I KNOW he's known for being in Jekyll and Hyde asshole but if you asked the average person what production he's known for they'd say Phantom. And anyway the initial reply indicated this song was from Jekyll and Hyde. Are you tat stupid you can't figure that out?
Have literally just discovered this magical & majestic voice at 3am. Thank you insomnia! Trawling through Pinafore via Pirates & arrived here. What a pure tone & that lower register is just sublime. Fabulous
Best version of this song in the world! Love Michael Crawford but nobody and I mean nobody sings and performs Music of the Night like Anthony Warlow!!!! He may be Aussie but a true Broadway Legend forever!!!!!!!!!! BRAVO Anthony👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
as far as I absolutely love Anthony Warlow and think he's one of the best vocalist that ever existed, my favorite version of Music of the Night definitely is Ramin Karrimloo at the Royal Albert Hall, that performance is from another world
He performs magic with his voice. Seen him perform live several times. My wife fell in love with him at the first Phantom performance in Melbourne and I wasn't jealous!
This man, is just incredible. This ranks alongside his performances as Hyde for me. He combines total control with intense emotion, just amazing. Also, his falsetto, when he chooses to use it. Those top notes are into the "struggle range" for most basses. He sings them perfectly. As I said, total control. I've never seen or heard a better male singer.
Just a small correction, Warlow is a baritone (a lyric baritone if you want to be particularly specific). Still an incredible performance and he most definitely has amazing range. He's actually one of several magnificent Australian baritones who do musical theatre (take a listen to Philip Quast, he's perhaps the best Javert I've heard).
I think JOJ, Karimloo and Crawford are amazing phantoms (if not the best), but this is by far the most touching version of this song. Warlow's voice is at the same time tender, powerful, sensible, strong, everything that the phantom should be, and that's why I love it. I find the other versions too weak or too dramatic, Warlow's rendition is just perfect
Still Spine tinkling in 2022. A true Phantom. A true angel of music of the night. Love his delicate and deliberate shivering-like breathing before and during the last sentence, to me these they actually created a trembling feel of the complicated excitement of the phantom in that moment.
I must say that this version by Anthony Warlow is a home run. I have spent several nights comparing the Music of the Night performances from all the available lead singers and I had Crawford as a "Softer rendition that was very sweet but I wanted more "BITE" in the words and but when I heard and saw the 25th anniversary lineup of tenors,Anthony Warlow stunned me with that dynamite voice and deep interpretation.W O W !!!!!!
After hearing this, Anthony Warlow is definitely my favorite phantom. Hopefully someday I get to see him play phantom in person. He has the voice, and the acting skills to play the role
Michael Crawford was amazing, that can't really be denied... but Anthony Warlow...sends shivers down my spine every time I hear him...he's amazing. So raw and passionate. I saw him live in Melbourne as the Phantom... The perfect Phantom in my opinion. But hey, that's just me
The Michael Crawford version is fantastic but this is nothing short of brilliant. Warlow is the best Phantom I've ever seen. His passion is unparalleled.
I was lucky to see him play the phantom in Australia many years ago and I feel very lucky to have been able to see this in person . This was maybe 10 years ago or even more
To really appreciate the quality of Anthony Warlow's voice you need to hear him live singing with others on stage. I attended a performance of Dr Zhivago some years ago and was amazed at how his voice stands out above all others. He is truly in a class above most.
This guy is out of control good... Watched the 25th anny show from Royal Albert. Watched the guests segment and said who the F is this guy? What a voice.. !!!
I watched one of those comparison videos a few years ago and had the exact same reaction to a gentleman named Jonathan Roxmouth. The kicker is he was only like 24 at the time of the recording. Look him up and you won't regret it. Probably the best kept secret in musical theater and the best Point Of No Return I've ever heard
He is a true Aussie legend and so proud to see he was chosen amongst the best phantoms for that performance .... I never got to see him as the phantom live but have seen him in other shows and no one tops his daddy warbucks!
Warlow and Crawford are fantastic. And when I first saw the film version with Gerard Butler I wasn't sure what to expect but he blew me away too. Definitely my favorite musical film of recent times.
Every breath and every word are dramatically intense and vocally perfect! A stunning voice, with a strong tecnique in a great actor … I thing Warlow is the greatest of all.
I first saw Rob Guest in the Phantom of the Opera and had to wait years before I could see it with Anthony Warlow. Phantom is my absolute favourite musical (and I have seen a lot over the years) and he was mesmerising in the role. I hope he does another musical in the future as his voice needs to be heard. Thank you for the download. I was also at the Main Event concert which was extraordinary to say the least. 🥰🥰
Yep. Ben Lewis (the current Phantom for Australia's "Love Never Dies") really echoes Warlow's Phantom which is absolutely fitting for the new show! The baritone works so well.
Watching Anthony for his final Performance as the Phantom in Melbourne a couple of years ago was the most inspiring performance i had ever seen. i wish i was born when Michael Crawford took the stage as the Phantom though, that would have been just as great.
I LISTENED TO MICHAEL CRAWFORD AND NOW TO ANTHONY WARLOW SING THIS SONG. MICHAEL CHOSE THE DELICATE, SLOW TEMPO, CAREFULLY PACED DELIVERY. ANTHONY CHOSE THE TENDERLY AGGRESSIVE, ENERGIZED, SOMETIMES EMOTIVELY EXPLOSIVE DELIVERY. WHICH DO I LIKE BEST? I CANNOT SAY. I LOVE THEM BOTH. TWO ROLE MODEL SINGERS -- ANTHONY AND MICHAEL. @@hargow4u He sets the scene for the audience by putting himself in character. That's what opera singers do. He is, in my opinion, Australia's best male tennor and best Phantom. Thank God he didn't loose it when he suffered non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I would have cried for ever if that had happened. Namaste'
I really enjoy his voice, his operatic tenor voice just flows freely and capture each n.ote beautifully, I would've loved to of seen him perform it live

Anthony Warlow is definetely not only a good voice. I think his version actually surpasses anyone else I've heard and even the original meaning of the song, not because he has the most gorgeous voice. There's a lot of emotion dynamically expressed in this rendition, and the most touching one is the pain and struggle which could almost relate to his own cancer experience, and that makes the rendtion so great. Looking forward to his comeback as Phantom.
WOW!!!!!!! Michael Crawford has always been my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE singer of this song, but this guy is really good. Somebody smack me! I never thought I'd ever hear myself saying that!
For sure. I was captivated by Colm's uniqueness and just the way his voice sounds in general. But I totally understand the people who like Warlow or Crawford more, but Colm will just always hold a special place in my heart :) But, I absolutely LOVE Warlow's rendition!! He is fantastic!

Well this is wonderful brilliant really, But I still need to see and hear Michael do this part. I was privlaged to see this live and well, Michael Crawford is the only Phantom for both my wife and myself. Such a wonderful voice and passion Anthony puts to the music of the night. I would buy two tickets to see him for sure!!!!!! thanks for the post.

Anthony Warlow is an angel I swear
He brings tears to my eyes when I hear him sing.
the moment he opened his mouth i was hypnotised...if he was truly the phantom christine had no chance...
