My Dad had a small jewellers shop in Geelong, Victoria and I remember him selling these, too. I had forgotten them completely but I recognised it instantly.
The 1950's leather purse looks like it's from the 70's not 50"s.
My mom had one like it - late 50s, given to her by my uncle who bought it in Mexico.
