Every time I watch one of these videos and see how the bolts, nuts and screws are lovingly restored . . . all I can think of is 'I would so just go buy new ones' . . . well done !
They are not restored, grinding the rust off is temporary if you don’t replace them they will re rust from the moisture in the air

Ahhh yes,....the BEST kind of bike pedal,.....never fails to grind right into the shin nicely, if you happen to miss your step.
Once again, perfect restoration. Keep these old bikes on the road.

Mr. Rescue, I like how you can fix this trike back to how it was but you need to fix your ratchet also. Your missing a screw that holds it together. 🤔👍
What factors determine if which technique you use? Why sandblasting on some, chemicals on others, and rotary steel brush on others?

Das Dreirad sieht wirklich gut aus. Die Restauration ist Dir echt gelungen. Eines würde ich aber nie tun: Wasser gibt man NIE zum Ätznatron, sondern IMMER umgekehrt. Das kann sonst richtig schief gehen.

what is the stuff you paint on clear before scraping off the paint?
Good job but I would have replace the back wheels. I know you can't get exact same one but I'm sure you can find something similar and if needed to, you can modify the wheels or the bike frame so it will attach and work.

Putting metal cage pedals on that just made it TWICE as dangerous to ride!!! (Maybe that will keep people from riding it??)
That is the O.G. drift trike!! There was NO freewheel in the front wheel! You had to PEDAL!!!!! And if you got going TO FAST, you were pedaling fast until you simply stuck your feet & legs up above the spinning pedals just HOPE-ING you weren't going to get your calves (back of your leg above your ankle) smashed into by the pedals. You could put your feet on the ground to use as brakes but then you had to stay away from getting your shins hit by the spinning front wheel pedals. Awesome fun that was! They just don't make them like that any more! I mean, They are better in ALL respects now.

Nicely restored. What did you use as the foaming cleaner for the metal part(s)? It was a crystal or powder but foamed up and the metal part came out like new... What was it?

Don't repaint black plastic. Used plastic restorer to get back a more authentic look and preserved functionality
