I literally said in a previous video that a 3 stages of hell match would be cooler than just hell in a cell…. And the comment section just was not having it. Was getting roasted left and right for “not knowing how to book”
They should’ve called up Vic Joseph and let Joe commentate NXT. It’s kind of jarring when a big moment happens and the guy says “big shoulder.” I know he’s new and all but this is Monday Night Raw. Imagine if this guy was calling when Bronson Reed took out Seth. Micheal Cole yelling TSUNAMIIII sold the moment for me. I do agree with the judgment day looking weak. I honestly think they should kick out Carlito and get Raquel in the mix. Liv should retain at Bad Blood I think. It would be interesting if Liv put a stipulation on it saying Rhea can’t challenge for the belt for as long as she holds it. Then Liv could have an actual reign away from Rhea and judgement day. I also agree with the Sami point. Sami Zayn vs Gunther doesn’t scream world heavyweight championship match. I hope it’s just a main event for Raw and not some dragged out feud for Bad Blood. The match will be amazing but I don’t know how many more L’s Sami can take. One thing I didn’t like about his Intercontinental title reign was that he was built as an underdog against guys like bron breakker chad gable and Bronson reed when he kind of isn’t one. He beat Gunther once but if he loses now it’s just going to look like he got lucky. Awesome video I’ll make sure to give my thoughts on the next Raw Takes.
I love your videos, Matt! Wanted to say I really do agree with all of your takes except for The Judgement Day looking weak...well, they are weak, but Priest and Ripley were the main ones running the group with their dominant presence. Now that they're kicked out, that powerhouse factor is gone, so they can't just march up to the ring and expect to terrorize the terror twins. I think if Judgement day wants to remain on top they have to change tatics and can't act like the same Judgement as the people who ran it or else how they going to get out of their shadow? Maybe instead using the numbers game in the ring, maybe have The Judgement Day manipulate other wrestlers to help them like Final Testament with Xavier Woods?
Finn and JD have been tag champions for over 70 days, and during this period they have defended the titles 0 times on tv and lost 2 non title matches to Jey Uso.
I don't mind if the bracelet or the ula fala are just as important if not more than the world titles, I don't think Triple H cares, I don't think Nick Khan cares and judging by the number of sellouts, record gates, merch sales, views on social media... apparently neither do most fans. I think most of us just want good stories and good entertaining matchee and WWE's three brands are providing exactly that. I think there's a split between the IWC and the more casual fans and even the IWC is now split almost in half.
That's the problem. Triple H & WWE don't care because they know the fans aren't smart enough to notice and they aren't smart enough to realize this version of Roman Reings is The Big Dog as he has not cut not one promo since returning.
@@MajinUltraEgo I don't know if the fans are smart or not, I think most fans just want to be entertained and that's what WWE provides. WWE is the closest wrestling has to mainstream entertainment and that's what they've always been or wanted to be, at times they have been and others not so much. They want as many people as possible to buy their product, now more than ever since they merged with UFC to firm TKO with Ari Emmanuel as the boss and since they signed the deal with Netflix. And it's working because they're making money hand over fist and the mainstream media talk about them more than they had in a long time, and they do so in a good way. Why would WWE care what their critics say on the internet? Especially when even their numbers on social media are better than ever. They're a business, they want to make money and they're very successful.
@@MajinUltraEgo read again my comment, I said the numbers ON SOCIAL MEDIA are better than ever. I didn't say the TV ratings, although most shows on TV these days don't have the ratings shows 25 years ago had, and by that same logic, the Monday Night Wars period was shit compared to 10.years earlier. The highest combined viewership of Nitro and Raw was about 12-13M , but The Main Event on NBC in February 1988, the day Andre the Giant beat Hulk Hogan for the WWF championshp, was watched by well over 80M people. Does that mean the MNW ratings were bad? No, because there were more channels, more shows to watch. Same goes for today, there are way more alternatives than 25 years ago. But either way I was talking about their social media numbers.
@@anxofernandez3344 I read that, don't tell me to read when I already did, I said that because you're acting like WWE is doing so good right now either way when the ratings prove otherwise, social media viewers don't pay, don't even know why you brought them up lmao
I think Joe Tessitore needs to find his groove, not bad for first outing but yes was very “sports” like. I have to agree the judgement day are looking like idiots. They need to get the better of the “Terror Twins” so the pay off of Rhea and Damien finally winning is that much sweeter. Personally I’d rather not see HIC to blow off Drew and Punk. HIC has been ruined and should not be seen for years. A 3 stages of hell match would be awesome as not seen on the main roster in nearly a decade. I’m getting tired of the Wyatt 6 feud with Chad and already, problem with this is again American Made look very weak if they keep getting beat and this has the potential to be a great stable ala Team Angle. Its hard to see ahead he Championship picture.
I agree with everything you said. The Wyatt Sicks storyline and Judgement Day storyline are boring for the reasons you just described. also agree that HIAC is ruined now. It’s just a glorified street fight now. We’ll probably never see it like it was at the Michaels/Undertaker match. Definitely won’t see a repeat of Mankind/ Undertaker
People are quick to judge when a stable or superstar has a losing streak. Remember that Damian Priest and the judgement day was taking L in their first yr then Rhea became champ and DP/FB became Tag champs. Also dp won mitb and became a juggernaut stable this yr for at least 4 months. Thats how Triple H mostly books. Slow but stable and has a pay off. But tobe fair sometimes the pacing feels like a snail
the sami thing works so gunther can bet him and get that win back to prove its a fluke so im okay with it. and sami is great it will work out and we know the outcome of every person gu ther could face. no one he will face will beat him moving forward so no matter what we know the outcome of thst
At the end of the day WWE is a business and what makes them money is what makes them money. My point is about the Jey Uso part of this video, I would love to see him become more aggressive and actually win a singles belt finally. But WWE knows his fun and exciting aura is a massive money maker and we all know those t-shirts are selling like crazy. So the chance of being as successful being more mean and aggressive in their eyes not be as hot of a seller so they might not want to risk that. Hence why they keep that type of demenor on Bron. That being said, Jey needs a singles belt, he's way over due and I would honestly love to see him show a meaner more serious side, like the rest of his family. What does everybody think?
I agree. His meaner side will remind ppl of his time as a heel in The Bloodline n not as the hero that broke free from tyranny. He can get a singles title next year n b in a story that builds it up. N if him n a face Roman have patched things up by then, b even better for him.
Right. A lot of the current WWE storylines are mostly (almost entirely) based on money and how much money they can make (or not lose). This usually doesn't equate to putting out the best storylines from an entertainment value. You can tell WWE completely made a shift when TKO bought them, when HHH came on, etc. It's all carefully crafted around money, selling merchandising, how much they can sell tickets for, etc. They'll keep Jey as the "fun guy" as long as his merchandise sales continue to be high - they won't risk turning him more mean in the slight chance merch sales will go down - which again means they aren't putting out the best product. You can say this same thing for almost all the other storylines currently going on.
I don't even have to mention Montez. I'd rather Dawkins get a singles belt before the Superkick spammer. Think about it this way: Usos Mania match was ass and that was their dream match...if Jey can't put on a great match with his TWIN brother, how is he supposed to carry a feud with someone not in his family?
That's the thing that I hate. I clearly have my favorites in this feud, that being The Judgment Day, so I might be bias but even from the perspective of someone who doesn't have any favorites in the feud, it's annoying the way they are building Rhea and Damian. I don't see how it helps TJD for them to be booking it this way. First, 5 people can't take out Damian Priest? And now Liv gets taken out by Rhea on one leg? Next thing they'll have TJD look "strong" just to lose again. I thought this story was about to take us to a new level at Bash, with TJD winning, and it might still happen but what I'm seeing now doesn't feel like it's helping anyone other than Rhea and Damian. It feels like a burial, which is disappointing because this storyline was really heating up but now they've killed my excitement. It doesn't even have anything to do with TJD losing. They're just making them look really weak. I swear they've never made anyone in the history of WWE this strong. Not Brock, not Taker, not even Triple H. Even Super-Cena had to work for his wins. We forget we have the Women's World Champion, Liv Morgan, here, who's the only person to beat Nia Jax, since she's been back. Finn Balor, the Prince himself is there too and I just don't understand why those two would agree to this. Maybe they have something up their sleeve and I'm just not being patient. But I'm not convinced of that.
