ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

As someone who doesn't have a single Sandman figure, this works perfectly well for me, and given a choice between all the offerings out there, a relatively neutral sized with a few accessory figure would have been my first choice anyway. This is a perfectly acceptable figure and fills out a collection.

That's where I'm at, as well. I think I have most of the figures for the baf, but it seemed weirdly huge and I know he's sandy and he can be whatever but he's just a regular dude. How about a regular dude figure, please? Thanks, Hasbro.

This is EXACTLY what they should've done with Hydro Man. Sucks that he probably won't get another figure for a good long while.
I didn't think I needed this figure, having the larger BAF version. But having it in hand, I'm pleasantly surprised. I've had in on my desk for about a week, now, and there's just something about it, overall, like it popped off the comics pages.
(I don't care for the effects head, because of the expression, although it does remind me of the Robert Patton T-2-Judgement Day head, that scene where his head is shot, but heals itself while he just stares at us with that non-fazed look. That scene blew people's minds, back in the early days of CGI...)
That Sinister Six lineup looks great
They wouldn't necessarily need to retool the torso for removable arms, as on my original Hydro man, the arms would pop in and out like a typical BAF. it was really odd

To this day. The Toybiz Spider-Man classics Sandman and Scorpion are on my shelf.
My only issue with this Sandman is the paint rubbing off whenever I pull the sand arm effects off. They should have molded the plastic in flesh color and then painted the greens on.
Finally we got a powered down sandman figure.kinda wish for a new doc ock with bendy wire tentacles,new rhino and a new lizard with posable jaw and straight legs retro vintage figures
Yeah they should redo Doc Ock. Mine has two left feet.
I'm hoping for a new Doc Ock aswell. They may do either a suited version or the animated series one. Eitger way, I'm hoping for bendy wire tentacles aswell

A "gritty" review, Shartimus. Retro Sandman looks awesome. I hope BBTS will fast track the preorders like they had done with retro Hercules. Sandman is one of my many favorite villains of Spider-man.
molding the forearms in green and painting the skin tone was such a bad idea. they should’ve molded them in the skin tone color to match with the hands and paint the green. it’s way easier painting dark colors over light colors rather than the opposite. this is a great example. leaves the skin tones not matching. plus i feel like the sand effects are gonna rub off the skin color paint leaving green showing underneath. that’s my biggest gripe with this figure.
nevermind i have more problems with this. i don’t feel he’s large enough and the normal head sculpt is off. looks weird compared to what we’ve been getting lately. and the torso is strange. he has well defined chest muscles but the rest of the shirt is baggy, making him look like he has a gut kinda. idk this guy isn’t too great in my opinion. i’m sticking with my toy biz sand man

Welp, that's the figure I need for my S2 Punisher custom. Sleeves down to forearms, denim pants. Just gotta paint the pants blue, top black and put a Punisher vest on topped off with the Bernthal head. Hyped.

Sandman being a retooled Hydro Man makes sense because in the animated show, Semper chose to use Hydro Man as a replacement for Sandman.

We don't really have a "perfect" sandman figure. We need some more sand effects. Some leg stuff, arm stuff, head, neck, different torsos, the sandnado waist thing... we need some more sand stuff

I like it apart from the angry face would be better on the sandy head. Totally agree with Shartimus that they could've added some more paint detail ro the faces.

I agree man!!! I purchased the Marvel Select Sandman a little while back as well. It's badass. I think its easily it the top Select figures of all-time. I thinks it's the best Sandman yet. Like Shartimus said he can be any size. I highly recommend him for any Marvel action figure collection. You definitely need to take the time to check him out. I think a lot of people sleep on the Marvel Select Sandman figure. Seriously!?!?

mine arms broke off as soon as i attached the heavy fist. and tried to pose him lol. it just got loose like twisted on a a small attached piece of plastic then like a day or so later i tried posing him again and it broke.

I'm getting this just cause I need a Sandman figure to complete my Spider-Man villains but you're always gonna need more sand accessories when it comes to Sandman.
I'm having the same problem with this fig vs the marvel select version where do i put him in with my spidy villain self or my marvel shelf. Though I think cause of his size this 1 cause he's smaller takes up less space which can help get more figs in a standard display
If only the BAF Sandman parts were compatible with this figure. Hopefully someone will make more custom interchangeable parts for this guy like with the Movie Venom.
He could be little bit taller and I think the heads should be different (head with the hole should be screaming) but other than that I give this Sandman a sudrating of, It's not so bad.

He usually scales them with basically the best version out there and it's up to you which one you prefer. It's a tie between the Toybiz one and the Marvel Select one for me.

I was really excited for this figure, but something about that head sculpt just doesn't really work for me... he looks to young or maybe he needs a deeper receeding hairline?!?!? I will sadly be displaying my Select Sandman over this one with my Sinister Six : /

The new one is ugly, looks like a simple toy. A pity the fact that Hasbro is reducing their quality. Legends are suppossed to be the best figures, specially suited for adult collectors.
