    TRN Mt4 it's a monster for this price. I have a Truthear Zero x Crinacle and it's very similar, with the advantage of been more sensitive. Plays very well even directly in the cellphone.
    Zero needs much more power.
    Its a MIRACLE for bassheads like me!

      Mine isn't that basshead, just nice balance. But it is a great set for the price and deserved more reviews than it received.

    rocking them for more than a week now, I couldnt agree more 😊. My 2cents: the driver quality is much butter than other 20buck sets (transience, distortion, impact) that kind of stuff. Its beryllium coated and it can be heard. Btw my unit is not that bassy also. Maybe only very first units were bassy and than they changed it out, right away? 🤔To be honest I was quite surprised they called this as a basshead set, but the amount is just right for me (ideal). TRN T Tips really work at giving smoother sound (good match for the set).

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Рік тому +3

      OK, I don't get the basshead either. Mine measures as it sounds, more balanced than basshead. Having heard a few TRN sets, their DD drivers are typically better than average regardless of the coating. They also know how to set the level where the drivers sound good and not over-drive them to the point it sounds boomy and loose. Someone at TRN is quite good at picking DD drivers and been that way for many years.

    4:30 Regarding the Unit Variation section of the video, be sure to check to see if all the graphs you’re looking at are normalized the same way. HBB likes to use 1000 Hz where as default seems to be 60dB.

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Рік тому +3

      HBB was just the most convenient one to use, there are at least two others out there showing the issue too. MT4 and TA3 seem to have more variation and channel imbalance than past sets.

      Yeah, its a nice entry level set and if you drop it or lose it, not out too much money. Sets like MT4 are great for figuring out what you might want next, it is a starting point to give you a frame of reference on IEMs.

    hello my friend nice review..
    airy discuss i wanna try some entry level v shape tunning (with right mid & sub bass)
    ...but IMO the soundstage imaging ; in front "vocal" not really on there..
    (MT4) is this better overall in price range?
    mt1 max, wan er, qkz x hbb (not khan) skip that and get this? or any better? tysm

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Рік тому

      MT4 comes in a few unintentional flavors due to their inconsistent quality control. You might get a super bassy one or closer to mine. That will affect soundstage. Your source (phone or dongle or dac/amp) will also affect it. Wan'er is middle of the road set, QKZ x HBB if your library resembles HBB.

    hi, i have the wanners and i often eq it kind of v shape (with lower highs and higher bass) cause i find them too harsh, so do u think the mt4 could be a good replacement? i was thinking on buying the cadenza but they cost 2 times more and i already have a qdc bluetooth adapter so the cadenza will make me spend more money. or what other iem would you recommend me?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  6 місяців тому

      If you want to try less harsh, look at Truthear Hola. To be honest, I would just keep the EQ'd Wan'er until you really narrow down what you want next. EQ is cheaper than buying sets and Wan'er's driver is one of the best at the price.

  • @kzr83
    @kzr83 Рік тому

    I'm not primarily a V-shape guy, but it can be fun for certain genres. So, at this price, and with these looks, I'm tempted to try it. I also wonder if a two driver IEM would normally respond better to a bit of EQ vs a single driver IEM... 🤔 Any thoughts, Paul?
    Many thanks.

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Рік тому +1

      I didn't try EQ but the unit variation tells me the driver can handle some boost. Historically, TRN has decent 10mm and they know how to balance fun and quality, this is no exception. I did hit the xbass button on the Go Bar though, and I would say it was too much bass, thrashed the mids but on a fun set, who cares. EQ with finer control, I'd be fine.

    How does this compare to the Wan'er and Hola?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Рік тому +1

      Wan'er is closer to Aria, a bit more relaxed or less energetic. Hola is dark-ish, the most relaxed treble. MT4 is a step towards more of a V shape with those slight bumps to bass and 2-5k area. Just a more energetic flavor.

    Super budget basshead IEM is KBEAR Rosefinch. Bought it yesterday for like $15. Its soundstage width is narrow but in terms of tight bass, dynamics, oomph in notes, timbre, musicality, it is awesome. No harsh, thin, shrill or peaky treble but it doesn't sound dark either. Its better than my ZSN Pro, CCA CRA, TRN STM, Blon BL03 etc in terms of music enjoyment
    Running it using Ibasso DC03 Pro

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Рік тому

      MT4 isn't near Rosefinch, at least my set. I just noticed Akros measured four MT4 and there is a good amount of variation. I am sure someone will end up with a basshead MT4, but Rosefinch is a safer bet until TRN sorts out their issues.

    In terms of audio quality, how does the MT4 stack up against the 7hz Salnotes Zero and CCA CRA?

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Рік тому +1

      I left the entry level in the title to dissuade people who already have quite a few sets. It sounds fine, but not going to beat a set like the two you mentioned if you love those sets. The tuning is also not as bright as those two. But as far as your first or second causal, energetic style set, it is a great value.

      CRA is just an overhyped set that has no mid bass, only sub bass and has thin, lean, sharp mids and highs. A QKZ ZAX2 that costs far lesser than CRA sounds much better and also has bigger soundstage than CRA. Many times people blindly fall for some hyped sets but they don't realize that there might be many other sets out there that cost way less and perform better

      I think MT4 is a basshead set, but the one I received was not quite there. I think KBEAR Rosefinch is up there, QKZ x HBB, and now 7hz Legato. KBEAR has a couple big bass sets last year, Rosefinch is the most affordable.

    • @davi.poiani
      @davi.poiani Рік тому +1

      I like different kinds of signatures for different genres. But my personal taste leans towards bass-head and darker signatures. I own both the KBear Rosefinch and the QKZ x HBB. Love them both! To my ears, the Rosefinch sounds even more bassier. You got some little bloating into the mids but even still it is a great and fun set. QKZ x HBB is also another great set. And both are very affordable.

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Рік тому

      I'll take the MT4 stage and fun factor, but the CXS driver is quite good on details. I like to look at the CXS shell, but KZ ZVX is a better tuning of the CXS driver. If you are looking at best details and imaging, also look at the Tinhifi C2. Budget sets rarely get all 3 right, most force detail at the expense of stage and imaging.
