This really resonates with me. Trying to control my eczema and Seb Derm flairs was the gateway reason I started really paying attention to the foods I eat/drink, my activity level, the ingredients in the products I put on my body or used I use to wash my clothes. Glad to see more and more people talking about sensitive skincare.

I love how open & transparent you’re being about your skin. My issues with mine are i have an oily/combination skin so i can get breakouts and large pores 🙈🙈 wish i could shrink those and get rid of the oilyness although it has gotten better with age 😫😫
I actually learned this tip from you yourself Edward. The tip was to pat moisturizer on your face and to never rub it into your face. I see all these other people massaging it into their faces but everytime i'd do that I would break out or my skin would really irritated. Thanks to you my skin has improved tremendously but there is still plenty of work that needs to be done.
I have eczema too. And with the stuff on your fingers I also have that and I’ve went to dermatologists they’ve always just told me to moisturize after I wash my hands but it’s never completely gone away and I’m so happy to find out that one of the people that I look up to is like me. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Holy shit. I suffer from terrible eczema. Asian male, 20s - suddenly it ended up all over my face, weeping, I also flared up with Dishydrotic eczema as well. Its not as bad now, but my face is still dry and red a lot of the time, but no longer weeping. I've been following for quite some time, and a lot of the skin care stuff I'm always like "Nah, I don't think that will work for me. I only watch for the hair things". and have to be extra careful about what UA-camrs get sponsored by because I don't know if it will screw up my eczema more, or cause another flareup. This whole time I didn't realize you had the same issues. I would love to know what your eczema routine is for your face and body. Currently I'm using a lot of The Ordinary stuff that is Fungal safe. As I know that some of my facial eczema must be due to a mix of Sebderm and bacteria. And would you say Geologie is safe for eczema?
I think this is really relatable. I've always been a tomboy growing up and the thought of makeupand dressing up girly was a big no... Like I'd rather die than do them. But because of the issues around my skin, I started to look into my skin health and because I really dont like makeup, I wanted to improve my natural skin. Now I'm a skin care fanatic, but not crazy because I understand that what my skin needs is different from others. I learnt this from trial and error, noting down factors that affect my skin really helped with my diagnosis and triggers for acne, hives, rashes, polymorphic light sensitivity, scarring and swelling. It's good Ur open about why u for into skincare, cuz alot of people do it to improve their skin- which is the general purpose, but for some of us, it's like medicine... We need it in order for our skin to be well ☺️☺️ I get the hand rash thing. COVID was really bad because hand sanitizer and strong anti bacterial soaps and fragranced shower gel make it chapped and bleed. It's a struggle but try not to feel insecure, 🥰
Wow Edward I never thought I would totally relate to you about those skin conditions. My eczema is similar to yours where I get random patches all over my thighs, arms, shoulder, neck, leg and back. I’ve had this for years and it just used to keep coming and going and eventually appear on a new body part. I think at this moment of my life I am finally getting close to healing my skin permanently. I’ll give you my step by step guide BUT before anything, ONLY if your skin is inflamed and itchy at the same time then do this before my step by step guide: show your doctor and ask your doctor if they can provide you with a steroid cream which calms down the inflammation (I used my steroid cream 2 times a day, no more) and try to not have warm showers, keep the temperature meatball but better on the colder side to help inflamed skin. Once inflammation has calmed down, stop using the steroid cream (might take about 4-7days using the cream for the inflammation to go away) and now you’re ready to follow this step by step guide: STEP 1: buy a BIG tub full of moisturising cream that you can use about at LEAST (yes I said least) 4x a day (I know it seems long but believe me, you can do it) and use that moisturiser EVERYDAY. It doesn’t have to be any unique/expensive cream, (simple E45 tub should do but absolutely your choice) as long as the cream itself isn’t stinging you then you’re good to go. STEP 2: The seemingly “difficult” part: DONT ITCH. Train yourself not to itch. What I do to not itch is rub gently instead OR find a distraction by exercising, jumping and jamming to music like a hobo. I promise you, overcoming itchiness is a brain game that you can 100% win if you believe in yourself and remind yours;Ed that you actually want to and can recover from eczema as well as strengthen your skin. Once you can train yourself to not itch during the day, now try stop itching during the night. I usually am half awake when I notice that I’ve been itching in my sleep so I stop myself. But if you’re someone who can’t catch themselves itching then I recommend wearing cotton gloves to sleep. STEP 3: REPEAT. YES, I SAID REPEAT STEP 1 AND 2. Do this until your eczema has completely gone which usually takes a month if you stay true to yourself. The key is to forget about the itch and make it feel like a massage instead. So what if you feel an itchy sensation? Tell yourself that it feels more like a massage than anything! I promise you my people, the main thing isn’t to stay dedicated to the actions, it’s about staying dedicated to the thought which brings in the action.your eczema will you, I’ll be your unexpected motivator ;)
So proud of you for sharing this ❤! I have been suffering from Pmle recently and it is terrible, I saw your shorts on it recently and it was so relatable. Thank you for sharing your skin care journey with us and for willing to be so open about your insecurities. It takes a lot to be so openly and publicly vulnerable with your fanbase. I was really lucky as a teenager to not have to many issues in regards with my face. As I got older I did have more problems with eczema particularly on my hands and face. Keeping a diary definitely helped me narrow down my eczema triggers!
@@downo I totally agree with you. Lying and presenting a false image that cannot be attained with the methods you show is not okay and can be detrimental for those that try to follow you. I'm not so knowledgeable on identifying plastic surgery but all the same I'd like more concrete proof yk

@EdwardZo This was a great video, thank you for being so vulnerable with us about these things. I also have sensitive skin and have to be careful with what I put on my face daily as well as what I eat because even some acidic food can make my face breakout if like the sauce of something gets on it.
Idk if you’re ever gonna see this, but I can 100% relate. I’ve had eczema since I was 8. My first flare up was the entire backside of my legs and the underside of my forearms. Prescription hydrocortisone did not help at all, and my parents even bought Chinese topicals but they burned like a mf. I remember dreading every single night that I had to shower and apply the topicals. Literally clenching my dad’s arms bc it was so painful and burned so bad. I didn’t wear shorts or any kind of short sleeve tees because I didn’t want people to be disgusted of me. Summers in Texas was the worst, and I stayed inside until I was 13 ( when it began to fade into white scars). It took over 5 years for the scars to heal…. Around age 16, another major flare up began. This time it was mostly on my ankles, wrists, elbows, and lips. It continued and slowed down when I turned 21. Eventually I began working at a boba shop at age 23. Around this time I haven’t had a breakout in almost 2 years…. Then I got my first case of dyshidrotic eczema on my right hand. It was on my middle finger, then progressed to the back of my hand, wrist, and eventually my other fingers. It would get worse after washing, since I couldn’t really apply lotion right after. It was swollen, red, and burned from the inside-almost like having jalapeño juice on your fingers. I felt embarrassed of it, and even started using my left hand more often to cashier and hand out drinks. I think what made me feel more confident was my coworkers taking care of me and always reminding me to put on lotion and that no one thought ill of me. Anyway, I’ve had this problem for the past 4-5 years now (I’m currently 28) and it’s finally gotten better after I quit that job. No more washing my hands in hot, dirty water! My mom also gave me gloves and triamcinolone acetonide ointment; it helped tremendously. I know your flare ups worsen from the sun but don’t shy away from being outdoors. If you find what works for you then use it. Don’t let it stop you from doing what you want to do!
I can relate to this so much. I have eczema, atopic dermatitis which is effected by asthma, hayfever, migraines and stress. Thank you for sharing, it meant a lot
We all have insecurities and aren't perfect. But to me personally I find it attractive. If someone has a scar, burn mark, etc...its attractive. So Edward no matter what i will always love you for who you are than what you look like...even tho you're super cute and a hottie your personality is very mesmerizing🥰
well, i havent had many skin issues per se, but the number 1 insecurity for me would probably be some small birthmarks i have above my cheekbone on my left cheek, and one i have on my jaw on the right side of my face.
I had an episode of eczema that lasted for months and months after coming back from Afghanistan. I hadn't had to deal with eczema since I was a kid! Quarter-sized patches all over my torso. I got the Lush Charity Pot body lotion because I liked the way it smelled and felt. All natural with no petroleum products was good too. Dang if it didn't clear up all my eczema within two weeks. I have no idea how or why (as it's not medicated), but it did.
I have eczema and it was a true struggle when i first got it, it been more than 2 years and i finally started to get the hang of it now I deal with patches which is much more manageable than your whole body being a big giant irritated mess. I still feel insecure about it and I am practicing ways to deal with the scaring but still a process. I found your channel through your short about slugging which honestly i need to be doing from now on lol
I relate to this video so much! When I was younger, I had really bad skin cause I never really cared about it, until 8th grade when I had a massive glow up. And seeing how much better I looked, I decided to really start caring about my appearance. I have allergies (allergic rhinitis) and recently, I've developed eczema. At first, it wasn't that bad, until it started getting itchy. And now I have a red patch around my eyelids which comes and goes. It sucks
Omfg! I'm 34 years old and I've never had anyone be able to tell me what my weird water bubbles were on my hands/feet! Dishydronic eczema?! Jesus. I researched and that's got to be it. I've never met anyone else with it
The hand stuff is eczema too? Now I am royalty ticked off at my doctors. None of them knew what it was or how to help me. It finally petered out on its own after over a decade.
Since you asked 🥰, I have very cracked dry hands that has just started spreading to my palms making them feel rough 😆. In the cold winter and hot summer my hands are prone to cracking very painfuly in the creases or finger tabs of my fingers 🩸. But yeah I think it’s actually more painful than embarrassing I really gotta get it checked out by a dermatologist bc my actual doctor couldn’t help 😐
I had the same skin problem and couldn't watch this video. It was a traumatic experience. It took me years and deep into my 30s to find the solution. If any of you have this problem obviously find a dermatologist. I couldn't because I was a very introverted person, but you will regret it if you don't. If you can't afford it the best cream that works is benzoyl peroxide. Start with 2.5% concentration to see how your skin reacts. It is literally the only thing that worked for me. I was also on roaccutane (NOT at the same time) and it worked but I didn't follow through because you tend to do stupid things when you are young. But seriously, if you are an introvert having bad acne will make it so much worse. You don't want your character be molded by a silly problem that can be easily be fixed. Gift yourself the courage to visit a dermatologist if Benzoyl Peroxide doesn't completely get rid of it.
🌺Aloha from Hawaii !!! I have eczema & acne prone myself what worked for my eczema is the amazing Renew Lotion & renew bath wash from melaleuca health and wellness it’s very gentle yet consistently effective. My best advice and best honest opinion comes from and with the best version of me, myself and I. 😊 Mahalo for your time! 🤙🏼

My skin insecurities are acne scars (I'm 17 years old but there's a lot of physical/atrophic acne scars are there).

Eczema is also stress induced; check your emotional state and use your medication as needed.
