The fact that 2 non football people let alone celebrities can just buy a club, and fall in love with the game and be better owners then most top tier clubs in the sense of actually caring for the city and players and actually wanna grow it is insane to me still this is how you run a club
Couldn’t agree more as a Spurs fan right now - I’d give anything to have owners that give a shit
Most people with the kind of money to buy a top tier club are sociopaths. At best, they're going to be owners who throw a lot of money at the club because they want to be able to brag about having a winning club, but they don't actually care about the fans or the community.
🥹❤🏴
@@VloggingCastles Then how must City fans feel like with their oiler. On a cloud or guilty on antidepressants 😇 🤷🏿 😞
Imagine how great they’ll be once they’ve had a decade or so of experience running a team. Things will only get better for Wrexham for quite some time.
Rob and Ryan: two non-plonkers. Humble, even after that gargantuan victory of winning the league.
Non-League
Never understood why its called non-league when its litterally a league 😂
@@warlorddk2070 it's because the top 4 tiers of English football is known as the professional league and everything outside of that is semi pro. How ever in the National League the growing number of clubs that have been in the EFL prior to being in the daldrum of non league football is concerning. Oldham are a former Premier League club and are in the National League.
4 teams go up from league 2 whilst only 2 go down. This needs to be addressed cause as we have seen this season, Wrexham and notts county have been by far the best teams in that division yet notts county may possibly miss out. I sincerely hope that isn't the case because both clubs deserve to be in the EFL after the season they have both had
@@warlorddk2070 because it's below every pro division in the country. But yes, technically some 10-year olds playing school tournament is also a league.
@@ieuanwilding5993 Football isn't a democracy. There's only winners and losers. Tough luck for Notts County, Better Luck next year. I heard scoring more goals than the other team can help them make it to the big league.
It feels so surreal… sitting at home in Sweden, watching a Welsh news channel interviewing the owners of Wrexham in the US… I love it! Go Wrexham! ❤
Haha.....true, I'm a Kiwi watching content from New Zealand.......just shows the global appeal R & R have brought to this club and their fighting spirit
Same
Welcome to wrexham has been on the home page of Disney plus since it comes out. Seeing the amount of love it's got worldwide is incredible
Same from Western Australia!
Yes its putting North Wales on the map, Swansea and Cardiff improve South Wales and Wrexham did it to North Wales. I’m a Swansea supporter from Swansea but wish Wrexham do well. As a bonus it annoys English nationalists. Who don’t want Welsh teams in English system
These two guys are legends to us here in Wrexham. They put us on the world map. I can’t wait to see the open top bus parade tomorrow evening. Up the town🎉🎉🎉🏴🏴🏴
I live in New Zealand (I'm a Kiwi), would love to be in Wrexham for the celebration, what a party!
They'll be on the bus tonight
What? There's a parade? Looks like I'd best pop to Morrisons before all hell breaks loose for the next 48 hours, lol.
How does it feel having them talking about getting to the Premier league?
@@cyruslad5462 pretty crazy really i hope they have deep pockets 😂
I didn’t even know there was a town called Wrexham and had never watched a football game in my life (outside of American Football 🏈) but when the show came out and I saw the fact that Ryan and Rob were now the owners is what made me watch it. All I can say now is that I’m in love with the Welsh people and the people of Wrexham and truly invested in what happens with this football club. So proud as an American of our celebrity owners and what they were able to accomplish in a few short years. I was in tears for the Wrexham community when they won promotion.. that game and ending was amazing! GO WREXHAM!! 🎉
I was in tears as well.
What a story book ending to the season ❤
Up the town!
Although Ryan may point out that he’s Canadian, but that aside, what a splendid pair of chaps they are; & what a magnificent effort by the players and support support team. Absolutely wonderful, & I really hope that they can consolidate this season & progress onwards & upwards.
Well done Wrexham!👍👏👏
From a Swans fan. 😊
Don't believe the hype. There are plenty of other football teams across the UK just like Wrecsam but they won't ever get the attention. Too bad the people of Wrecsam and Cymru aren't speaking for the area, it just HAD to be these 2.
It's so lovely to read messages like this. We're a country that's always been overshadowed by our larger neighbour (internationally and within the UK) I'm a Cardiff fan but was rooting for Wrexham against Boreham Wood a few weeks ago. All the best Angelica, iechyd da iawn
Rob said you cannot get any higher. Rob this upward journey with my home town team has only just begun. Hold on tight Rob this will be a massive rollercoaster ride for the next 5 years, guaranteed.
My wife and I are coming over to Wrexham from Canada at the end of this Sept 2023 and we're really hoping to get 2 tickets to see a home game and have a pint (or 2) in The Turf Pub !!!
GO WREXHAM !!!
Awesome 👍
Make sure and check out snowdonia too . North wales is beautiful.
The tickets are like gold dust now to get hold of them. But hope you can as will be a great trip to go
@@robbiemacdonald777 yeah Wrexham isn't particularly touristy but most of North Wales is, visit Bala, Conwy, Caernarfon, Anglesey, Pwllheli, Barmouth, Snowdon, Llangollen, Betws y Coed....
I live in Conwy and highly recommend you to visit 😊
Can you imagine these two in their 60's sitting down talking how it took 15 plus years but they made it to the Premiership.
So... Which is it, premier league (1st league) or championship (2nd league)... 😅
@@raistormrs Champions league?
World cup😅
@@raistormrs It was the "Premiership" for most of the 90s and 00s, so not that uncommon to still hear it referred to as such.
@@cr41gm when you are stuck in the 90s i guess that allright then. still, it was only called that for about eight years and it's called Premier League for 22 years now, so... enough time to notice. :P
From a Wrexham fan born and bred. Thank you so much Rob & Ryan you have done so much for the town , people and club. Lets do it again next season, you can do it.
Contrast these two brilliant owners with what the Glazer family have done to Manchester United. Just worlds apart in their ethics.
Maxine is a proper headmistress. LOL. She's got them boys ready to do thier numbers, say their letters and even clean the blackboard after class. She's a legend. She also needs more acting roles because she's absolutely wonderful.
I just saw an interview with Her for another channel. She said she loves her job as a Journalist in Washington DC. Although, she does occasionally do some work with Ryan and Rob. Like her part in the McElhenny song, Ryan did for Rob's birthday.
What are you taking about?
She's in no way like that.
She's polite, courteous, professional and warm.
I think it is a case of your fetish showing.
You’re creepy man
@@Gambit771 simp
idk if she still is, but she was a BBC reporter. she knows how to conduct an interview well, as anybody should who worked at the BBC (though of course, there's always surprises).
Hearing Rob talk about the womens team made me cry! Such an incredible team! Rosie is an absolute superstar and I CANNOT WAIT to see a game!
So many people said it was a gimmick from the beginning, that they'd get sick of it after a while and leave, no matter the results. I sincerely think they will stay as long as they are welcomed, and i can really see them be the owners for years and years to come, imagine the scenes when wrexham manage to get promoted to premier league one day and these two are still in command. I hope i live to see it
Right there with ya!! 🤞
I genuinely do think these guys will get them to the premier league…
I know it may sound like a reach, but the things they are doing in the community, to the ground and with the squad and manager they are just doing everything right…
Well we've been as high as the championship in the late 70's early 80's and that's only one promotion from the premiership. It's possibly the infrastructure that takes longer to build the kop won't be open until season after next if we go up next season, immediately they are gonna have to look at further ground capacity and so playing catch up again. A training ground is still in the pipeline and will need to have room for future proofing. I think we could well get out of League 2 within 2 seasons. League one top end I'd say is around our level, getting promoted to the championship would mean then playing against some very big teams. If we got there and could hold our own, that would be amazing ... Just one promotion then from the holy grail. We dare to dream
Yeah I don't know how they convinced everyone it actually wasn't a farce with the documentary cameras everywhere from day 1 and Reynolds constantly sounding like he's in character as Deadpool 😂.
But yeah to the previous person's point, I don't think them going all the way is crazy. I think this team would be immediately competitive with the top of League Two as it sits right now. Once they get to League One, I think there'd have to be more significant changes and by the Championship I think they'd need additional investment. But it's absolutely possible. Weren't Leicester in League One or something like 10-15 years ago?
In 2018, Coventry City and Luton Town were both in League 2. On Saturday, one of them will be promoted to the Premier League. It's very achievable for Wrexham as long as they have good leadership 😉
Their belief in phil has done a lot to help them. Phil being so good at what he does keeps the engine going
Maxine is just lovely and she asks the questions that we need to know the answers to. I'm glad Rob and Ryan are at the helm! Peace!
I so love Maxine Hughes. I only know her as Rob and Ryan's Welsh teacher, and from the start when she first met them on camera, she's seemed both skeptical, and down for their style of humour. This interview seemed genuinely lovely, and it was heart-warming when Maxine genuinely expressed how the show had made her life better.
the new Wrexham is a cracking story in the making, im looking forward to seeing it all unfold
I’m flabbergasted. From Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales! Literally blown away. Thank you both - Wales is an amazing country as your completely aware. You deserve us and we deserve you. 🏴 🇺🇸 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️🔴

This is how owners should be...a breath of fresh air for football. So good to have these two genuine people in the sport
As an Arsenal fan, I can go on record and SAFELY say that Wrexham are EASILY my 2nd team! Congratulations 🎉 to you all for your fantastic and well deserved promotion back to the English Football League in 2022/23 and all the very best and good luck to you all in 2023/24 when you play in League Two! Rob and Ryan have shown all of the current foreign owners in this country on how it should be done, what they’ve done is just fantastic! 🏴
Thanks mate even tho I use go spurs home away wrexham is my home town an been going since 1977
I said it before and I‘ll say it again. It‘s not just Wrexham, it‘s not just Wales. The show managed to perfectly capture the passion and love people have for this sport and that‘s why it resonates so well globally. Combined with these two beautiful people, this show and this club and this season especially have done so incredibly much for football in general and for fans all around the world. It’s really almost impossible to not be a fan of Wrexham AFC these days. I just hope they can keep this up next season and the one after and maybe, just maybe actually make it to the premier league. Though that, I think, will be a lot harder than the two of them are imagining now. Up the town!
These guys are the role model for football club ownership. Well done guys keep it going!
Both really good lads ... Wrexham are lucky to have them. Great decision by the Supporters Trust to let them come in. I think the interest in the games they play this summer in the States is going to surprise a few people.
There's a video you can find pretty easily here on UA-cam of a couple of professional MLS commentators asking if Wrexham is already a bigger brand in the U.S. than the entire MLS. Whether they are or not is sort of beside the point; just that two professionals think the question is interesting enough to discuss says it all.
@@andrewgr144 Outside of Man united, man city and a few others, they are a bigger brand in the US than the rest of the teams in the Premier league!
Supporters Trust should get a parade too lol.
Already have my tickets beside their bench when they come to Philly this next week
I have been starving for more Wrexham AFC content and this hit the spot 👏
What is really great to "hear" is their eloquence and intelligence. What they say is important but how they say it shows thought. It is great to see that intelligence is not a bad idea and it can be entertaining too. They make fun of themselves in a very human way, but they are so careful and reverential of Wrexham.
Well done to Ryan & Rob for their commitment to the club, very happy for Wrexham FC and also my hometown
No better place to looking for players, than Wrexham AFC's Youth Team, they have some fine young players.
Brilliant move to install new LED floodlights that will now allow for internationals to be broadcast from the Wrexham ground, can't wait to see the new Kop Stand...
Some very wise words from Rob & Ryan, great to see the Women team get well deserved praise.
I’m an American who spent last semester in the UK, and I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a match at the Racecourse
Well done everyone in Wrexham, from a Cardiff city fan ❤.
Thank you Rob, Ryan and Maxine!
As an American and a fan of true football, I am so happy for the community and team of Wrexham. Congratulations on an amazing season and a well deserved promotion! I'm so happy that Ryan and Rob have done it right and for the right reasons. It warms my heart to see the community thrive and see the team fully committed to the city and each other. Go Wrexham!!!
Well... true football as you call it was invented almost 100 years after real football was invented in the UK.
I’m confused - American football invented in 1869, “Real” football 1872. Where has this 100 years come from?
🤔
@@nickgeeson2288 Not true... first original (and real) official football competition was in 1863 (so it comes to logic it was invented way before)
Also, if you had kept reading Wikipedia about American football, it says right there at the beginning that "American football evolved in the United States, originating from the sports of soccer and rugby"
So American football is actually a copy/ merge of two previous "true" sports.
Btw, I'm just using the terms "true", "real" or "false" "fake " to align my answer to the original commentary's bias... 😉
2 actors who didnt know anything about football are now the best owners any team could hope for.
Even as an avid football supporter here in The States, I never thought I would purchase a one day pass for The National League. Totally worth it. Up The Town!
Same here
@micks122100 definitely worth the 10 quid.
Best decision I’ve made in 2023 thus far
The quality of the streaming and commentary is actually very good.
I fell out of love with football many years ago, it became a soulless, corporate driven tank. These two are exactly what every club needs.
Top owners, that has made this possible. Magnificient season. Be interesting to see how we go in div 2 and if phil's formation pays dividends in that league or if he will have to alter it, pressure is a good thing though.
I'm from Chester & all I can say is well done Wrexham. It's good to see our neighbours getting some investment & interest for a change. I work in construction so often work with Wrexham lads on site round here, you're all buzzing & I'm glad for ya.
As a Bradford fan - with the squad you have you will definitely be challenging for promotion next season- I don't think the standard is that much different nowadays (can even throw League 1 into that)
Will be interesting to see who you guys manage to recruit in.
I enjoy the fact that Welcome to Wrexham focuses on the community, as well as the athletes, staff & the 2 famous chairmen. I'll keep watching if the show continues. 🎉 Congrats to all!
These 2 are changing lives and perceptions of smaller clubs. This is an amazing journey, and I for one wish them and Wrexham luck in rising through the ranks of our very special and amazing game. Dream big guys, stage one completed
Wrexham AFC is a beautiful story of community and human virtue. Any community would be fortunate to have such leadership. Wrecsam am Byth!
It’s so weird but like Ryan I am obsessed with the last 3 games and watching Wrecsam and any related content ⚽️👍
Yeah, it’s the penalty save that does it for me! Anytime you’re having a bad day… watch the save again on UA-cam. Feeling depressed… watch the save. Lost your job… watch the save. Going through a divorce… watch the save!😂
Wrexham is fielding a League 2 team already which is great. Maybe even a league 1. Build around Mullen all the way to the top. Upgrading each side of the pitch for each promotion.
I’m so glad they don’t ask to edit out where they aren’t perfect at welsh yet , at the end. Shows you how real they are. It’s awesome that they are so transparent and open and honest about their experience, financially and emotionally.
Unbelievable owners. What a shame there are not more of them out there.
Just 2 astonishigly talented but fully grounded men doing gorgeous things with their well earned wealth... what is there not to love? Beautiful things happen to, and for, beautiful people! Respect!
Lots and lots of ‘something in my eye’ moments for me, during that interview!
When I was a kid, my first season was the old Third Division season and the promotion to the Second Division.
That was it for me, forty five years later it’s the same for any new fans, and kids too, enjoying the recent promotion season.
I’ve got no greed in me, in home life nor for Wxm, I’m just grateful we are back in League 2. That’s already enough!
Rob and Ryan have already done so much for the community, and the club, and fans, it’s already pure gold, job done.
I’m happy if we are just trundling along in L2, so long as we never go down to NL again. Seriously.
And yet, listening to the guys again here, they’re so focused, enthusiastic, and dreaming of more promotions in the next decade or two. If so, then it’s just beyond the wildest dreams of old fans like me. Bring it on, for sure. We hope for more success, but expect nothing. I’m just so grateful for what Rob and Ryan have done for the club, fans, town, and beyond. ❤❤❤
Being born and bred in Wrexham I am so proud of these two men, who have been the best thing that has happened to Wrexham, our football team and everyone involved in the community. We love them and they are one of us now. Thank you for having faith in us we love you xX❤🏴⚽️🏴❤️

Ultimate respect to these two legends… restores your faith that not all ‘celebrities’ are self absorbed cunts totally disconnected from reality!! I think it’s safe to say that Wrexham have now become everyone’s second team!!
Rob & Ryan are really down to earth considering they are both so famous, and not to mention rich... Ryan even more so! It's nice to know that money doesn't warp all rich people in the world...
Go Wrexham, here for the journey all the way to the premier league. And mark my words, by the time the team actually does make it to the top tier of English Football, they will be probably the most watched and talked about team in the whole world! 💪

Lovely interview/discussion....thanks guys! Thanks Maxine!
These guys and Humphrey Ker have to be applauded.
The town must be just gob smacked that this has happened.
Just brilliant stuff. 👏
I suppose the next step, if they don't already have them in place, is to establish men's and women's football academies to develop their talented youth.
That area will now be funded from the league, whereas in the national League the club's have to fund them themselves and young players can be poached for no fee. It's why this area of the club fell behind under fan ownership, as much was going into the first team to try and be competitive.
@@paulsmith7051 The League doesn't actually fund the Academies of the various clubs in the pyramid. The Football League does provide money to the clubs but it is for their share of broadcast rights and merchandising as well as the payment given by the Premier League for a share of its broadcast deal. Clubs are responsible for funding their own Academies but you are right on the second point. A league club can poach any talented youngster from a non-league club for zero fee. For a fan owned club with limited resources it made absolutely zero sense to maintain their Academy infrastructure because any player with talent would get stolen for free.
I’m from Southern California but 1000% invested in Wrexam!

Some PL clubs don't have the Global reach Wrexham have. All just by having Ryan Reynolds as an owner. Absolute genius move from a business perspective 👏
Next year Wrexham won't be the wealthiest club in the championship. But in terms of sponsorship. They have an edge over other clubs.
@@zeroconnection would be hard for them to be the wealthiest championship club when they're playing in league 2 I suppose
@@arransadventures7319 Ryan Reynolds and rob mcElhenney have to complete against billionaires. QPR Tony Fernandes is worth 10 billion. The two saving graces that Wrexham have. @@zeroconnection aye once they eventually reach the championship that Will come into play will be another season or two before he faces QPR anyway. They should since they got promoted too
It will most definitely in season 2 and rightly so. Look out for Mia Roberts, her dad Neil Roberts played for Wrexham. Local family all Wrexham fans too.
