- This music video includes my first project using Garageband. I used some of the MacBook app features for adding tracks and effects.
The original song recording (and music video) popped into my head a few months ago, and I started learning the tune. The music video from 1989 is tops, and inspiring.

Sorry that I missed this when it came out, but I am glad I finally found it. I wasn't that into FYC back in the day, but I learned to appreciate them in later life. The toy piano was a great touch!
@@VoxRox Thanks Chris! I was in the same boat. FYC came in hot for a couple years, then they were gone. I paid a little attention. But “Good Thing” always grabbed me. And the music video with the Vespas was so cool to me. When I studied the song a few months ago, I was drawn in by the piano bridge. The keyboardist put together a kickbutt solo and the live versions are awesome. Of course, I cannot emulate that, but I came up with the 8 bars to fill in the slot. 😅
Man alive, that took me back to the 90s when I noticed that a rendition can be as good as the original! I love what your voicing does to this song, and thanks for including the part about how you made this, really worthwhile 😄👍
P.S. The ending, yeah!!☺️
Thanks Micah. Your feedback is awesome. For some reason, the FYC video hooked me last year (as it did some years ago) and the song kept pulling me in. So I learned it and readdressed it 😅
@@MicahScottPnD I'm glad you got a kick out of that. I need to write down how I came to that ending, so I don't forget. 😵 I mean, for a few days, I kept wondering, "How does this thing end?" And I knew that there were several ways to go.
@@rydenbrook Well, you found it, that's for sure 😉 Songs that fade out, I'm often wondering "What did they do this live?" But now, they can just call you 😂☺️ So enjoyable, the sounds and the sights!
@@MicahScottPnDHaha yeah! I’ll take the call. Could be fun. 😊 I agree with you on the fade-out outros. Some work OK but it seems that many are simply faded into the part where the things start to fall apart on the take.
Nice video!!!
@@hajsu142 I’m glad you liked that. 😊 It was a cool project.
Love the video too! Very well done! A unique take on one of m y favorite songs!
Thank you Jackie! This “thing” was so cool to work on. I heard it and saw it in my head and tried to make it a thing. 😊
@@rydenbrook Really enjoyed it! ⭐
Great job, Scott. Nice cover. Where did you get the footage? PCH, right?
@@ellenwinters3143I used iStock at Getty Images. Lots of cool images out there. I think most of what I used was recorded in Eastern Europe and Asia.
Getty seems to have everything. The rev is cool. I miss bikes.
