Ya know what doesn't help these AAA companies make a profit? Spending $500B or more on developing it. Even if you sell it for $90 per copy you would need to sell 5,555,555,555 copies to break even. This is assuming you spent only and exactly $500B and are selling for more than the price of a AAAA game.
Make smaller games, those 900+ hours of bloat are not helping you make a profit!

When things become 'mainstream' and it becomes a "good investment" ... the investors get involved and companies become shareheld.
From then on the CEO is just there to increase the revenu year after year with no interest in the product itself.
When I was a kid in the 90's and early 00's ... 'Electronic Arts' was just that ... passionate about the arts ... nowadays they're among the big villains and it hasn't been about arts in a long time.

As someone who enjoyed anime a decade before it became mainstream ... I absolutely am worried with big players like Sony, Netflix, ... trying to built a monopoly and turn anime into yet another shareholder cash cow.

Down with AAA scumbags. Indie and AA studios, please transfer over to PC where the future of gaming is.
Consoles that are not Nintendo are literally just downgraded PCs without upgradability and lack of core features.

Nintendo consoles are also pretty trash, unfortantly. The only decent option is the steamdeck, which is just a tiny PC in a controller.

Don't forget that AAA games no longer sell you a complete game.
They sell you a disk that allows you to download the app for the game and complete the game with patches.
Just look at Skyrim the modding community was the ones who fixed it and stabilized the game.
Then years later they made a complete version of the game with everything the modders made and did any of those modders get paid for their work 🤨 , answer is NOPE.
So even if you buy a physical copy it very well might not be a physical copy of the game you bought if it requires a download 🤨

😢 while you are correct I always prefer the option to sell my game when I'm finished with it. And physical allows that...for now.

@@TheBaldingPlebs I agree but I tend to look for games that don't require a download 😕
