- Somewhat longer video on the Digital Outputs on the Eversolo DMP-A6 and which to use for your DAC or AVR, and showcasing some of the menu options.
On the DMP-A6 the max output bitrates for the different ports are:
USB: Up to ... PCM 768 kHz/32 bit ; DSD 512 & MQA [highest bit-rate]
COAX: Up to ... PCM 192 kHz/24 bit ; DSD 64 DOP & MQA
OPTICAL: Up to ... PCM 192 kHz/24 bit ; DSD 64 DOP & MQA
HDMI: Up to ... PCM 192 kHz or DSD 64 Native
Therefore I’d suggest to use USB given the highest bitrates / widest range of protocol supported (D2P/DOP/DSD Native). As noted by someone else, the USB also uses the clock on the DAC - which tends to be better than the one on the Eversolo.

Hi, nice video! I have noise when I connect using USB to my Advance Paris A10, to eliminate the noise I need to unplug all the other analog RCA connection from the A10... What can I do to kill the noise?
Hi. I noticed on mine the digital coax has a higher output than the USB. When I switch between USB and Coax the volume is louder on Coax. Is this normal? Thanks!
@@bridgey3706 it’s possible, not entirely sure. Do make sure the digital output volume is set higher - perhaps that has an impact on the USB output. Also, it depends which device the COAX connects to and the volume setting on that vs the USB device.
Another reason to use usb out to your dac is that usb uses the clock on the dac. While spidf uses the clock on the eversolo. Typically, a good dac is going to have a better clock thus getting better sound

So, if I connect A6 to a DAC by coax, do I will use the clock of the DAC the same?
Is this true because if it is, I find that to be devastating because I desperately want this device. I currently am using the line out on my SP3000 DAP to a Cayin iHA-8 amp with my Elysian Annihilator 2023 and it is godly. But I want a permanent desktop solution that wont wear down the battery in my SP3000
Thanks for your videos. Can you connect an optical digital in, (a TV for example) and still use the USB out to an integrated amplifier? If I select the Optical In, I'm only given the options to use analog out. Essentially, I'm trying to bypass the Eversolo DAC and test it against use the DAC in my Hegel H190 integrated amp. I don’t believe so. The DMP only seems to allow digital outputs when using “internal player”. It feels like it should be possible to do this - maybe it’s a circuitry limitation. File an enhancement request with them ?

@thorbampougias311 glad you like the videos. Sound is very subjective and ultimately is personal. The DMP-A6 ME is VERY good in my mind, add the potential of an equalizer and you can tweak it. That said, when I compared pure DMP-A6 ME output vs my DAC, I personally felt my DAC was a bit more open/richer and mid-range improved even more. But it's VERY Subtle, right now I loaned my DAC to a friend - and I'm enjoying the DMP-A6 as is.
I Have a Denon 3700H. I believe DAC on eversolo A6 is better. In that case, i just use RCA from A6 to denon right? does this confirm AVR is just passing the analog to speakers without interference.?

Yes if you use RCA or XLR it just passes the sound signal directly to your Denon. Unless the Denon adds anything - equalizer, warmth etc. you are using the DAC on Eversolo directly.
What if my eversolo doesn’t have the hdmi out…is there a way to connect to an AVR ?
Would I use the spidif ?
It should have HDMI out. But in that case indeed use spdif or optical. Unless it can take a USB signal. Depends on AVR.
The usb cable that goes to the dac is usb c to USB c or USB A to USB A?
Actually it’s a USB type A - standard USB (what plugs into Eversolo) to a USB type B - looks like printer plug (DAC input).
Why did you external dac for eversolo? Smsl also have the same ess 9038 like eversolo
@rajesht9694 since I already had the DAC, I did a comparison and to me it sounded richer, fuller, and soundstage more open going through it. So connected it, I'm continuing to play with it. is there that big of a difference with the AK4191 dac? Is it worth the 500us?
@TheBeardedLibertarian ultimately sound is objective. Assuming you are referring to the Topping E70 DAC, that's a very good DAC imho. And rated quite high at: www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/topping-e70-stereo-dac-review.39188/ (122.8) vs the Eversolo built-in dac at (117). Maybe borrow one and see if you find it to be richer in sound.
Actually AK4499EX (digital processing) + AK4191EQ (Sigma-Alfa modulator - analog processing). A8 works with most advanced chip (AK4499EX+AK4191EQ are like 1 chip that work as a unity) to date in the world. It definitely worth 500 us more.

@@josephkelly478 make sure your cable is correct. That bottom USB port connects directly to the square USB on my DAC. You do need to set “output” to DAC in settings. And set input on your DAC to USB. What is your DAC ?

@@malbers My DAC is the SMSL D6s and it's in USB but I still do not get sound. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. 🤦🏾♂️
@@malbers the USB DAC output on my eversolo is not active. When I select it , it says no USB device detected. I wish I could send photos .
@@josephkelly478 interesting. That to me means the DAC isn’t being recognized. So I think Bad cable. Or the DAC isn’t set to USB. Check that.

Thanks for asking. Only focused on the digital outputs vs analog in this video. But good point. Will think about adding in an upcoming video. I use XLR for my Focal headphones and RCA to amp.
Use Async USB, by far the best interface. As for using an external DAC, it's wa waste of money: The DMP-A6 internal DAC is already better than your ears! That being said, the SMSL SU-9 is an excellent DAC.
@@guyboisvert66 agreed re USB Interface. I already had the DAC and though VERY hard to tell. Added a bit more warmth and openness. It’s on loan to a friend rtn though and very happy w the DMP-A6 as it is.

For me the best sound comes from rca you dont need any dac ,and dont use eversolo as dac
The hdmi sound also its great
@@thorbampougias311 it certainly also depends on your amp. However if you only use rca out from Eversolo - the Eversolo is actually acting as the DAC.

We use the eversolo with Rca for best sound with the dac of eversolo
