Warlow is my kind of man, he is such a gentleman, so elegant and humble. "There must be someone in America who can record this role." No sir, there isn't there is only one Anthony Warlow.
Well, there have been so many movies, cartoons, and TV shows with Jekyll and Hyde, but it would be fantastic if the film adaptation was based off the musical.
unbelievable. no words. And the last note was held for about 20 seconds. Anyone saying Robert C is the greatest surely hasn't heard Warlow. What a shame he never did the show. It was destiny that he never came to Broadway with a big role. He's too good for Broadway, if you ask me.
Love Anthony Warlow's voice. When he got sick, I didn't want to see Phantom without him. Waited year &:years u till he thankfully recovered. Went to see him in Phantom. Ended up sitting next to another lady who had done the same thing. We both turned & said "YES!! When his voice came through in the prologue. Worth the wait!!❤❤❤
Anthony Warlow-.. I’ve always loved musicals sense I was 10 years old- And then I first saw the Musical of Jekyll and Hyde I knew this was my favorite musical and then I heard the recorded sound tracks i fell I love with the musical even more- So THIS MAN I AMAZING HE MAKES THE CHARACTER COME ALIVE! YES!
Absolute perfection. He truly is the best Jekyll/Hyde. Robert Cuccioli is right up there too, because he was one of the first with Anthony, but Anthony's delivery is more powerful.
You sure he’d really have the low end for that? He’s possibly the greatest lyric baritone that’s ever lived, but he’s not a bass. He definitely has the charm and gravitas for that role though.
I guess no one ever saw the original with Robert Cuccioli & Linda Eder they were magic together. Linda's voice is one of the best voices I have ever heard for a female. (Barbara Streisand for me)
BBBYpsi Cuccioli and Eder had undeniable chemistry and gave absolutely electrifying performances. Linda Eder, hands down has one of the best female voices I've ever heard in my life, but Robert's voice and vocal technique is poor and not healthy. He pushed and manipulated his instrument too much which resulted to vocal injury. Warlow does the score much for justice than Cuccioli and sings with much more freedom.
I think he looks absolutely fantastic without hair!! He's the leading man of any musical you can think of with a strong charismatic and beautiful singer!! As he aged his voice became even more engaging and wonderful to the audience.
Warlow battled non Hodgkins Lymphoma. The treatments caused him to lose his gorgeous voice and doctors told him that essentially his singing career was over. He focused on his health, and once he was cancer free, he went to a vocal coach for retraining. His incredible performance of “I Need to Know” was his first time getting back into recording.
I consider Anthony Warlow to be the Daniel Day Lewis of MT actors. The way how he is able to manipulate his voice so that each character sounds different…listening to Confrontation on the ‘94 Jekyll and Hyde album, it’s hard to tell that it’s the same dude playing both parts.
This song always sounds to me like it could be also used for a musical of Frankenstein. I can imagine Dr. Frankenstein singing it before bringing his creation to life.
Ah, no, the lyrics aren't wrong - he just sang the condensed version of the song which is used for TV shows like this, and performances where there's a time limit for each song. There's a video of Clay Aiken singing this version, too. :)
@Crocoshark Yeah, it's meant to be 'My Final Test, Destiny beckoned, I'll never reckon second best' You saw him second guess himself....... but ...he nailed the hell out of it towards the end.
What is wrong with the lyrics? He sang on the 1994 concept recording which is different from either the 1990 concept or the 1997 broadway version, but it's not "wrong".
Warlow is my kind of man, he is such a gentleman, so elegant and humble. "There must be someone in America who can record this role." No sir, there isn't there is only one Anthony Warlow.
Amen
Yes
Hes like Henry Jekyll But in real life
We need a film adaptation of Jekyll and Hyde!
Well, there have been so many movies, cartoons, and TV shows with Jekyll and Hyde, but it would be fantastic if the film adaptation was based off the musical.
@@justinlamphere2950 same I wish there was a movie based on the musical but they would need a good Jekyll/Hyde
Here here
There actually is with David Hasslehoff
@@DelicateSilence That's broadway, they're talking about an actual musical movie.
Anthony Warlow is the best Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and you can never change my mind
Anthony Warlow is the best.
Anthony Warlow is so good for the role of Jekyll and Hyde. Love him!
He should’ve gotten the chance to play that role on stage!
unbelievable. no words. And the last note was held for about 20 seconds. Anyone saying Robert C is the greatest surely hasn't heard Warlow. What a shame he never did the show. It was destiny that he never came to Broadway with a big role. He's too good for Broadway, if you ask me.
***** Well, I haven't heard about him doing the show. He did a presentation for the 25th ann production in New York a few months ago though.
Lucky for us he Is going to star in it for the 25th anniversary. There also Gonna do a cd too
+demise light (the mediamanga master) Are you sure? There's no news about it yet.
I'd say Rob C is the greatest to play the role onstage. But most likely Anthony Warlow will take that title this year with the 25th anniversary
Jack Moody much agreed

my favourite jekyll/hyde !!!

My greatest moment - meeting him the other day - what a lovely, lovely man...
I was smiling all the way through this video (then feels pang of homesickness for Australia).
Wow that's incredible. 😮❤ 👏❤
Absolute perfection. He truly is the best Jekyll/Hyde. Robert Cuccioli is right up there too, because he was one of the first with Anthony, but Anthony's delivery is more powerful.
2:55 his Hannibal impersonation was terrifyingly good O.O
Omg the part that he sings its so wonderful!!!!
If I could sing like this I would never shut up
This mans really held that last note for 18 seconds straight.... HOW??
He would be an AMAZING Hades in Hadestown. And to think he was what 33 34 here? Wow.
You sure he’d really have the low end for that? He’s possibly the greatest lyric baritone that’s ever lived, but he’s not a bass. He definitely has the charm and gravitas for that role though.
He is the greatest Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde EVER! My opinion.
Agreed
He looks so well .. I am sure glad he overcome ...
You can tell he made a conscious decision to sing in the more "pop" style here, and it works flawlessly. There's nothing he can't do.

Thank you so much for this vid! Love Anthony Warlow, yet I can't remember seeing this before, so thank you again! :-)
Such a lovely performer and equally lovely human being. ❤️
I think he looks absolutely fantastic without hair!! He's the leading man of any musical you can think of with a strong charismatic and beautiful singer!! As he aged his voice became even more engaging and wonderful to the audience.
i love him
Anthony is the only valid Jekyll
I got to see him perform this musical nearly 5 years ago with the MSO but grew up with his album. He's the only Jekyll and Hyde for me
"the american composers found their perfect dr Jekyll" damn right they DID
God I wish he had performed this role...
Thank you warlow . for me is the best singer and realy gentelman and ofcourse humble person

He is just bloody brilliant!

Incredible

Outstanding!
Красавчик🤩

love the chairs
And he is the greatest vocal Jekyll/Hyde...he never did the role onstage
OMG 😱

Why didn't he do the stage performance in the end?
@ 10:21...this is the moment, my final test is the correct lyric...he sings damn all the odds twice
Eh *shrugs* Repeated line or not, he's still spectacular. :)
:(
And we got The Hoff instead...
How saaaaaaaad.
wrong lyrics but amazing voice
8:08 This is the Moment
A little word flub by Mr. Warlow but a great performance
Is it odd that I am getting Cillian Murphy vibes from Warlow here?
Where was the flub and what was the flub?
