This could very easily become a film. Flesh out the leading man Tex a little as an intro for character development, maybe a compilation of the warrior enslavement. Then this story as told today, as the climax to the first tale of a trilogy. In the sequel, tell the tale of planning and infiltration of the enslavers compound. The freeing of the warrior slaves. Leave it on a cliffhanger due to some unforeseen obstacle. The third installment could write itself. Reunification of the former slave warriors with the free remnants of their people, and a joint effort with humans to destroy the slavers.
A modern space trilogy, don’t sell the idea to Disney, they will just put a chick in it and make her gay.
