2016 Kia Sorento - Off Road And Track Review

- The 2016 Kia Sorento SXL AWD. This is an SUV from Kia, featuring a 2.0L Turbo I4 producing 240 HP, which I’ll be comparing to the Ford Edge, Jeep Cherokee, Nissan Murano, and Subaru Outback. Starting with the drawbacks, the Kia offers mediocre fuel economy, has slightly less ground clearance than the Cherokee and Outback, and and has a fairly high tested MSRP at just over $45k. That said, it offers excellent cargo space, decent acceleration, the most front legroom of the group, and depending on the trim selected can tow up to 5,000 lbs.
This vehicle was tested as part of the 2015 Northwest Automotive Press Association’s Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year competition. The vehicle category and competing vehicles are below:

From a Land Rover and Kia opirus 3.8 owners this Beautiful SUV need to be very good on Overland but for hard core off road I don't think so but on reliability long run the Kia Easy destroy the Land Rover easy.. my Kia visit the deeler only one time for a simple recall at the time and my Land Rover visit the deeler 11 time so say to much about ... And the Kia is not a poor man car is just nice car for money even my 60 grand Rover make me poor man and a Kia make me a rich man... Even was looking this video because after 5 years with my Landi I was looking for something nice to trade in my truck and this Kia is nice for money and I love that panoramic roof just like my Rover .. Rover is good for off road environment nothing close but the constant maintance make me tired of the truck at long turn and when you have family and no time for issue and surprise reason why something reliable fit in

in Australia we get a 2.2l diesel for the same price as your petrol, does anyone no why this is? is there a diesel one available in the USA?
+Brandon Roveta They don't get the 2.2L Diesel over there. They get a 2.0L Turbo, 2.4L i4 and 3.3L V6. We also get the V6 but ours isn't a GDi version of it like theirs.

+Car Nut I just purchased the 2016 with the V6 and it screams, espcially in sport mode. I traded in a 2014 Sorento with the I4 and what a difference.
Diesel version has way better fuel economy 6L/100km
why do people all ways test the highest of the class test the lowest what people can buy
+Effram Coleman because manufacturers want to show their products at their best, understandably. So all the press cars are decked in features.
Have to say I disagree. There is quite a wide selection of Sorento reviews on youtube covering just about any trim level if you search. Also the difference in actual performance doesn't depend directly on the trim really it just matters which engine you select which even the mid to lower level trims can get the same engine as this SX model and thus will perform the same. The rest is just bells and whistles. Finally, I would say there are plenty of people who can afford the higher level trims or they wouldn't make them. I myself just purchased a 2017 Kia Sorento SX-L this week in fact, and I am certainly not rich only being a few years out of college.
I know right?!? I test drove the SX, EX and LX (2.0T & V6) and I can tell you that the SX really does not 'feel' much more expensive than the EX. The LX does 'feel' a little cut down. I think the EX with the V6 or the 2.0T is the best for this model. I feel the 2.4 engine is too small for this car.
I had a 2013 LX and took it from Michigan to Texas the gas mileage was great the room was great 3rows luggage on the roof rack
Oh I cut myself off the 4 cylinder seemed not good for climbing Hills and getting out of way of semis now I have a 2016 LX all wheel have not taken it on long trip yet but it's a little longer and still gets good gas mileage for its sizes all wheel 4 cylinder it's just to much to get the 6 cylinder my LX has a sport mode that gets up very good bring on the semi trucks
One day, Kia is going to catch up with the Mercedes Benz.

I really like your videos..I really do. But i'm tired of having my subscriptions spammed with tests of garbage vehicles. I'm going to be blunt here. No one gives a rats ass about a KIA Sorento. We like you explaining cool stuff. Not plugging products from car manufacturers..
suzuki400boi I dunno, I found something worthwhile in all the SUV reviews and I hate the SUV category.
This one for example was interesting because here yet again is a Korean vehicle manufacturer asking higher prices for their product in the US than many Japanese competitors, whilst where I live (NZ) they are still seen as the budget alternative to Japanese vehicles.
GM even re-badge Daewoo's as Holdens to sell them to idiots who think they are made in Australia to avoid the budget Korean stigma.
It's a fascinating market segment because the people who buy these things are often so clueless about what they are actually buying, or indeed their own reasons for buying something like this.
