You're very much not alone in this man. Our paths barely crossed back in 2015 era, but I can definitely see we've had a very similar trajectory. I think part of this is growing up, like you said, content pandering when you're 19/20 is the norm, cause we were dumb kids, but then you grow up and want to do your own thing. I just hope anyone else who's experiencing anything like this understands that their value does not come from views, money, or subscribers, because if you go deep enough, you can find reasons why anyone is successful. Family, good timing, or just dumb luck, and I know that for myself I really struggled for the past 4 years to understand that. "You are not your job, you're not how much money you have in the bank. You are not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet." (for all the problems of interpretation with Fight Club, this quote is still pretty good). Thanks for making this Luke

The beauty of making videos is that unlike money the skills you learn NEVER leave you. The knowledge you gain NEVER leaves you. You are an awesome story-teller with a very likeable camera presence, you understand the algorithm, you got this! Thing is, sometimes you need to find a compromise in order to survive. Financial literacy and right planning allows you to feel more free which results in a MUCH BETTER content. Don't go "all in" with "I don't care about money" mentality because you will achieve the opposite results not being able to support yourself. A brand deal, a video that follows UA-cam's interest is never a bad idea as long as you don't make people worse with it. You're awesome, good luck!
Great advice bro. There always up and downs in everyone's life yet you need to be strong enough to face it and there you go, your old time success is back. Stay put and stay blessed.
I miss seeing this kind of authenticity on UA-cam. This video was like a breath of fresh air on this polluted platform. Thank you for your honesty! Keep it up!

Dude, awesome and honest story you have here. I'm a 31 year old female so I was a little too old to have known who you were before the UA-cam algorithm suggested you to me today. You have a very wholesome and honest vibe and I'm here to support you and your journey into happiness and art! New sub man. Congrats on getting to start over.
I'm a 39 year old mom and mental health therapist, who only just found you. It was a travel video where you were trying to get to India, that drew me in. Very few people rarely live their authentic lives, while being their authentic selves. Embrace the journey.
i actually starting following you when you got into the type of content that you've been creating rn, and i'm sure i'm not the only person enjoying it! surely many people do and you'll gain more and more views with time i guess, so keep up the good work and it will work out! your videos are really great and teach us lots, so thanks for that
I just discovered you like 20 minutes ago, but I appreciate the honesty in this video! your travel content is really good, your views seem to somewhat growing back. i wonder if part of it is this new audience you're building!
This guys is more authentic than 90% of content creators, have faith in your talent and your following you will draw in an audience that aligns with your values and the growth will happen.
Luke, I am grateful too. As a graduate student who stumbled upon your videos, you are inspiring in a lot of ways. Keep up your realness. You're awesome.
Hang in there. You're definitely going to bounce back, your storytelling is amazing! Been watching and rewatching your videos. I've not seen anyone connect with people, in countries you visit, the way you do.
This made me tear up, luke. I GET it, I'm in a similar boat (except I never made 6 figures lol) and it's soso hard but we won't settle. Keep doing what you love and what fulfils you, it's inspiring lots of people including me
I really admire your honesty. Many people have been through what you've gone through, but few people admit it. But hey, look on the brightside... you have a pretty big channel and you're a great storyteller. Take advantage of that, make something fun, do something that matters
I guess the fact that I randomly got recommended the Italy Video without knowing you before and now watched most of your videos within a day shows that UA-cam success will for sure come back gradually. And I think you've shown that this time you'll be mature enough to act responsibly.
I love honest vlogging. You share a similar story to myself where i was making more money than i knew what to do with & making content i didn't enjoy to bring in the views then found a love for travel which has broke my bank account multiple times. I have resonated and enjoyed the content you've made this past 2 years mor than all your old thirst trap stuff. I remember one time seeing you in a fast food drive thru with a really nice car and thinking Damn. he's doing really well. It's funny how short lived that was before life humbled you again. Love you brother. If you ever want to explore europe i'm always down.
I've seen your content on and off. Your recognition of *the cringe*, a desire to move on, and your introspection is lining things up for this to be a fresh start for you. Not in a bad way, not in a good way, in whatever way you decide to make it. I just witnessed someone I don't know or have personal connection to sell me a story that I want to be invested it. I don't think it's shameful to blame it on desperation, I think you found a great proof of concept that you can apply to your journey through the world. We can vicariously see the world in any Google search and on any platform, but I want to be invested in Luke's perspective and journey as he moves through the world. Thanks for being open and honest to your audience.
wishing you the best luke - really excited to see what kind of content you're gonna put out. you still have a lot of people supporting you even if it does feel very silent at times.
Never have seen your channel before but honestly everything you said felt genuine you even called yourself out went out of my way to sign back into UA-cam and subscribed
This is the first video I’ve seen. I just have to say it’s so admirable that you paused your videos for as long as possible during the pandemic. So many influencers have blown through the entire pandemic partying and traveling, without any regard for public safety.
'' have to cook my own food '' welcome to reality bud. But everything else is understandable man stay strong... make some cool shirts or something and i bet those will sell a shit ton
You did at the age of 12 what most people can never get the hang of - create a successful career from scratch. You have it in you. It will happen again, and this time it isn't even from scratch! We're there for you, Luke! You got this💕 Now go make some good travel content🕺🏻
I remember running into you at Playlist Live never got a chance to say what's up. But I am in the same boat film making is a major driving force for how I want to film my videos but it's not like before and I can't do that cringe teenage stuff I was doing, I just can't anymore.
Your so insanely talented man! with this mindset youll get even more than before, just keep creating, Also I am in India if you wanna make epic Content, I am down !👊
@I'm confused when Israel and Palestine had a war in 2021 during that people were just saying pray for Palestine and this man decided to say ur prayers aren't going to do a thing and then mocked Pakistan about how they couldn't clean streets and are hoping to free Palestine by praying and from that his channel took a huge downfall
I have to admit I found you during your "cutie-boy teenage thirst trap phase" and only watched you because I thought you were cute. I think I was 14 at the time and just beginning to discover my sexuality, but stayed over the years because you seem so genuine and humble. I still watch every video you post btw, but no longer because of a shallow reason. You are so much more than a cute face, Luke. Please keep going. Success will come sooner or later. :D
This is the first video I think I've ever seen from you and I have so much respect for the vulnerability and the choices you've made despite everything to do what actually fulfils you. Good luck Luke!
I didn't know your older videos but I have seen your newer ones. You are on your path to purpose. From what you shared and what I have seen, You have grown and have so much to show for it. Well done Luke, you are truly Inspiring. You have a new subscriber here!
luke, as a long time viewer (yes, even since the thirst trap days) i can tell you that the films you’ve been putting out recently feel so much more genuine and authentic to you. way more happy to say i’m a luke korns fan now :) but in all seriousness, the stories you tell are incredible, and i can’t wait to see where you go from here! stay safe & healthy! see you next video
Thanks for sharing, it's cool to see another creators financial side. Go back to uploading consistently and I believe you'll make it back to where you were (financially)💙💸
I just found you, something about you hit a nostalgia feeling. I wasn’t too sure, maybe I was a past viewer. Most importantly, I fell in love with your content, your connection with the people you meet and your storytelling. I believe your channel will grow again, keep being authentic you! - sending love from Singapore ❤
I love the way you brought your stories: the visuals, the storytelling, the pace ! And really, if any company comes to you to sponsor a video in exchange for product placement, it’s OKAY! Do not hesitate to accept I mean go get you $$$ if it means that you can travel longer or experience more !
This was so interesting to watch, it’s something that tends to happen to a lot of influencers especially ones who got popular at a young age, but no one ever talks about it. I’m glad you’re making the content you enjoy now, I’ll definitely be watching, I love travel content. Safe travels ❤️
Luke, I don't know if you'll ever see this message but, if you do, know that you may have left UA-cam for a time but your base of viewers never left. Most are still here waiting for you to make the content we love to watch. Just be you and upload every so often your viewership will increase.
Your doing what most people will never get to do because there to busy working. Don’t give up your dream you’re doing a good job 👍🏻 Safe travels Luke✌🏻
My Man, I as a viewer will always be coming on this channel to watch your videos. Your content is gold. The way you travel and bond with people is just crazy. I also wanted to travel across the world but I am not financially independent yet. Once I complete my graduation I will travel across the world and perhaps I can even meet you on a tour or something. I am a huge fan of yours. Don't give up. All these hardships are meant for something, it won't go waste.

i actually starting following you when you got into the type of content that you've been creating rn, and i'm sure i'm not the only person enjoying it! surely many people do and you'll gain more and more views with time i guess, so keep up the good work and it will work out! your videos are really great and teach us lots, so thanks for that
I just discovered you like 20 minutes ago, but I appreciate the honesty in this video! your travel content is really good, your views seem to somewhat growing back. i wonder if part of it is this new audience you're building!
This guys is more authentic than 90% of content creators, have faith in your talent and your following you will draw in an audience that aligns with your values and the growth will happen.
Love you thru all your phases brother keep your head up! 🙏🏼❤️
Loving this new chapter! Can’t wait for the next ones!
Keep doing what you love and what fulfils you, it's inspiring lots of people including me
seeing someone own up to their past, albeit a cringey past, is still pretty inspiring.
I really admire your honesty. Many people have been through what you've gone through, but few people admit it. But hey, look on the brightside... you have a pretty big channel and you're a great storyteller. Take advantage of that, make something fun, do something that matters
Your voice and way of speaking is so charismatic ❤
I guess the fact that I randomly got recommended the Italy Video without knowing you before and now watched most of your videos within a day shows that UA-cam success will for sure come back gradually. And I think you've shown that this time you'll be mature enough to act responsibly.
same here!
Also before your channel before was what I disliked about UA-cam looking forward
This is the first video I’ve seen. I just have to say it’s so admirable that you paused your videos for as long as possible during the pandemic. So many influencers have blown through the entire pandemic partying and traveling, without any regard for public safety.
It's such a breath of fresh air to see a youtuber being so open and vulnerable. You're the best, Luke!!
'' have to cook my own food '' welcome to reality bud. But everything else is understandable man stay strong... make some cool shirts or something and i bet those will sell a shit ton
this is honestly insane. you'll get there man.
You did at the age of 12 what most people can never get the hang of - create a successful career from scratch. You have it in you. It will happen again, and this time it isn't even from scratch!
We're there for you, Luke! You got this💕
Now go make some good travel content🕺🏻
You just got yourself a new audience with this honesty. Subscribed.
I remember running into you at Playlist Live never got a chance to say what's up. But I am in the same boat film making is a major driving force for how I want to film my videos but it's not like before and I can't do that cringe teenage stuff I was doing, I just can't anymore.
Me flipa tu honestidad y la manera en la que cuentas historias!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Your so insanely talented man! with this mindset youll get even more than before, just keep creating, Also I am in India if you wanna make epic Content, I am down !👊
How come you have 500 k subs but 10 k avg viewership
@@ibrahimawan459 most of his subs are from Pakistan and he made fun of Islam since most of his were Muslims they stopped watching
Bro good to see you in his channel. Come back to Pakistan man, your favorite Chai is waiting for you.
One of the most honest videos I’ve seen in a looooooong time. Keep pursuing the idea of what makes you happy Luke ❤
"I now have to cook" lolllll I'm sorry this video was going pretty well and that snapped me out of it pretty quickly
We'll be here for you Luke! Keep your head high!
I didn't know your older videos but I have seen your newer ones. You are on your path to purpose. From what you shared and what I have seen, You have grown and have so much to show for it. Well done Luke, you are truly Inspiring. You have a new subscriber here!
This is very lovely - I only started viewing your video in the last few months. Felt this was incredibly personal and appreciate the storytelling
pov im one of the teenage girls who fell to your cringy teenage boy phase 😌 don’t regret it, thank you for being so transparent, miss you buddy (:
luke, as a long time viewer (yes, even since the thirst trap days) i can tell you that the films you’ve been putting out recently feel so much more genuine and authentic to you. way more happy to say i’m a luke korns fan now :)
but in all seriousness, the stories you tell are incredible, and i can’t wait to see where you go from here! stay safe & healthy! see you next video
I don't know who you are and I've never watched your videos before but you're a really good storyteller. Subscribed.
Don’t give up your dream you’re doing a good job 👍🏻
Safe travels Luke✌🏻
FANTASTIC! I love budget travel - you meet the real people and see everything from the ground up. ❤ Serah in Jamaica
YES Bro, I agree
i started watching you when you were in your 2013 “thirst trap” phase. it’s honestly kinda nice when youtubers grow up with me, your content matured as i did. i love what your videos have turned into and i’m glad you enjoy making them :)
I'm gonna be honest, I even forgot that I've subscribed to you or when I'm subscribed to you or why I did, but this video shows just exactly why I did in the first place. It's the way you tell your stories; and even though it's been a long time since I've watched your videos, I'm still enthusiastic to watch this until the end. Things aren't going to be easy but I hope everything's going to be well for you Luke. Much love
Proud of you, Luke! I've been subscribed since you had commented on my channel all the way back in 2011 and I still enjoy your videos! Happy to see you grow so much, and the new direction you're taking definitely will get its audience as well!
You got this, and we'll always be here for you 🔥💛
Bro, you have the x-factor. Keep making the content you want to make. The shorter (under 10 min) pieces you did in Greenland and Nepal were amazing. Subscribed 🫡
6:20 welcome to life for normal people dude
The dude literally sleeps on couches to make content for us, hes hardworking and following his passion and if you got a problem with that you should stop watching his videos and stop leaving these rude comments @foos
All I can say is: keep up the good work and count on me for watching your content from beginning to end. I like your approach and your narration style big time. That's why I'm still subscribed to your channel.
Luke! This video is so good. It’s open, honest, and super vulnerable. Props to you, and I hope everything works out for you! Your content has always been great, but especially since you switched out of the thirst trap phase. Keep killin’ it!!
this came up in my feed I think because I was looking at retirement planning as I am getting up there! My channel is completely unrelated to your but I am so impressed with you and what you have learned from this experience. I will likely continue to watch your videos in support of you just being open. I have a small channel and I get it, it is hard but you did it before and you will do it again!!
Monetary wealth is not everything and your spiritual wealth and peace of mind along with doing what you like to do is everything. Having good family and friends are everything along with good health. Your videos are very inspiring and educational. Thanks for being honest and inspirational
