Is she a milkmaid or something? And what the firetruck is icemilk? Ice cream? Ah well, she doesn't look as innocent as she sounds...

The first nine seconds of this song consist of my all time favorite song intro. They're absolutely glorious.

My headcanon: Mugetsu created the Dream World (the same Dream World we know in Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom), and has the ability to manipulate dreams (different from Doremy Sweet, who can eat and create dreams, Mugetsu is able to change them, but she usually has good intentions). Her sister, Gengetsu, has the ability to manipulate nightmares. I predict that if the Getsu sisters were to return, they would be redesigned quite a bit, and I'd imagine Gengetsu would look a bit scarier to emphasize the nightmare motif.
But it is specifically stated that the world the player is in is "Gengetsu's World". So Gengetsu probably created it, not Mugetsu. Mugetsu is just a lowly servant!

Everyone be talking about the intro, But can we talk about how good this theme is in general? It's so slow but so menacing, And the chords at 1:00 with the drums~ And how the theme picks up the pace slower, and slower, Getting louder and louder and more intense~
I agree. The whole theme is beautiful, not just the intro.
Such a simple theme but evolves so many times with the percussion it’s just insane. I’m sure the gameplay really completed this song

Mugetsu (夢月) is the first Extra Stage boss of Lotus Land Story and possibly the creator of a mysterious dream world. She appears to be dressed as a maid of some sort, but according to the music comments of her theme "Illusion of a Maid ~ Icemilk Magic" in Lotus Land Story, she is probably not a maid. Here's some food for thought. Gengetsu's Rape Time may be the most painful attack in all of Touhou, but in all Touhou lore we've seen before, the younger sister is stronger, as shown by Minoriko, Koishi, Flandre, etc.
Gengetsu is the older sister.
Think of what Mugetsu could have done to you if she wanted.

Except those younger siblings live in Gensokyo, while Mugetsu and Gengetsu don't, so Gengetsu is probably the stronger one.
Also I think the older sibling of the Watatsuki sisters is the stronger one so I don't think every younger sibling in Touhou is automatically the stronger one.

Tbh, this is honestly one of my favorite songs in all of Touhou. I'd go as far as to say it IS my favorite song, or at least in my top 3 favorites. It's just.. so good.

I really wish she had been the stronger out of the sisters, This theme sounds a lot more threatening and ruthless then Gengetsu's...And It's catchy.

Actually, ALL of Mugetsu's and Gengetsu's attacks has their own version of rape time (there's even a youtube video showing all of them if you are curious), just that Gengetsu's last one is the most (in)famous for being the most brutal one.

Two different Dream Worlds. Maybe they're connected, who knows. This Dream World is in Gensokyo, while Doremy's Dream World is between the Moon and Earth.

Often thought of as the inspiration for Sakuya, Mugetsu is pretty much the same minus the fact she has a different face and she throws Entire Swords. ENTIRE SWORDS.

@@GarryDumblowski Raep time refers to it happening on Gengetsu's final attack. Yes all of Gengetsu/Mugestsu's attacks can go crazy but that final attack is by far the worst one to have it happen with.

Honestly it sucks how most of the PC-98 characters were never seen or heard of again, except for Mima I guess. (She was on the cover of one of the Akyuu's Untouched Scores I think.)
Hell, none of them even appeared in any spin off games. I feel like some kinda spin off game would be great to bring the PC-98 characters back.

@Raikaria1 Well, yeah, that's kind of a given. However, I only used the Seihou reference due to the fact that you fight Marisa first and then Reimu right after, just as you do in LLS's Extra Stage with Mugetsu and Gengetsu, with both bosses having their own music.

I'm not sure about the term "*Icemilk* Magic". I think it represents ice(represents coldness) and milk(represents innocence) which can be an Illusion(or fake/unreal in the eyes of the human)

We actually dont know the power of the character of PC98 to know if they stronger but people we do know that are strong are Yuuka but isnt the strongest and Alice with the grimoire but we dont know how powerful her grimoire is .
