum landlords will rent to anyone as long as the rent is paid regardless of how and where the money comes from.

This whole thing about ghetto ghetto is getting old. They are affordable apartments for low income families. The ethnicities don't matter. People get offended at these videos for good reason because poverty isn't a circus to attend and the folks aren't circus clowns to entertain UA-cam. They are trying to live and make good life with what they have.

Well said. I've lived in the "ghetto" before and it was quiet there. People were poor but they weren't dangerous. Most just preferred their privacy.
