If your ever rolling through Texas it'd be cool to catch you on I-281 it's been years since I've heard that OGT slang coming over the chatter I had to watch the cb die out while I grew up. I miss it. I miss hitting up 19 or 17 and seeing what was up. Idk how to hell I got the nickname but I got it in high school. (Rambo) ended up being my handle ..... I even had to watch my local truck stop die you could walk in there and it just smelled like the 70s. Cheap cigarettes Stale coffee And greasy ass food. Used to go into the truck stop every morning and either get a couple breakfast tacos or shit on a shingle and bullshit with the guys from out of state. That were looking for a local to find out where the skunks and chicken coops were. Sad to be honest. I watched everything about my town die around me Population of like 1200 everybody knew everybody Everyone would be in the deli truckstop or diner bullshiting and having lunch at noon Somebody would ask how your doin Or what you've been up to etc Everyone was at the game on Friday night I'm glad I got to experience most of what my dad and grandad did growing up as it had stayed pretty much the same here for 60 years. Didn't have electricity till 1955 And from then on it was the same. Up until about 2008-2010...... then it all slowly faded away The last time I heard the old cb talk used was about 2011........
'Bears' are 'double bubbles' down under on our CB radios. If only the two guys in 'Duel' had CB's they could have resolved their differences without the need for that whole duel business.
My hole family drives truck including me its a good living but its changing so much that its not like the movies make it out to be you can still make good money but the freedom my father and guys his age had is all but gone its something you have to have in your blood or really love. If you do drive all the best to you I hope the road treats you good I got off the road 3 weeks ago after 17 years and got a snow plow job with the government I'm in Canada and today I worker 13 hours and made $340 better than any day on the road well I guess in still on the road but making it safe for everyone else.
Hey Trucker IceBox, I was wondering if you could give me some information on what you think about an mobile app that replaces the CB Radio and what the positives and negatives are regarding conversations over CB that you would want to see and not see in the app. What is it that truckers really need and desire while on long hauls. Thanks brother and drive safe
Is That Burt Reynolds actual speaking voice? He sounds like bloody Cary Grant! I Never heard him sound like that in any of his movies. Is that put on, or does he play the down-to-earth handsome dummy just That well?

The bandit owned the kenworth which he got snowman to drive. Definitely wasn't no freightliner
No one talked like that on the cb until after this movie came out & the song convoy.
We got a great big convoy
That's where I learned my cb lingo was smokey and the bandit. I'm 15 and would live to get my cdl's and drive a rig.
