Entering a plague ship without full hazmat gear(implied by the ability to smell the stench. "These humans, always pushing for change...." saying "always" about a species he just met and knew nothing about a few weeks ago is amateurish writing. It took them weeks to discover the plague was bio-engineered? C'mon man! Zorek is an idiot. I made it to 9:49, the story line stupidly painful and predictable. I'll guess without going further into this mess, humans prevail, Zorek grudgingly respects Jake and changes the entire outlook for his species, entering into a new era......yawn. Can't ...go...any ...further.
Yeah, not well written at all. Are they fighting a Crudan fleet or one ship? It keeps changing by the paragraph. LOL!
But, the plague... Oh, they figure out a cure.
I love how it turns into a star trek fan fic halfway through.
How do they know anything about humans if they never met
It's just a story , why try and pick it apart . I enjoy every one I hear.
The human captain goes over to the Elysian flagship “before” his medical personnel, apparently without taking any precautions against the plague, without any kind of threat analysis, and returns, putting his entire crew at risk.
The Odyssey takes position to shield the “entire” Elysian fleet? Really?
In that position, the Osyssey is described as facing the hostile Crudan ship head-on. Then, it turns to face the Crudan ship “head-on”?
A ship captain is authorized to commit all of humanity to a formal alliance, without checking in?
The human and Elysian ships had long range communications, yet Jake apparently never reported back to anyone, or received any guidance.
At the end of the story, the human “ships” - plural - set sail along with the Elysian fleet. Where did the additional human ships come from? And what about Odyssey’s original mission?
The concept makes for a touching story, but logical inconsistencies kill it.

Should I say eighty-eight or 88 to fish for compliments? 🤣🥰 Good story, but humans are predators. Odds are we would have negotiated a technological exchange that was contingent on our success.
