How did you finance the business (land, buildings, equipment, etc? Like to do same on a much smaller scale, with model A s, to also mentor young to mechanical experience, and an appreciation for antique cars and to help keep them out of trouble, restoration of cars and lives!
Nice to see your channel growing. You deserve it. You seem like just a good honest man trying to make a living. We need more people like you out there.
Keep up the content Dex, always great to see quick tricks and tips from a mechanic that knows what hes working on. You could film yourself doing a full tune up on something and people will still watch and most likely pick up a new way to do something.
My first car I ever bought was a 1990 2 door Cherokee, I loved driving it... I had a small issue that I never fixed, and just stopped driving it in 2011, it was sitting ever since. I just recently moved across the country to TN, I knew I had to bring my jeep with me to actually bring it back to life some day. I was scrolling through shorts on UA-cam after I moved and came across your channel. I looked you up, and to my surprise you're about an hour 30 drive away. I've been meaning to give you a call, but I've been unsure on how to approach the conversation so I've just been watching your content in my spare time, and every time I do, it makes me want to get my jeep running again!
"now what do I do?" 😂 How i feel sometimes working on my vehicle's. It doesnt matter how long you've been working on stuff theres always question marks at some point. The honesty kills me!!😂
Love it man. My son and I want to restore XJ Cherokee’s. Probably less at a time lol, but it’s a shared passion. I’m in an auto tec school at 41 to learn to fix everything on em, my 4th act in life just because I realized I love fixing mine and my kid’s XJ’s.
Subbed awhile ago, but Haven't watched much. --HOWEVER, im glad i saw this "insight video" of what u do. Already know u enjoy jeeps as well. For the haters saying ur raising prices, I don't see it. Now if u weren't enjoying & building them for urself as well. I could understand alittle more. There is always someone else that could take ur spot. jeeps in south Florida always want way too much & they beat.
there is a transmission shop near me they buy all the cores that they can get. they save all the usable parts, if the clutches look good they save them. when you go there you have the option repaired, reconditioned , or remanufactured. repaired is usable parts used new bushings and used parts. reconditioned new bushings and clutches and seals. remanufactured all new wearable parts and includes updates if any.
Loving the vids man, you are living some of our dreams lol. I currently own a 99 GC 4.0 3" lift i daily, an 02 4.7 i just bought, and a 98 5.9 i just bought. Are you doing merch ? id rock a few "Dex Jeeps No Ducks Given" stickers for sure.
In the future would you make a video tear apart and rebuild on a 98 4.0? (Or how to take care of the motor head) Probably you already did but my bad. Thnx for the info sénior
Hello I just came across your videos looking for info. I want to put 4.0 of mine in a ranger. But I want to eliminate everything that I don't need. Mostly like sensors vacuum lines anyting that is unnecessary. Is there any pointers you can give
I wish I could pick you brain about a stalling problem with my 2001 TJ. Do you find wiring issues inside the harness from the PCM to the Crank and Cam sensors? I'm thinking that may be the case with mine...
Man I'd pay you for help. I love my xj got a 98 and I have done some much trying to figure out what's wrong. I got a rough idle sometimes. Starts right up cold. Cranks forever when it gets hot. It will start and run tho. I have replaced tps and iac map coolant temp air charge temp or whatever. New distributor Rotor coil, coil pick up sensor crt performance kit new wires spark plugs.....fuel pump. Fuel is soild at 49 psi. Also have a heat shield on the fuel rail and yes a brand new cps....

Hey man you dont have anyway to contact you. I thought i was a cherokee guru lol. I do have a question about my Cherokee crawler that no one has been able to answer or fix in 10 years almost. You might be someone that could give me an answer. Hasnt charged in 10 years since it froze in a mid hole. Had several peolle look at it and cant fix it. Been nothing but a Cherokee guy since my first one in 2008. Still have five of them. Even a rare 1989 4 door 4.0 5 speed 4x4. I looked for an email on your page but couldn't find a contact anywhere. Not sure where located im in Florence Alabama btw. Hope you see this man and great videos
At what point in your buying cars for a junkyard did you decide to switch to mainly Cherokee? Not that I’m complaining. I’ve loved the Cherokee ever since one of my good friends mom got a brand new one. We’re back in 91. I was in seventh grade and that’s when I knew that was the car for me.
I always wanted the reputation that I would have anything you need for one so I just bought as many as I run across... You need a green fender? got it!!
Well I got a bunch of dollars if ya have a contact phone # something to buy parts I need xj two door front doors with vent windows and a hood if ya got em❤
Working from home, having a great shop, setting your own schedule, loving Jeeps, owning many Jeeps...You are living the dream my friend!
He is living the life.
I appreciate it very much. I honestly love my job and what I do.

@@royvanzant5811if you fig it out let me know plz!😂
He said in another video that he used to have 2 employees, so I bet that he paid stuff off while running a full mechanics shop. Just my thoughts.
That’s a killer commute, a 10 foot walk from your kitchen to your shop.
you are very fortunate to be able to do what you do and make money at it. Y'all gotta get merch, tshirts & hats and stuff!
You make money and don’t have to really deal with the general public that’s the dream brotha!
Nice to see your channel growing. You deserve it. You seem like just a good honest man trying to make a living. We need more people like you out there.
I appreciate that! I hope so too!!

A guy noticed how I hooked the chains to lift a 4.0 engine up. I’ll get better but I fully agree with you. Thanks. I appreciate it.

Love your Content, Dex! What brand do you use or reccomend for aftermarket pistons?
So far seal power has been doing great for us.
You’re cool as hell Dex!!!

Due you're awesome. I live in the murfresborro are and ride coalmont and wheeling mainly. Would love to meet up. I have a 98 zj

An idea on how to stop your GoPro from falling over, what if you mounted it to an old dial indicator magnet.
Do u only do 4.0s? I don’t think I’ve seen u work on a v8 yet. Love ur content keep it up brother. 👍
Great video! Do you sell parts from your junkyard? Do you have them all cataloged?
It’s all run by me and my head. As simple operation as you could think of.
In the future would you make a video tear apart and rebuild on a 98 4.0? (Or how to take care of the motor head) Probably you already did but my bad. Thnx for the info sénior
I will as I come across the projects.
I have a 1998 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 6cl that won't start on park. Only neutral. ???why????
By the sound of the rotation while you was cranking, sounded like it was down a hole! Ya know where I learned that from...?
UA-cam 🤣!

What do you ask for a jeep. When you get them ready for the road
I think your jeep farm is totally Awesome!! I owned 2 yjs, an xj and currently a 2 door rubicon JL 6 speed . I am amazed at what goes on there.
Great job. What does it cost to swap a 4.0 WJ engine?
Stop worrying about the haters man !!!

It runs great not low on power got 32 in tires and I can spin them... just long cranks when hot.
Have you ever had a door that wouldn’t open from the inside or the outside on those Jeeps , curious to know how you might get it open ?
I want to learn how to fix cars, thinking about buying a jeep to fix up. What should I look out for, or steer clear of as a beginner?
Damn it I need those red zj doors in background lol.

Sell me one of your xjs lol.
If a female because it's gotta drip-dry!!!! Lmfao
You must have been pissed when they had that so cash for clunkers 15 years ago. The old jeeps people got rid of made me pisssed
