It's so helpful for George that you're sharing your knowledge and time with him. Practical skills are so important even today. I wish my dad could have done this with me all those many years ago.
I’ve a 2014 Freelander 2 and have bought quite a few bits from you guys which have all been great. I also have a 1992 Mini Sprite, would love to see you guys stocking Mini bits too. Keep up the good work.
I ran my mini into the back of a taxi once which had a tow bar fitted. The impact pushed in the lower front cross beam against the engine and flared out the wings. So my Dad put a rope around the garden post and around the cross beam, put the car in reverse and pulled it back into place. Both wings went back to their right positions. Just needed to be rewelded on the panel seams. Happy days!😂.
Come up really well that, as i said in part one, i think that's been well looked after. George has got a good base there, if i were him. Id leave it standard. A lot of these were " coopered up" be nice to see it stay as it is. Just beware of parts been over priced, from mini specialists. Great to see a 18 year old getting a proper classic, and knowing what a choke is! Mad how these were a very common sight 20 years ago, to the point now, they are a very, very rare sight. So i wonder if some of these ended up been victim to the scrappage scheme too.
You flung me back in time with that exhaust clamp…the times I took those apart!! Can you still get “ GunGum” to seal exhaust leaks..it lasted about 3000 miles before it fell off again! What is it worth?…..it doesn’t matter..it builds memories George will have forever….no money needed! 😃😃😃😃Richard
Not a bad MOT history by looks of previous ones. Last year it did 40 miles between tests!! Not bad for a Mini with just over 100k on the clock either!! 😀😀👍👍
Your best off changing the whole front end while your going to be cutting it off anyway, and might aswell do the a pannels too so it’s all done together, and those sills are over sills, if your going to do the front end you might as well put original outer sills on, as those are basically covers that you have covering rust and rot, nice project though

“ it’s a Mini, of course it will!” Love that line from George. Loving this mini!

Simon, is George still talking to you - after you said he looked like Kevin? 🤣
Lucky he did not know who Kevin was !
Great project 👏👏👏👏👏

Fifty shades of red.😍

All good points - this could be a bigger project ! but as you say still worth doing !
George wearing dads jumper more like
Sweet!
Over sills on this will be hiding a nightmare underneath as well as the remains of the original sills.
Yes I am a little worried about this !
That osr rigid brake pipe looks to be kinked where it enters the wheel cylinder, which is why it's fouling on the handbrake cable. 11:43
U done well just spray the bit u fixed red and job done. Wouldn't bother doing anything else. You just Double or triple your money.
Mini looks fantastic just don't have a crash in it. 10" wheels and a centre exit exhaust please.
Good luck with the emissions at the MOT.
Very cool 👌 👌❤️❤️🙏🙏🇬🇧
The sides are rather wavy. Probably quite a lot of body filler under that paint.
There looks to be a lot of filler in the front wing so best step and replace!
That headlight didnt survive, look at the damage behind it, someone just threw that in to improve tbe visual
I need to check that - we were going to upgrade the lights anyway ! maybe to LED
Part 2
But Part 12 looks likely ... Ahem
