On Alice, the Knight of Wands, the background is actually depiction of Red Rock Ampitheater in Colorado. This was where her mother gave her the protection tattoo.
I also think that why the high priestess have light behind her head is to signify her knowledge, that even if her powers was taken, her knowledge still prevails
Three of Swords: 3 heartbreaks/losses: her powers, her agency, and her son. The Tower: There was at least 1 statue depicting Wiccan in the temple on Mt Wundagore and I still think when it collapsed, the energy within it escaped to inhabit Teen's body as it traveled through Wanda's magic. Maybe Teen's magical knowledge before alerted him to this new presence inside of him and, to protect himself, maybe he cast the sigil on himself. Death: a force of nature, hence the Green Witch. Rio might be Death indeed and she's part of the natural order of the universe. She doesn't kill, she just takes souls.
@@shreyu1312 i think so. Rio apparently comes out of the ground on the Witches' Road. I think "death" invites her, and Sharon's death could be how she comes in. I think she tags along with the coven to collect the souls of those that die on the Road. If she really is Death/Lady Death/the Grim Reaper, she must have been waiting for those centuries-old witches. In the first trailer, Rio is also seen teasing or trying to pressure the coven (when Agatha is in her Exorcist state, walking backwards and scaring Teen, Rio teases her by saying "what are you gonna do now" "the bodies are really piling up" and "what happens next" in all too a playful manner).
That Death tarot card also resembles the vision of Death in Lilia's hallucination. Could Rio be Death, then? Death is traditionally a cosmic being, but they could always change it.
The room of personification (or whatever it's called in the comix) was already hinted at via Love and Thunder with concepts of Love and Eternity being embodied so I wouldn't be shocked if Rio is an aspect of death, a variant essentially.
Death is a cosmic being but has taken on human Avatars before, like Khonshu (Moon Knight) and Bast (Black Panther). In Death's case, it was a woman named Marlo Chandler, the wife of Hulk's best friend, Rick Jones. Marlo has even taken on the actual role of Lady Death after Death herself retired recently. So I don't think Rio is literally Death, I think she's Death's Avatar.
The 2 triangles in the back of the card could also be the classical elements. Upward pointing one is the symbol for fire. The downward one is water. Conveniently they are opposing elements.
13:05 The circles on the bottom of the card resemble the symbol on the front door of the house in Episode 3 (Lilia notes it resembles the phases of the moon ( like you noted) and Teen comments that it is full which is the Water Phase (they later realize they were under water)). Additionally, the large circle on the top of the card resembles the large circle on all the doors inside the house. I think the hourglass symbolizes the 30-minute time limit they had in Episode 3 to escape the first trial in the house. Thoughts?
Awesome catch! Yes, those moons did indeed match what was on the door. Maybe we’ll see different parts of the back of the card on each new door? So they’ll see the hourglass on another door, for example? I’ll definitely be watching for it during episode four!
You’re probably not gonna read this, but I actually think the back of the cards resemble the different elements or trials the coven has to go through. Before they enter the water trial, it shows the phases of the moon which is commonly associated with water and the tide. The triangles symbolize fire and earth respectively and the moon at the top symbolizes air as a phase of the moon! Just speculation but pretty cool!
I now believe Rio was Mrs. Hart the whole time because after she comes from the ground (which seems like from Mrs. Hart’s grave) she says “heard you guys were having a party” and Agatha convinced Mrs. Hart to join by saying she was having a party
Yeah, I'm really torn on whether Rio was Mrs. Hart all along (I'm leaning that direction) or if Rio was able to enter the Road via Mrs. Hart's death and somehow Rio knew about what Mrs. Hart had said previously (less sure on that). We'll hopefully get our answer in a few short days!
@@AbitofEverything4Uimagine if it was Rio all along… I’m waiting for another music number with Rio as Mrs hart just creating havoc ala Agatha all along song.
@@AbitofEverything4U I have the feeling it's the destruction of her mother's coven as she was the leader with a blue crown of that coven and the 3 of pentacles is the creation of her new coven when it comes to interpreting them as the tower being higher learning and destruction and the other being Apprenticeship, teamwork, hard work paying off type thing.
the tower card represents a scheme or ssytem that is not based on authenticity and truth, like a deception being destroyed. If that's teen and mephisto falling from the tower, it suggests maybe wanda is resurrected and destroys whatever they're doing tog et her kids back
The connection of the tower card to Mt Wundagore has made me think Teen’s backstory connects more to the all the copies of the Darkhold being destroyed (which they’ve mentioned a few times) than we’ve considered. Maybe instead of the twins souls being shards of Mephisto, they were captured or absorbed by the Darkhold at the end of Wandavision and when all the copies were destroyed they were released and reincarnated as they were in the comics. Wanda did hear them calling out to her when she was reading the Darkhold in the post credits scene of Wandavision. The two people falling from the tower could represent Billy and Tommy’s souls escaping from the Darkhold. Chaos and upheaval indeed! Idk I’m just spitballing but it’s fun to speculate.
I love that! Honestly, I think that ties it all together even better. The only issue is Teen saying things happened when he was 13, which puts us more around the time of Wandavision rather than MoM, when he would be 14. But otherwise it fits perfectly. I agree, this is so much fun to speculate!
Hi, man! You might be onto something with this! I'm doing a catch up on the latest episodes of the Official Marvel Podcast (if you're not following it I highgly recommend it) and I just listened to an episode in which they interviewed Mary Livanos, an executive producer on this show. The episode is about a month old and it's called "Agatha Harkness: A Dark and Twisted History" and at around the 12 minutes mark the interviewer asks her "How much of a witch are you?" and she replies, quote: "What a question. I am a bit of a witch myself. Actually, it's funny to recall back when I interned at Marvel. At the time I was learning how to read tarot cards, which then actually came in quite handy during this production. I won't get too much into it, it's a bit of a spoiler, but there are some tarot cards and it was fun to bring some of my knowledge to this project." As soon as I heard this quote I immediately hit pause and came here to write this comment. The tarot cards absolutely have a significance within this show, and the fact that she says that it's "a bit of a spoiler" makes me think that this is not just a merchandise thing.
Only halfway through this video & want to thank you for really giving us a proper deep dive/ breakdown full of more direct clues that Marvel has laid out. Haven't seen any of the larger breakdown channels delve into the tarot cards yet. Great job
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah, I found this topic to be really interesting. Lots to think about and so many hints and clues to where things may be going in future episodes!
For the Tower, my suspicion would be the accident; the near death mentioned in the credits, carwreck Agatha mentioned in detective mode, and what the teen said something big hallened 3 years ago. The two people being his parents he has mentioned a couple times, which would have been saved by the front airbags.
Lilia's card depicts a castle because in the trailer, it was hinted her trial will take place in a castle (due to the dress she wore and swords falling), somewhat a homage to Wizard of Oz. As for Alice's, the symbol above may be the flying female demon. In one trailer, it seems to appear and hop over Alice's shoulders as it burns. Crown in Teen's card might be Wanda's crown, and the two people may indeed be Billy and Tommy. As their 838 versions were present in Wundagore when Wanda tried to get them. Maybe a representation of their falling out to 616 Wanda.
Sorry about bringing the vid up so much...but I just love how Marvel did this cool marketing and how many clues the cards hold for the show. I'm really interested to see if there will be even more hints for future episodes hidden in the tarot cards!
I am really interested in the Knight of Wands card. Here are the things I noticed which may or may not related: 1. the pattern on the knight's tunic looks like a lizard or salamander. Salamander commonly represents fire. 2. The coat of arms, the middle one has a dragon, also commonly related to fire. The other two, not so sure. Dragons are also prominent in East Asian culture, perhaps related to Alice's heritage. 3. The right coat of arms has an interesting design, it's not symmetrical, and has a weird shape that does not resemble anything. The top part above the circles could be a candle flame being blown. 4. The knight is facing west, so Westview? or protecting from something coming from the west? Wanda comes from Westview, so protection from Wanda? Also, tarot cards are collectable items in Marvel's Midnight Sun. A hint to a future project maybe?
Love this video and the insight it brings. 10's across the board as always with your videos. One think I thought on the credits is that the magician card represents Teen. Being surrounded by the 5 other Coven witches cards. Again your channel is simply the best. Kudos to all who contribute to your research
Im excited that they put so much thought into this. Also, if Rio is death, which she definitely is, there could be several important meetings in her future. Deadpool - Aubrey Plaza is a comedian, so her and Ryan Reynolds is a must. Thanos - Thanos has an obsession with her. They should explore that. Black Widow - maybe she gives Nat a second chance Tony Stark - A cool way to bring him back for 48hrs. No longer.
Yeah, those Funko's being spoilers really surprised me, but it does seem there have been a ton of clues even before those Funko's regarding the identity of Teen and Rio. I'm loving this series so far. All the mysteries are so much fun!
Ikr? Who would’ve thought this would’ve been such an interesting topic. It does seem like there are probably some more hints at future episodes because not everything we see in the cards has occurred yet.
Agatha so far has the coolest promo material, so many small clues to create conversation. I think the blue crown in the tower card says a lot of who "Teen" is 👀
Oh hey, one of my favourite Beyond the Trailer enjoyers 😝 glad to see you over here too! I think it's a direct link to not only Wiccan being the demiurge but also that recent Xmen run with the dominions, there was a lot of symbolism with crowns and jewels and whatnot. Full speed ahead to Krakoa!
Hey! So there’s a new Lego Marvel short film coming out this October on Disney+… was wondering if you could cover the Lego Marvel timeline of games, short films, and dlc since they are technically canon to the MCU via Across The Spider-Verse. Many people have already tried but they are either very out of date or missing some projects so I thought I would ask the expert!
That's a good suggestion. I should look into that. It's probably not an easy topic to tackle as there are so many shorts and films, but I suspect it would be a very cool topic!
I'm doing research on witch history . I'm not gonna spoil for Rio, P( pretty sad that it was leaked) but there's something else too. If you look at the ep. 3 end credits, there's something there. 👀
Dang, now you have me curious. What's the thing to look for in the ending credits. Aubrey's name always appears over a nasty looking spider making a web. Is that something we should be considering?
I assumed that the different fonts for ep titles were just to further create the library card look. As the episode list released is the same layout as a library checkout sheet, and the same as those shown to represent the darkhold ownership in Ep 1.
I don’t even know Marvel had released their own tarot card set! Definitely something to look out for. I wonder if they will have one of the characters do a tarot reading with those cards specifically. Also good catch on the different fonts! I wonder if you look at the fonts of shows/movies that have already been referenced, if we will find any similarities.
It's so awesome that Marvel made their own tarot cards. Such a great way to tie into the show and to give us even more content to pour over and theorize about. So cool! And yeah, those fonts do indeed seem to be hinting at the episodes. I am loving everything about the series so far!
The details in this show continue to impress! I’m also now realizing that “The Tower” tarot card (as with all these cards) are actually legitimate works… in Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince that’s the same card Professor Trelawney has that predicts Dumbledore’s death in the Astronomy Tower. I thought that was something JK Rowling made up… I had no idea that it was a legit pre-existing thing!
That’s a good point… The tarot cards in Harry Potter were also used to predict their future. Yeah, I was surprised that there was an official set of Tarot cards, and I love how the Agatha show has adapted them to put in their own Easter eggs!
Ikr? I was so surprised by how interesting this topic was. The marketing promotional materials for Agatha have been amazing… So it’s honestly no surprise that the show itself has also been top-notch!
I think either the symbol or the crest on the top of the Knight of Hearts may represent the Demon from episode 4. The physical manifestation of the curse. Could be the middle crest - red bird like being with open wings, clawed feet positioned almost like it is about to land on Alice's shoulders. Or the symbol at the top, could be outspreads wings, or eyes, mouth and beak. That or the symbol at the top is two people clasping hands together to form a stylised heart shape - maybe a reference to the protection spell and bond between mother and daughter. And the shapes that could look like wings then may be two blades on either side. Sorry for the long message. Great video!💜
The castle in the queen of cups card is really bothering. For some reason intead of using the original queen of cups card and altering it, they used the 4 of wands card and edited that one. And called it the queen of cups. Since there's just one and she's sitting with a cup (glass of wine?) and the hourglass (time running out) i think this is Sharon who dies in a trial that is timed and where she drinks wine.
How interesting...that's a good catch regarding the 4 of wands card. Hmmmm...wonder why they did that. I also heard a theory that the person at the table was young Lilia that we saw in the episode. That is definitely a tricky card to figure out!
Well, I'm not at all into terot cards, but I find these intentional Marvel Easter eggs really fascinating, so... thank you for making all these connections to Agatha and her coven, so that I don't have to!
Yep, I’m in the same boat. I’m not really into tarot cards, but I thought this marketing idea was fascinating and I love how they connected everything so well. I’ve been really impressed with Agatha’s show so far!
Yes! I can’t believe I forgot to mention that. I did go ahead and mention it in my breakdown for Agatha episode 4, because that’s such a cool connection. In fact, the little girl that calls to Lilia looks exactly like the girl sitting at the table on the queen of cups card.
@@AbitofEverything4U Awesome. All good! You opened this up series up in new ways for me. Great time spent on your channel. I know that Jac Schaeffer is a huge fan of TWIN PEAKS (the masterpiece by David Lynch and Mark Frost). "The Magician longs to see..." -- the Lunar calendar symbols and the Tarot play into TWIN PEAKS also. Maybe there are a few nods there also... IDK
I've never think that I have to learn about tarot cards for Marvel hahah And omgggggg the signature makes totally sense, maybe the person who put the sigil on teen do the cards and also it's behind of all of this, that's so cool. And looking in all this meaning, it makes me think that Agatha doesn't have a trial in the witches road, like everyone else have water, earth, fire and wind but where is Agatha's trial? Great video Iove the tarot cards, and I would love to see one about the fonts and also the outfits of the coven, I saw that are hints in everyone's outfit, especially Teen. 🎉
Well, the pentagram (represented by the door of the witches' road) has 5 elements: water, fire, earth, air and spirit. So I think Agatha's trial is the last one...
An unexpected video, but an interesting one nonetheless. 12:40 Speaking of Death, she is also one of the Cosmic Entities displayed on the walls inside the temple on Morag in GOTG.
Upon examining this tarot spread, my interpretation suggests a phase of significant transformation and emotional upheaval, potentially involving heartbreak or a painful ending. This period may require the person to confront their inner feelings and rely on their intuition. However, it also presents an opportunity for growth and new beginnings. Collaboration with others and pursuing their passions with courage and enthusiasm can help navigate the challenging time and emerge stronger and more fulfilled. I feel like I pretty much sums up Agatha’s storyline.
I want to point out that the Tarot suits each represent an element Fire for wands, Water for cups, Earth for pentacles, and Air for swords. But apparently character resemblance and card meaning have a bigger role in Marvels use of the deck
did you notice that the garlands of flowers from Rio's card are also on the magician card? That suggests that Rio is the one masterminding this entire sequence of events
Had no idea Marvel released this stuff, that's cool. The Tarot cards having the sigil as a signature is ... fascinating to me. I agree with you on the Agatha and Coven cards, very cool. I think the Lilia card is representative of divination, the castle is a curious bit. As for Knight of Wands, very uncertain on it. In The Tower I thought it was Billy and his boyfriend but then realized it's more likely to be Billy and Tommy. I love how it also represents Wundagore and maybe Wanda too. We obviously know because of the Funko leaks what the Death card is representative of. The card back is ... really interesting too because I have no idea what it could mean.
Considering Lilia saw Death, and Rio is being represented by the Death card, its interesting that its Lilia that had the most averse reaction to Rio. Lilia even made the point to Rio that she hasn’t forgotten what Rio said.
Maybe for Alice’s card the symbol at the top is the curse that was over the family but unseen. The curse demon is being kept away by the crest. Maybe she’s not just holding a staff but that it really represents a mic stand since she’s a Red Rocks and she has to sing to kill the curse.
no idea if this has been pointed out yet but, the tower card i believe the two folks falling are the salem seven due to the black garments. from one of the trailers we do see the seven i think floating in one of the trials
9:43 That symbol looks like crossbows to me, and I find that triggering (pun) because Alice uses her craft to imbue magic into her firearms. In between those crossbows it almost looks like 2 people holding hands or about to hug, forming a shield shape, and below that is a tiny black shield.
The magician card I think is Billy, he usually wore a red cloak or a red cape and looks like Merlin for those who don’t know Wiccan and Hulking are inspired by Merlin and Prince Arthur
The Queen of Cups is shaped like the Maestra from her hallucination, plus there is a green figure behind her (alluding to the funko pops and what was behind the maestra in the hallucination) plus it might be a mention to how she can tell the future (or when she can fortell someone’s death etc.)
i feel like that the changes to the tarot cards aren't just for the sake of promo/merch. i think this deck is the actual version that exists in the MCU instead of the rider-waite. and being a divination witch (and "psychic") Lilia would use this deck all the time, becoming intimately familiar with the details of the cards and their symbolism. so whenever she mentions a tarot card seemingly randomly, it wouldn't surprise me that it's not actually random at all but more likely she is recognising a connection between these cards and what is happening. ie. when she calls Jen "High Priestess", i don't think she's referring to her title but rather recognising her as the figure from the High Priestess tarot card. Similarly, i think Agatha's card is a direct reference to ep 4. as the group is carrying and placing Teen on the stump, Lilia is standing nearby watching and she says "three of swords". she recognises that card represents this moment as not only the figure on the card looks like agatha but also the pose she is in is the same as how agatha is holding/carrying Teen under his shoulders. the meaning of the card also fits as at this point, agatha still thinks Teen might be her son so is very distressed at the thought of possibly losing him again
That signature and sigil looks an awful lot like a combined WM for Wanda Maximoff. I really like your theory that Teen is Billy and Wanda subconsciously casted this sigil. We have to remember that sigils work on the witch that cast it too, and they of course only work to witches. I’m wondering at what point of Multiverse of Madness would Wanda have possibly casted this sigil and I’m thinking to the very end where she perhaps thought that it would be best to completely forget about her children.
The magician cards has symbols from the other cards on it. That represent the three of pentacles, the three of swords , the queen of cups, the knight of Wanda and death. I can't see anything from the tower or the high priestess.
Despite being Knight of Wands her form is actually that of the 7 of Wands which is a card of defence. They blend cards alot in these like how the roses of the Magician card on the Death card 💀 and the 4 of Wands castle in the background of this Queen of Cups 🏰
Great observation! So I wonder if they are implying that elements from the meaning of both cards are going to affect the characters who are assigned an amalgam card?
@AbitofEverything4U I agree, like for example the 4 of Wands can mean a celebration of some sort. Perhaps Lilia predicted a tragedy taking place during a celebration which contributed to her being chased out of the city when it came to pass. Or in the Magican blended with Death, the Magician is the master at utilizing and manipulating the elements. Could that mean that behind the scenes Rio is using the other witches/the roads trials as a means to an end? All things to speculate about
I know it's not relevant to the video but I do feel compelled to add the following to the comments as a footnote to those interested: Tarot Cards are much older than just the Rider Waite deck. Tarot are just playing cards just like any other set of playing cards out there. And just like any playing card suites out there, they can and are used for divination. The Raider-Waite deck is a suite and spread that was specifically meant for divination rather than playing and it's spread has become pretty much the most well known. So much so that other decks are created following the Rider Waite format but changing the visuals (but fitting the same meaning and vibe intended by original Rider Waite deck). I say this because not only is the Rider Waite Tarot much younger than the card suite itself but it is also not even the only or the first subset created specifically for divinition/cartomancy. It's just the most well known and darn near ubiquitous at this point.
Again, this is not an "um actually". Nothing in the video is wrong and the wider history of Tarot or cartomancy divination in general is not relevant to the topic. The Rider Waite deck is pretty much the standard in Tarot divination conversations and as this show relies heavily on magic symbolism of many different things it takes whole sale from the Rider Waite Tarot for good reason. So nothing is wrong in the video. Just wanted to add a footnote to any other person that might find extra information on Tarot as a kind of fun fact. (It feels like a little known fact that Tarot by name is just a suite of cards like the bicycle French suite that we often use when we just say "playing cards" even though they're not too dissimilar (4 suites with 10 pips and 3 faces with a trump suite containing one card The joker)... compare that with traditional Tarot (4 suites with 10 pips and 4 faces) and a trump suite that had a variable number of cards but always had the fool).
Wow...that was some cool info! Thanks for taking the time to write all that out. I learned alot. Truly appreciate all your awesome contributions to the channel and the Discord!
Hey ya. As a big fan of the tower card ( I have a tower card talisman I wear on occasion) I just wanted to share some things I've noticed. The tower is usually the end of an established concept or system of authority. Not like how death is like a rebirth, but there's finality in this card. Teens identity might be ending as he knows it. Because he's pursuing a metaphysical path he might be losing his more earthly connections. To me the other person on the card looks like "boyf". He's wrapped in wiccans cape, while teen is not. (Like a boyfriend sweater.) Wanda doing what she did has triggered something changing that can't be undone. Usually the ones falling are the king and church leader from the emperor and hierophant cards. It often means a status quo change from the previous authority figures. Towers, cities, and man made structures represent earthly concepts, physical concepts, while mountains represent spiritual ones, and clear blue skies mean you are being given a clearer path by a larger force at play. Teens authority over himself and his physical connections to other non magical people are eroding because a larger spiritual force at play is no longer able to protect him. ( That's what I'm getting. ) P.s the magician card is likely not random in the credits. It fits that lillias credits would feature a card, but it's likely more to represent the road. Each suit in the deck represents an element. Cups is water, the emotional element. Pentacles/coins is material, and earthly, like ores and gems. Swords is passionate fire. Wands or rods are air, and represent thoughtfulness. The magician stands at the alter gathering all these things to use at his command. It's as if to say your inner self, when balanced by the four elements, can handle any trial. Your road will be easier if you can master them. The magician represents the adversity of the road and the promised empowerment that happens when a witch has mastered these elements inside herself.
Wow! That was some incredible insight. It’s so cool that Marvel used tarot cards for the Agatha show and it just adds one more layer to the mysteries. Thank you so much for sharing all of that about the tower card and the magician card. I loved reading it all!
@@AbitofEverything4U yeah. That magician card is definitely going to give clues about the danger related to each trial, and the other cards will represent who each trials for. Potions, water. Cups. Protection, swords, fire. Earth, money/food security, Rio? It's why every line Mrs. Heart has in the first trial is materialistic. And air, thoughtfulness, lillia.
I just watched eps4 and the three swords card appeared, and the starting wizard also said "three swords" during the scene where the teen was injured and Agatha was sad, panicked and lost, sadness, where the card also had same meaning.
@@AbitofEverything4U It's not shown clearly in card form but Lilia mentions "three swords" in minute 28:11 at ep 4 when she saw Agatha panic Like when first met Jane she said "high priest". Then I also just remembered that throughout the film the number 3 is also mentioned a lot. The number of paintings on the walls of the house, the number of masks, the number of spells Jane used to heal teen
Perfect! Okay, that makes sense. I didn't see the card, but you are absolutely right about the Three of Swords being mentioned. And the Three of Pentacles was even mentioned in Episode 2 when Agatha first met with Lilia. Love all the tarot card references!
@@gumiho8352 in the comics Lilia dies so I have that feeling as well but I’m hoping she doesn’t at some point in the comics she helps Wanda maximoff with witchcraft and magic just like Agatha
Just curious: you didn’t want to ask actual tarot readers about these cards? Or: There’s a really great UA-cam channel called “Kippi’s Kwest” that talk about each of these cards in detail. And I think Kippi’s videos could’ve helped you here. I really do hope Marvel comes out with an actual “Agatha All Along” tarot deck. Disney made a tarot deck for villains in their movies, so it’d be nice to see Marvel do it for this show.
Oh drat, did I get alot of that wrong. I didn't watch that YT channel, but I did try to do alot of research on the cards. Sorry if I botched it. And I agree, I'd love it if Marvel comes out with an official Agatha All Along tarot deck. That would be amazing!
The Triangles are symbols of Fire and Water, (also Goddess and the God) and in Occult, it is the union of the microcosm and macrocosm, as above so below.
In the original Tower card at the top is the Roman numeral 16...how old is Teen on The Road 🤔 I'm really thinking Teen is Billy and their souls were released when Wanda destroyed and seemingly crushed in the Tower: she had to let them go so they could grow while she's out healing her(self/soul) and that's why she put the sigil on him (so that no one figures out who he is before time and attempts to harm him); the sigil even looks like "WM."
That's a very cool detail about the Tower card. Fit's perfectly. And I like your theory on the sigil and Billy. The show has set up so many great mysteries. Loving it so far!
Hi, Marvel has introduced so many different aliens and gods which is becoming more and more confusing. Can you make a video about all the gods like celestials, eternity, Olympians, the entities that created the infinity stones. there are so many so can you make a hierarchy of the gods.
That’s a cool idea! It’s always interesting to look at the hierarchy of the god-like beings. That said, I would have to pull a lot from comics lore because the movies have not told us much about which entities are more powerful. So my hope is that they’re assuming we will go off the comic lore. But yeah, that sounds like a really cool video to make!
I think the two individuals on the tower card could be the Salem 7 cause in the trailer you see Lilia and the Salem 7 floating upside down and also I think that’s what it represents like the chaos see how the tower is broken and these individuals are falling I think that’s what it is
Maybe a little of topic but why did Agatha not loose her mind after reading in the dark hold? I mean doktore Strange grew a third eye and Wanda tried power lifting a temple and was crushed, Agatha seems normal?
I totally agree...I really can't stand leaks. And I am so mad at myself that I didn't even realize it was even a leak. My new rule is to check Amazon and if I don't see it listed there, I ain't talking about it!

The room of personification (or whatever it's called in the comix) was already hinted at via Love and Thunder with concepts of Love and Eternity being embodied so I wouldn't be shocked if Rio is an aspect of death, a variant essentially.
@@nailinthefashion Agreed...that would be very cool!
@@WhiteRaven696 Great points!
The magician means " is interpreted with energy, potential, and the manifestation of one's desires" there were six stacks surrounding it
Oh wow...okay, so that is a very well placed card, then. Love that!
The symbols at the top of each tarot card is the same as the necklaces each woman wears. Another way to point out who each card is for.
Ah, great catch! I agree, that's a very nice connection!
The 2 triangles in the back of the card could also be the classical elements. Upward pointing one is the symbol for fire. The downward one is water. Conveniently they are opposing elements.
Ah, niiiiice! Yeah, that would make alot of sense!
@@AbitofEverything4U Maybe. But it looks like everything on that card was related to the house in Episode 3 and what went on inside the house.
Good point. Yeah, you may be right about that theory!
Niiiiiice! I can totally see that being the case. Great theory!
I now believe Rio was Mrs. Hart the whole time because after she comes from the ground (which seems like from Mrs. Hart’s grave) she says “heard you guys were having a party” and Agatha convinced Mrs. Hart to join by saying she was having a party
She was not Mrs. Heart the whole time, she is just able to use her death to get access to the road.
I agree...Rio needs to cut loose in the next song!
the blue crown looks a lot like agatha's mother's crown too
Oh, now that's a great point!
Great theory!
the tower card represents a scheme or ssytem that is not based on authenticity and truth, like a deception being destroyed. If that's teen and mephisto falling from the tower, it suggests maybe wanda is resurrected and destroys whatever they're doing tog et her kids back
Very interesting. Man, that tower card is fascinating with all the meaning behind it!
The Lady Death thing could be true - after all, when Rio and Agatha fought in ep 1, Agatha said stealing Rio's power would kill her
And that she wanted to see her horizontal….in a grave
Great points! Yeah, it sure is looking like Rio has at least some tie to death!
@@andreaaprico1704 Right! That's another tie between Rio and death!
As someone who loves marvel but doesn’t know the lore, I appreciate finding this account on a random Sunday
Great to have you here! Thanks so much for watching. I love to go into deep dives on the shows and movies!
The episode is about a month old and it's called "Agatha Harkness: A Dark and Twisted History" and at around the 12 minutes mark the interviewer asks her "How much of a witch are you?" and she replies, quote:
"What a question. I am a bit of a witch myself. Actually, it's funny to recall back when I interned at Marvel. At the time I was learning how to read tarot cards, which then actually came in quite handy during this production. I won't get too much into it, it's a bit of a spoiler, but there are some tarot cards and it was fun to bring some of my knowledge to this project."
As soon as I heard this quote I immediately hit pause and came here to write this comment. The tarot cards absolutely have a significance within this show, and the fact that she says that it's "a bit of a spoiler" makes me think that this is not just a merchandise thing.
Oh yeah, I forgot all about that interview. How cool!
Wow this was a great breakdown! Glad i found your channel, love this show and all the mysteries in it 🔮
Great to have you here! I agree...so many cool mysteries and love how they are being slowly unpacked with each episode!
For the Tower, my suspicion would be the accident; the near death mentioned in the credits, carwreck Agatha mentioned in detective mode, and what the teen said something big hallened 3 years ago. The two people being his parents he has mentioned a couple times, which would have been saved by the front airbags.
Excellent theories...I completely agree!
Excellent theories. Loving all the speculation that this series encourages!
You kept telling me to watch this in ur episode 4 breakdown, so here I am
Sorry about bringing the vid up so much...but I just love how Marvel did this cool marketing and how many clues the cards hold for the show. I'm really interested to see if there will be even more hints for future episodes hidden in the tarot cards!
Thanks for the tarot cards breakdown 🎉
My pleasure! Was such an interesting topic. Love how Marvel made such creative promotional materials!
I am really interested in the Knight of Wands card. Here are the things I noticed which may or may not related:
1. the pattern on the knight's tunic looks like a lizard or salamander.
Very cool observations on that Knight of Wands card. Love it!
Imagine they revel The Devil Tarot card and it shows Mephisto on it

Yeah, this was a surprisingly interesting topic. Man, they really did a great job with the promotional materials for the show!
The stacked triangles on the back of the card also conveniently form a W and M. Hinting Wanda Maximof perhaps?
Intriguing! You're right!
Love this video and the insight it brings. 10's across the board as always with your videos. One think I thought on the credits is that the magician card represents Teen. Being surrounded by the 5 other Coven witches cards. Again your channel is simply the best. Kudos to all who contribute to your research
Good suggestion about the magician being Teen. I like that. And thanks for the positive feedback on the vid. Really appreciate it!
Black Widow - maybe she gives Nat a second chance
Tony Stark - A cool way to bring him back for 48hrs. No longer.
Excellent ideas for what to do with Lady Death. Love that!
great video. I'm a big tarot card guy so this was very informative!
Yeah, I found this to be really interesting. Love that Marvel is putting this much detail into the show!
This is so cool! Thank you for covering this topic!
I agree...it was a surprisingly interesting topic!
Wow i didn't know about the signature !!!!!
And by the way, it kinda matches 100% with the Funko Spoilers 👀
Yeah, those Funko's being spoilers really surprised me, but it does seem there have been a ton of clues even before those Funko's regarding the identity of Teen and Rio. I'm loving this series so far. All the mysteries are so much fun!
I never would have thought about the merch, what a good find. I wonder how much this is going to predict the rest of the series.

Omg I’d love to see that :D
💯🎉
Was waiting for you to cover this!
I was blown away by what an interesting topic this turned out to be!
Very interesting. Can’t wait to see how all of these eventually pay off, if they do, of course.
Yeah, I found it very interesting as well. The first 4 episodes have already included so many elements of those cards. Very cool marketing by Marvel!
Good point...that could be the reason for it!
Didn't know these existed but still very cool!
I agree… It ended up being a fascinating topic. Love the marking materials for Agatha… So many cool hints about the direction the show is taking!
Didn’t think I’d learn something about tarot cards today, but here we are 🤷🏼♂️
Fantastic theory...yeah, think that's a great explanation of the symbol on the top of the card. Love it!
Knight of Wands, I think that's earbuds to represent how important it was for people to listen to Lorna's Ballad.
Oh, now that's a cool theory!
Great video! Isn't the Queen of Cups alluded to in Episode Three when Lilia sees the dead woman at the table and Death approaches from behind her?
IDK
That would be epic if they allude to Twin Peaks at some point!
ikr? Who knew we'd have fun researching tarot cards for a D+ show? I do wonder what Agatha's trial will be. Can't wait to find out!
Well, the pentagram (represented by the door of the witches' road) has 5 elements: water, fire, earth, air and spirit. So I think Agatha's trial is the last one...

Very true! Yeah, death has appeared a couple times. I can’t wait to see what ends up happening with Rio in this series!
We've seen the symbol on the back of the cards in episode 3. It was on the front door of the beach house.
Great point!
Loving the s*t out of all the theories and analysis of this show
Ikr? The writers for the show have done such a great job with all of the mysteries. It’s been so much fun to theorize where things are going!
Great analysis...I agree, that does indeed sound like Agatha's story!
I want to point out that the Tarot suits each represent an element Fire for wands, Water for cups, Earth for pentacles, and Air for swords. But apparently character resemblance and card meaning have a bigger role in Marvels use of the deck
Oh wow...that's cool. Thanks for sharing that! Tarot cards are so fascinating to me. Love that Marvel decided to use them for the show!
11:30 Also- the number for Teen’s original tarot card “The Tower” is XVI (16), which is his age in the series… 😅🙃👀
Niiiiiiiice!
did you notice that the garlands of flowers from Rio's card are also on the magician card? That suggests that Rio is the one masterminding this entire sequence of events
Oh now that’s a really good catch! I wasn’t sure what to think about that magician card, but I like that!
This topic was waaaaaaay more interesting than I thought it would be. Very cool promotional item from Marvel. Love it!
Considering Lilia saw Death, and Rio is being represented by the Death card, its interesting that its Lilia that had the most averse reaction to Rio. Lilia even made the point to Rio that she hasn’t forgotten what Rio said.
That’s a good point… Perhaps Lilia can sense that Rio is tied to death somehow.
Maybe for Alice’s card the symbol at the top is the curse that was over the family but unseen. The curse demon is being kept away by the crest. Maybe she’s not just holding a staff but that it really represents a mic stand since she’s a Red Rocks and she has to sing to kill the curse.
Oh, I love both of those answers. Very good theories!
no idea if this has been pointed out yet but, the tower card i believe the two folks falling are the salem seven due to the black garments. from one of the trailers we do see the seven i think floating in one of the trials
That’s a cool theory. I could definitely see that being the case!
The roses at the top of Marvel’s Death card are also above the Rider-Waite Magician card
Interesting...I didn't see those flowers on the Rider-Waite card.
9:43 That symbol looks like crossbows to me, and I find that triggering (pun) because Alice uses her craft to imbue magic into her firearms. In between those crossbows it almost looks like 2 people holding hands or about to hug, forming a shield shape, and below that is a tiny black shield.
Those are good theories!
The magician card I think is Billy, he usually wore a red cloak or a red cape and looks like Merlin for those who don’t know Wiccan and Hulking are inspired by Merlin and Prince Arthur
I could definitely see Teen being the Magician card. That would definitely fit nicely!
The Queen of Cups is shaped like the Maestra from her hallucination, plus there is a green figure behind her (alluding to the funko pops and what was behind the maestra in the hallucination) plus it might be a mention to how she can tell the future (or when she can fortell someone’s death etc.)
Oh, now that's very cool. I love those theories!
i feel like that the changes to the tarot cards aren't just for the sake of promo/merch. i think this deck is the actual version that exists in the MCU instead of the rider-waite. and being a divination witch (and "psychic") Lilia would use this deck all the time, becoming intimately familiar with the details of the cards and their symbolism. so whenever she mentions a tarot card seemingly randomly, it wouldn't surprise me that it's not actually random at all but more likely she is recognising a connection between these cards and what is happening.
ie. when she calls Jen "High Priestess", i don't think she's referring to her title but rather recognising her as the figure from the High Priestess tarot card.
Oh wow! I love that. I think you nailed it!
I think the episode fonts emphasise the TV genre they represent.
Great theory!
Yeah, it sure does look alot like W M...I can't wait to learn if it was Wanda that cast it!
11:30 the crown on the mountain lowkey looks like the scarlet witch’s crown 🫡
Good point!
That's not a tree behind the knight. It's the Red Rock Amphitheater in Colorado. In Episode 2 Teen said his mother saw Alice's mother perform there.
That’s a great catch! What a cool detail.
Oh, Rio being Death in the cards could be relating to the end of Ep3.
Good theory!
The magician cards has symbols from the other cards on it. That represent the three of pentacles, the three of swords , the queen of cups, the knight of Wanda and death. I can't see anything from the tower or the high priestess.
Niiiiice! Okay, I need to give that magician card another look. Perhaps it's actually really important after all!
All things to speculate about
Excellent theories!
I know it's not relevant to the video but I do feel compelled to add the following to the comments as a footnote to those interested:
Tarot Cards are much older than just the Rider Waite deck.
@10:34 That crown actually looks like Wanda logo a little bit, you know her M shaped head crown.
True...I can see that now. Good theory!
I think The Tower represents Salem's Seven. There was a scene of them falling off a castle
Cool theory! Can't wait to see where things go with the Salem Seven!
( That's what I'm getting. )
P.s the magician card is likely not random in the credits.
Great points...can't wait to see where things lead from here!
I just watched eps4 and the three swords card appeared, and the starting wizard also said "three swords" during the scene where the teen was injured and Agatha was sad, panicked and lost, sadness, where the card also had same meaning.
I love that! I heard that 3 of swords reference as well. Although I haven't seen the card in the episode. Where did you see it?
Queen of Cups is Young Lilia. If it means to help others, Lilia did say “save Agatha” so she may end up sacrificing herself to save Agatha.
Great catch! Yeah, that does fit very well with Lilia!
@@gumiho8352 in the comics Lilia dies so I have that feeling as well but I’m hoping she doesn’t at some point in the comics she helps Wanda maximoff with witchcraft and magic just like Agatha
@@jonhamartinez9760 Uh oh...that doesn't bode well for Lilia!
12:00 "no death for witches, only transformation" by sabrina spellman
Niiiiice! Yeah, that does fit in very well with the overall themes of the show!
Anyone else see the hourglass symbol on the back as the logo of the TVA from Loki?
Yeah, it does indeed look like that!
Nice! That fits really well with the themes of the show!
I didn't read through everyone's comment but that wasn't a tree that was the Rocks where her mother last played before she died
Fantastic catch! I agree, that makes alot of sense!
In the original Tower card at the top is the Roman numeral 16...how old is Teen on The Road 🤔
I'm really thinking Teen is Billy and their souls were released when Wanda destroyed and seemingly crushed in the Tower: she had to let them go so they could grow while she's out healing her(self/soul) and that's why she put the sigil on him (so that no one figures out who he is before time and attempts to harm him); the sigil even looks like "WM."
That's a very cool detail about the Tower card. Fit's perfectly. And I like your theory on the sigil and Billy. The show has set up so many great mysteries. Loving it so far!
Where was this promotion? I can't find it anywhere online officially.
Here's where I found it on Amazon: www.amazon.com/stores/page/57161F7E-09E7-4160-906F-3BB3609DD52E
I believe that it is not a tree behind Alice's card but red rock the amphitheater where her mother performed.
Ah, great call! Love it!
Do you think the symbol at the top of the knight card could be the generational curse looming over Alice?
It sure seems like that has to be the case. If so, that's very eerie to think the demon is literally hovering over her on the card!
Lilia says three of swords when Agatha was crying
That was awesome!
The two falli g from the tower coild also be his parents. Re: the accident tag line in credits.
Good point! Yeah, the two falling are definitely a mystery yet to be unpacked.
THE MAGICIAN CARD REPRESENTS WANDA !!
Oh, now that's a cool idea!
The top circle on the back of the cards may mean “eclipse” and not another moon phase.
Oh, good point! Yeah, I bet you're right on that!
I think the two individuals on the tower card could be the Salem 7 cause in the trailer you see Lilia and the Salem 7 floating upside down and also I think that’s what it represents like the chaos see how the tower is broken and these individuals are falling I think that’s what it is
Clever theory! Yeah, I hadn't considered the Salem Seven might be represented in the cards somewhere!
Maybe a little of topic but why did Agatha not loose her mind after reading in the dark hold? I mean doktore Strange grew a third eye and Wanda tried power lifting a temple and was crushed, Agatha seems normal?
That's a great question. I can only assume she knew of its dangers and kept it at arm's length, but I agree, I'd like to know that answer.
I hope Morena Baccarin is still Death, now that Deadpool is in the MCU
Good point...yeah, that would be a very cool role for her to play!
i hate leaks that ruin things, those funko leaks were brutal
I totally agree...I really can't stand leaks. And I am so mad at myself that I didn't even realize it was even a leak. My new rule is to check Amazon and if I don't see it listed there, I ain't talking about it!
